I would have to agree with the other negative reviews here about this store. First of all, look closely at the fine print in their "7-day return" policy. There are so many restrictions it would be more honest for them to just say "No returns". Second, even though they created a shipping label the next day, the package didn't actually ship for days after that, making it about the slowest shipping I've ever seen. Finally, as others have said - their responses and comments to me were curt, rude, and snarky. They obviously have no idea how to treat their customers. They tout themselves as a "small family business" but they act like a family that's not very happy. My advice - buy elsewhere, just about anyone else is better to deal with! read more

This review is long overdue. I placed an order with Scitscat due to their sale prices. However, the item was back-ordered, and after not responding to multiple emails for order cancellation, I decided to post a negative review. Then I get this scathing email from Scott Katz (owner) demanding we delete the review, or he would sue us with his "family of lawyers", withhold the refund, and along with a bunch of other comments and threats that may be illegal. Seriously stay far away from Scitscat. Tip: they also sell under AudioPlayRoom on eBay. Better off going with a more reputable business that won't treat their customers like s***. read more

Ordered an item from their website on Saturday, they sent email next day saying it's shipped. At this point my credit card was charged. After several days there weren't any movement on the tracking number so I contacted them to inquire. At first they said it's shipped, after I followed up again they finally admitted it wasn't shipped and is out of stock. When I said I should've been notified and asked for when they actually plan to ship it, this is their response: "We run out of products occasionally and you were just notified. DON'T BUY STUDIO EQUIPMENT FROM THIS STORE!. This is a very small family business that obviously cant handle simple tasks like getting a mic shipped without sending you through hurdle after hurdle. I called days ahead of time to ensure that I get my mic. After purchaseing the mic and having the $1000+ Withdraw from my account by THEIR company. Scitscat sent an email THE NEXT DAY saying "address doesnt match" I sent them an email back sending the same address I gave them last time. While wonder how its possible that my addresses dont match when I clicked "same as shipping address" during checkout. So I get another email THE NEXT DAY saying the same exact thing. Saying my addresses dont match. So this time I called them just as they easily could've called me because it was supposed to be sent out 2 days ago at this point. And i explained in my first email that I really badly needed to make sure it gets sent out as fast as possible. The owner wasnt In so the son said he'll call back. Instead of a call I get an email saying my order was cancelled. So I call AGAIN. He says that the "IP addresses didn't match" and that I have been flagged for fraud and he was waiting on an explanation from me through email. The emails he sent me said "ADDRESSES Do NOT MATCH" he never once said anything about an IP address which you dont have to be tech savvy to know that an address and an IP address are 2 extremely different things. I will be late on my rent this month thanks to this company. And of course they wont help pay my late fee even thought its obvious that they lack customer service and communication skills. Also I am still waiting for my refund. They say it will be there today. But I highly doubt that they know what they are talking about when it comes to anything technical. read more

They have offered all sorts of reasons for refusing to accept a return on the defective unit, including the assertion that accepting a return on a registered unit violates copyright law.!! What bs. These days it's impossible to find a quality music store in the Miami area that actually cares about the customer and isn't just after your wallet. Although I live in Los Angeles, I was able to visit the store while home for the holidays and was blown away by the quality and quantity of the equipment they had in the shop. The owner Scott hooked me up with exactly what I was looking for, and was extremely knowledgeable on all the gear I was asking about. It's safe to say that I will never need to go back to Guitar Center again! I ran into a similar experience as "Bvsic B." reviewer here. The order was flagged as fraudulent. Complete BS. Called up and talked to a person called Shawn. Said they will send an invoice after it is refunded. That invoice never came. Called back after i saw the refund in my CC account 4 days later. Asked for the invoice, Shawn said he is sending in it 3 mins. Again never got it. And not in spam either. So tried to call back 3 times and no one picks up.......So in retrospection, they tempt you with low prices but you never get that order fulfilled, perhaps something more shady here. Like collecting you address or credit card details, who knows. Another reviewer here by the name of "Bvsic B." also mentions that the transaction marked as fraudulent. So this does not smell correct. I have been buying from ScitScat almost exclusively for years. It's very rare that I will buy anything elsewhere. Only if ScitScat does not carry it. These are wonderful people who truly care about their customers and go above and beyond every single time. I know they have bent over backwards a million times for me and for the people I have referred to them as well. More than I can count. One of the rudest shops I've ever dealt with. They sell under multiple names on reverb. I unknowingly made an offer to both, the first was met with a snarky comment, the second simply said go away. If this is such an issue why bother having make an offer on. Either turn it off or decline. They are too inept to deal with a simple online sale, I can only imagine how mean they are in person. read more
