My husband and I visited Sconniebar on weeknight where it wasn't too busy. Sconniebar is a very fun bar with lots of TVs to watch sports with great cheap drink specials. This a great bar in a great location close to the WI Badger stadium (Camp Randell). We were greeted nicely with great attentive service from the bartender. The food was ok but maybe we didn't try the best food items on the menu. We started off with the Cajun and Jerk dry rub wings which were made deliciously hot and fresh!!! I tried the garden salad topped with steak which was ok. I was hoping the steak would have been seasoned better. My husband tried the cheesesteak which he said was really disappointing with not much meat and kind of bland for $15. Overall, the food was pretty average bar food but Sconniebar was still a really fun bar to visit! read more

They offer affordable bar bites, daily specials, a full bar, brews, shuttles to Badger games, and more. The service has been really good every time I've gone and the staff has been friendly. The food is good, you can expect pretty typical bar food. I order the boneless wings with honey garlic sauce and waffles fries when I go. The wings are crispy but very saucy and the waffle fries are crispy and well seasoned. I've ordered the Old Fashioned there before and it wasn't great so I stick to beer or seltzers now. I might give it another shot in the future! They do have a parking lot in the back, it's pretty small but still nice since most bars on Regent Street don't have parking. Pretty good food for a sports bar. Last time we were here, we had wings with a variety of sauces. All were pretty good, but the dry rub mixed with any of the other sauces was the best combination. We also ordered the spicy cheesecurds. They were average. Sadly, I think the cheese by itself would have been better. They were a little too greasy for my liking, probably because the fryer temp was a little off from frying the wings. One thing that I will say, is that one of the bartenders is my favorite in Madison. He makes the best standard brandy old fashioned that I have found thus far. Nothing fancy with flavors of brandy or other ingredients, just the best standard! Generally this is why we keep coming back. read more

The atmosphere was laid back, the waitress was extremely helpful, and the food and beer was reasonably priced. Half priced burgers on Sundays and plenty of televisions for watching games. They even got Paramount Plus! read more

I have never had such an appalling experience at an establishment... My friends and I went to the Badger hockey game, and decided to do a "Tour de Regent" - stopping at the various bars down Regent street that we've all frequented many times, growing up in Madison. SCONNIEBAR was our third stop and our little group got split up. Two of us walked in, showed our IDs and the bar was packed so it was hard to move anywhere, let alone see over people to find the rest of the group. As I stood by the bouncer looking around, he taps me, and says "if you go down the street to Jordan's, there's an older crowd there." I appreciated the suggestion, but was completely offended by his reference to my age. Someone needs to give this young man sensitivity training - and maybe job training, because a vast majority of the customers last night looked extremely under age. read more

Came here on opening day (which happened to be the day of the UW/LSU game). Understandably the place was packed and the waitstaff was swamped. After a few minutes, we were able to flag down a manager and they promptly sent a server to the table. Even as busy as it was, I can tell the kitchen is definitely upgraded from it's predecessor, Lucky. The menu has been refreshed and now includes several options of grilled cheese sandwiches. Always a fan of something that will give me a heart attack, I opted for the burger topped with a brat. The burger was cooked to order (medium rare) and topped with havarti and bacon, the sandwich was a hearty offering. I will be looking forward to coming on a non game day in a few weeks and try out other options. read more

Wings were good... I wasn't as big a fan of the buffalo sauce. Drinks are strong. Server was prompt and attentive. They're truffle fries are pretty epic. Quite possibly the worst bar food I have ever had. Went there after attending an event on campus. While I didn't expect much from an establishment that caters to students, it was worse than expected. The staff was nice but not professional, we ordered our drinks after several minutes the server rushed by placed my drink on the table and continued past. I had to remind her to bring my wife's drink. She brought our bill before we even had an opportunity to order a second drink. Definitely made to not feel welcome. The food was over cooked and over seasoned, probably to mask that it was over cooked. Maybe good enough for college kids, but not for adults. read more

I finally got the chance to stop here after helping my son move out of his college housing. I'm glad I did, I was famished and was craving some comfort food. I ordered the traditional mac and cheese and was not disappointed. The parmesan bread crumbs and green onion garnish kick it up a notch, but still has the comfort vibe that I was wanting. It was very good. My son had the cheese curd burger. He liked that the bacon was crispy and said his burger was very good. The food had taste potential, however, when you are parched from lack of beverages and what you ordered either didn't come out complete, at all or was wrong, it really doesn't matter. If you weren't ready to be open on a Friday night, UW Women's Volleyball night, then you should have waited another week or two. Train your staff, hire more employees and get your act together. Recently visited the new SconnieBar twice for lunch and to check out the venue for a holiday party. What a major improvement over the old Lucky's. Very clean and up to date. The physical appearance is much nicer and the staff are friendly and competent - we had great service from very pleasant people both times. Nothing like the feeling of being an inconvenience to the former staff - even at their new location which we have tried twice, something is missing. Not here, looking forward to resuming our weekly lunches that we stopped last year due to not feeling welcomed and not liking the physical deterioration of the old place. The food is good quality, good variety. We will be hosting our annual office holiday party and I must say so far the manager has been on top of it. Being very patient while we get our act together, yet checking in regularly. I was contacted within 24 hours of my online inquiry - still have not heard from other places and it has been a few weeks and our party date is getting close.
