Visiting the area for the week and stumbled upon Scoops and glad we did! The menu was extensive and it was definitely difficult to choose what we wanted. We ended up deciding on a small cup-- peanut butter s'mores and strawberry cheesecake. Don't be fooled with the size description-- a small was such a huge amount that two of us shared it! The ice cream was smooth and not too sweet. The girls helping behind the counter were very nice and quick with our order. There were some cute chairs shaped like ice cream cones available for seating! Will definitely come again before we leave! read more

While visiting Canandaigua Lake outside Rochester, our family stopped by Scoops to have some ice cream. The staff was very efficient while our group ordered different flavors. My daughter likes to come here for a treat followed by playing in the playground across the street and walking by the water. Lots of flavors to choose from and generous portions. $6 gets you two large scoops in their "small" size. It's enough for both my 2.5 year old and me. Great soft ice cream and sundaes. Unlike other places - open all day until late. Definitely worth a stop!

Good portion sizes. Many flavors. So many options. Shakes, sundaes, etc. etc. Lines can get very long, and parking can be difficult. Staff is friendly and works as fast as they can to serve the masses. Beautiful scenery as it is right on the lake. If looking for quicker service and less lines, try the location in Farmington. I visited the Finger Lakes with my fiancé and stopped at this ice cream place while in the area. It's conveniently located near Canandaigua lake and close to downtown. We got chocolate chip cookie dough and Cinnabon ice cream in a kiddie cup. They said the kiddie cup size is only one scoop, but we both thought that it was filling. The ice cream overall was good and it was nice being able to bring it over to eat by the lake. I would recommend coming here! read more

My brother, sister, and I knew a visit to scoops was destined after a long day in the sun. And today that tradition still stands. My mom always got the lemon sorbet, I couldn't resist the cookie dough or the Panda Paws with the mini peanut butter cups, my siblings would go for cotton candy or caramel praline turtle. No matter what the flavors were out of this world because it's Perry's Ice Cream and that's the best. Yeah, I said it. It's an order at the counter spot and cash only. Poor social distancing during the pandemic. When we asked the manager about her face mask slipping down below her nose (it was really just barely covering her mouth, but we wanted to assume she just didn't realize) she looked at us blankly, said nothing, and didn't adjust her mask. Face masks are supposed to cover your mouth and nose. Seems like management is only enforcing a mouth covering as other employees' masks were only covering their mouths, too. Other workers we spoke to afterwards said the manager is "just busy." Too busy to care about the well-being of your staff and customers? Wonder what this means for their other social distancing/sanitizing practices, because if it's anything like the masks, it's both not safe nor up to code with NYS requirements. For the price, this place can't be beat. A small is $3.00 and is a very generous portion - So much so that the employees will warn you if you order a medium. They serve Perry's ice cream and have a large assortment of flavors - roughly 12-20 at any given time. They also have soft serve but I have to say, it was a bit of a let down. Great spot down by the water and very friendly staff. They have the most adorable ice cream chairs and tables however it is right in the sun and no shade or umbrellas offered. Wanted to take some cute pictures of the kids but it was way too hot and they almost burned their hands on the counter when they tried to order their ice cream. Went and ordered food for three children and myself and had to go use closest bank ATM to get cash. Should have bigger signs for this. My ice cream melted due to one of kids having to hold it for me.
