Treatment from Dr. Dovornany caused me immense pain as an adolescent that has continued in adulthood. When I expressed that I was in pain with the very intensive treatment, he said "scoliosis does not cause pain" and left me at that at 12 years old. I would never recommend anyone bring their child to this. Scrotch method works to actually alleviate pain and listen to the body. Scolismart is too aggressive for children in my opinion, and leaves a lasting emotional impact. read more

We had an excellent experience at Scolismart! Dr. Dovorany is very professional and knowledgeable about scoliosis and ways to improve it. We were very impressed with the methods used as well as the technology and research to back it up. The scoliosis boot camp is a worthwhile investment and we are highly confident these exercises will result in a higher quality of life and excellent outcomes for my daughter. read more

I first heard about the 4 ScoliSMART clinics (WI, MI, NY, PA) by joining a Scoliosis Warriors Facebook group that is administered by Clayton Stitzel, a chiropractor at the PA clinic. I have been following the page looking for advice and info on different treatment methods. Clayton has a clear agenda of pushing his clinic, and that is fine, but wow, he has been rude, unprofessional, and dare I say inappropriate at times. What finally did it for me was when I witnessed a FB user comment that she would love to come to a ScoliSMART clinic, but financially she is not able to travel.-She stated she felt Schroth could be helpful for some people as it has helped her due to no other options at the moment. Clayton's response was " Take the red pill...Living in harsh reality is better than blissful ignorance." Apparently this is the way ScoliSMART doctors talk to their potential future patients! A different FB user, who must've been as miffed by this as I was, chimed in stating, "Why make the comment about a little red pill and blissful ignorance? You had a pretty good article supporting your program, then you ruined it with your mouthy comments. I wonder if the other ScoliSMART clinic facilitators are aware of how you promote the product and belittle people in the name of it?" to which Clayton replied "I really don't have time for individuals who openly chose to be overly opinionated and under educated. Thus, my sharp tongue response to her intellectual laziness." Later he stated, "Sigh...I entertain many of these hopelessly unproductive conversations in an effort for people to go through the discovery process of learning, but sometimes you just got to give them the answers." I'm having a hard time understanding why he is facilitating this group if all of our conversations are just "hopeless". Apparently we're all idiots and our conversations are unproductive. And he has given no answers or scientific evidence that his method works. After a year of this, I couldn't take it anymore. I have been in contact with Dr. Dovorany, the chiropractor from the WI clinic, as I had been thinking about pursuing treatment there. I sent him a message with the above info and told him that Clayton's aggressive responses are a complete turn-off. If Clayton is THAT passionate about what he is doing, he needs either a softer edge or to have someone else administer the group as people are leaving and ScoliSMART is losing potential business. If he is that passionate about making a sale, he is in this for the wrong reasons. Either way, he is not representing ScoliSMART's objective well at all. This is only one example, but from being in the group for a year or so, I have seen him lash out at people numerous times. I heard back from Dr. Dovorany who stated he disagreed with me, accused me of being overly-emotional, and that he supports Clayton 100%". Apparently this e-mail to Green Bay has since made it's way back to Clayton as I have been deleted from the group (which I was going to leave anyway). I have never encountered such holier-than-thou attitudes. ScoliSMART just lost my business and I thought everyone should know how they treat their future potential patients who need understanding and support, not insults and unprofessionalism. Comments from other Facebook group members include: -Clayton is the epitome of ignorant and arrogant all smashed together. I would NEVER think of going to a Scolismart clinic strictly because he makes it seem like it's just a business. -We had a very long conference call with Clayton trying to decide if it was right for our daughter. When we starting asking questions about statistics on his practice and outcomes from his patients that were a similar age to our daughter he didn't answer and when we asked again he said he was far to busy to keep records. To us that was a huge red flag! -I left the group months ago because it's very one sided and got too negative for me. That method may work for some but that man is unbelievable! -He is one of the worst people I have ever encountered. Disgusting human! When you can't ask legitimate medical questions to someone without them being offended, you know things are not right! -Clayton is ignorant. He is horribly rude with his comments as he was to me (I was 14 when I talked to him) He is a man that is cruel to not only parents of scoli patients but also to scoli patients! STAY AWAY! He is not straight forward with anybody! -Hearing his name makes my skin crawl. He is VILE and certainly no scoliosis warrior. He has no understanding of how scoliosis actually feels, how much pain it can cause or how if affects people mentally. The only thing that man achieves is a larger bank balance. He disgusts me! -I found him very abrasive and confrontational I could type more about their bullying behavior but Yelp limits the length of reviews! HORRIBLE "doctors" with inflated ego's and zero ethics. read more

We were very blessed by our time at Dr. Doverany's office in Green Bay. The team (Amy & Andi) were extremely knowledgeable, cheerful, and helpful with our 8 year old daughter. Dr. Doverany took ample time to explain our case and help develop a long term corrective treatment plan. We participated in the 5 day scoliosis boot camp and were very pleased with the outcome. Our daughter's curve has been reduced from 17 degrees down to 7. We have a very clear home treatment plan (developed by Dr. Doverany) to maintain the improvement and we will be back in 3 months to follow up on progress. In addition to our daughter's treatment it was very educational for my wife and I. We learned a lot about the way the spine reacts and responds to what the brain is telling it to do. I believe God designed and crafted our bodies in a unique and wonderful way to adapt to external circumstances. I particularly appreciated this approach to use the body's own nervous system to correct the spine through retraining the brain with a consistent weighted exercise plan. As with any family / medical related issue, we've taken our daughters case very seriously. We've met with 2 separate dr's to evaluate her case and ultimately decided this was the best course of treatment for her. I would encourage you to consider allowing Dr. Doverany to look at your case if you're exploring scoliosis treatment options. We have no connection to the office or to Dr. Doverany (we live on the west coast and found them online) but we have been very blessed by our experience there. read more

Worked with Dr Morningstar in MI and was very pleased with him and his staff. I am 44 and have had scoliosis since I was 13, I only wish I would have had this when I was a teenager. I have an S curve 35/38 now, I have had two fusions one level...one cervical and one lumbar...but I am still able to wear brace...I immediately feel "normal" when I put it on! read more

My review is based on almost four years of experience working with Dr. Brian Dovorany and his staff in the GreenBay Clinic. Since the beginning, I have only had great communication and pleasant experiences with all of them. Dr. Dovorany has been approachable, patient, encouraging, kind and beyond all of that, he has helped our son! What I have learned over the years about Scoliosis is that every case is unique and every case responds differently. One of the reasons I think the Scolismart approach is so amazing is because Dr. Dovorany designs each treatment plan specifically for each person, as opposed to the traditional method, which is based solely on the number of the curve. Our son started Scolismart treatment at age 10 with a 29 degree curve in brace. He was being fast tracked to surgery by our excellent Orthopedist in Houston, when we were blessed with this alternative option. As I said before, we are VERY HAPPY with the current results and with every encounter we have had with Dr. Dovorany. Currently, we have been released by the Orthopedist because our son is considered "non scoliotic"! What more do I need to say??! Even though this is considered by many an experimental type of treatment, it has not only been successful for our son but has given him his life back, OUT OF BRACE and WITHOUT SURGERY! It has been nothing short of miraculous for us. I have recommended Dr. D and his program to many people over the years and will happily continue to do so without hesitation! read more

The team at ScoliSMART in Green Bay is absolutely wonderful. Very compassionate and educating. My daughter has taken 13 degrees off of her curve thus far, in just three short weeks, and we are looking forward to returning in a few months to do another boot camp! I think what we appreciate the most (besides healing!!) is the opportunity to ask many questions about the treatment, and better understand things. My daughter and I spent a long time with Dr. Dovorany asking questions and he not only answered them, but welcomed it. Any doctor who is willing to really dig in and answer questions in a straightforward manner has our respect and appreciation - it is rare thing these days. THANK YOU so much!! read more

Dr. Dovorany helped my daughter avoid surgery. Her doctor here in Michigan wanted her to go through spinal fusion surgery. Everyone at the clinic is very helpful and kind. Dr. Dovorany always answers all our questions. The staff helped us with our traveling from Michigan. Most importantly my daughter's curves were reduced and she is out of pain. She is now playing college soccer - that would not have been possible without Dr. Dovorany. read more

I was so hoping for the miracle that all of us scoliosis families hope for. Our family borrowed the money for boot camp (about $7000) and worked our tails off to make it happen. It was extremely emotionally and physically taxing for our 10 year old. When it was all said and done, it was a big fail. Not only did our child's scoliosis worsen (even during our time at Scolismart), but Dr. Clayton managed to make our child feel as though it was her fault. She must have done something "wrong." We're heartbroken over this experience and truly regret ever contacting Dr. Clayton. read more

We had a negative experience overall at ScolioSmart in Green Bay. It's been 6 months since our child's initial bootcamp and with daily rigorous exercise at home, we learned today the curve is back to where we started. Please contact me at mail4acr at the yahoo if you have any more questions. There are many details I'd prefer not to share openly on the internet, but because I find and consider every review available when researching a product or service, I think I need to offer my review for those considering this program for themselves or their child. read more

Dr.Dovorany is one of the most straight forward, hard working, passionate (about scoliosis) doctors I have ever met! These days,It's hard to meet people who are so passionate about their work. Dr.D is constantly striving to find new ways to help combat scoliosis. I know because my daughter has been going to him for many years. She had the potential of having a very high curvature and he has kept it reasonably under control while her back was constantly moving with her rapid growth spurts. We continue to see improvements and I would very much recommend Dr. D to someone who is committed to improving their scoliosis. The earlier you start, the better-don't wait! FYI, Dr. D has the most awesome staff as well! They are very personable and very friendly with all the patients. Great Experience all around! read more

My daughter just completed the "Small Curve Camp" at the ScoliSMART clinic in Green Bay. She absolutely loved it and I could not be more happy with the experience. Dr. Dovorany and his colleagues have developed something truly special--a modern treatment for scoliosis that actually works to IMPROVE the curve. My daughter has an "S" curve that measured 24/24 when we began treatment. By the end of the 5 days, the curves had improved to 18/21. We will continue the home exercise regimen and fully expect continued improvement. Also, the staff at the clinic is incredibly friendly, and GREAT with the kids. It was just a positive, fun atmosphere. If you are a parent whose child has been diagnosed with scoliosis and are looking at the possibility of rigid bracing (the "Boston" brace), please reach out to Dr. Dovorany. You will not regret the decision. read more

My daughter has been treated at the ScoliSMART clinic in Green Bay for over a year. We have received great care from Dr. Dovorany as well as his compasionate staff. Lisa at the front desk as well Amy and Andi who work with the kids are wonderful. I am grateful for Dr. D's experience and knowledge. He answered my questions efficiently and handled my daughter's concerns and issues with respect. Having them in our corner as we help our daughter live with scoliosis has been a God-send. ...compared to the dreadful alternatives. they do get results. Communication and bedside manner are, however, typical of medical establishments. First told 5 day camp after preliminary x-ray review then suddenly revised to 10 day...? told what could be expected of results/future but got a different story when I asked pointedly at conclusion. Goalposts kept moving Dr. brushed off clearly too painful procedures and contradicted staff observations: for example, they get at least one fainting spell on equipment each week; sometimes daily on busy weeks. Dr likes to speak on his feet so consultations are kept short. Overall this is as good as it gets given the poor alternatives. read more

My daughter just completed a two week boot camp with Dr. Dorvorany and his amazing staff! During our time there Dr. D was straight forward about expectations and welcomed questions. He was honest about the process and I knew from the start that this is going to be a journey of ups and downs while my daughter is growing. The ladies who worked with my daughter, Amy and Andi were wonderful and also very helpful in the education process. Lisa was just as wonderful and went above her duties to assist me. My daughter is just beginning her journey, so I don't know what the final outcome will be, but I have faith that Dr. D. will do what is best for my daughter's spine. read more

I took our 15 year old daughter to the 2 week camp this past July and we got really good results. She had a lower lumbar curve of 78 degrees and after the two weeks it was 64. A 13 degree reduction even though she had a rough start to begin with getting dizzy and nauseous but Dr. Dovornay and staff at the Greenbay facility, were understanding, patient and encouraging. read more
