Yes, yes, yes, SCI -Simons Construction Co is hands down the best construction Co. I have worked with in all the 45 years I have lived in Atascadero! I contacted them because all their reviews were so positive. I have a 3,200 Sq ft attic that has been a hotel to my numerous feral cats/kittens and a few opossums and raccoons for 15 yrs now! They destroyed all the insulation and the heating/air ducting You ask how did this happen, well if you have ever dealt with a large group of feral cats that breed like rabbits, it becomes overwhelming very quickly especially when you don't even know they are up there! Well, we are finally down to two cats living up there so we knew IT WAS TIME TO GET THE ATTIC CLEANED UP, NEW INSULATION AND DUCTING AND THEN CLOSE IT UP FINALLY! I called three contractors expecting them all to turn down the job and I couldn't blame them if they did! Fortunately, SCI - Simons Const was the first company I called. Ryan answered the phone and said he would be out the next da1y to look at it. He went up into the attic and when he came back down he said YES, they would do the job and he explained in full detail to me what they needed to do and how they were going to do it! He also sent me a detailed bid THAT NIGHT and explained a lot of things can come up once it's cleaned up like wiring and structural issues. Obviously these would be added costs but I was informed by Don, who was amazing and worked like a supervisor along with all the crew, every step of the way if they saw anything that was a concern! I could never say enough GOOD THINGS ABOUT DON!!! He always kept me informed what they were doing, when they would be here and he always made sure they were not interrupting my daily activities! He always kept Ryan in touch of what was going on and then Ryan would call or text me too to make sure I knew what was going on! I tell you, THESE GUYS ARE ON IT and SO EASY TO WORK WITH!!! They also had to keep in touch with my heating/air Co, the insulation Co and my roofers because they had to cut holes in my roof to take out all the old insulation and ducting so we could put in the new stuff! Ryan suggested putting together a group text with everyone's numbers so that EVERYONE KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON AND WHEN, IT KEPT THE PROJECT RUNNING SMOOTHLY AND ON TIME ​The entire project only took 1 month but it felt like it was just a couple of weeks because everyone was so efficient and fortunately there were no unforseen issues I could go on forever about SCI - Simons Const, Ryan, Don and the wonderful crew but all you really need to know is THEY ARE THE BEST at least from my experience in every way!!! We used SCI-Simmons Construction several times this past year with home repairs after the first heavy rain storm. They fixed three of our living room and bedroom windows that were leaking. Dion and Don were both really great in the work quality they did. Dion did did the carpentry work on the window frames outside the house. Don replaced our window sills and inside framing. This is the best, most dependable construction company I have ever dealt with. We did a complete master bedroom/bath reconstruction after water damage. Ryan managed the project and kept everything on schedule, always kept us informed about what was going on and dealt with our insurance adjuster. We had a 6 week delay getting a whirlpool tub that wasn't defective but when it came in they were there the next day to resume working. Wyatt and the whole crew are very professional and curtious. After the new carpet was installed they either wore booties over their shoes or switched between indoor and outdoor shoes. Don, the onsite manager, is a true gem. The Project Manager, Ryan, was very knowledgeable and prepared a detailed proposal for the work to be done. I had a couple of pieces of siding torn off in recent storms, both around 20 feet off the ground in a hard to access area. The job was done quickly and professionally. The spot was hard to access, but these guys got up there and fixed everything. They also stapled some other loose boards around the area where the boards were missing. Highly recommended, great job. SCI fixed our home after a pipe broke in our bathroom ceiling causing the ceiling to fall in and do damage into the bedroom. It was the middle of summer, our AC was also broken and the pandemic made it complicated. All the contractors were great and wore masks. They kept things tidy and showed up when they said they would. The only reason I'm doing 4 stars instead of 5 is that there was a lack of communication about cleaning the rug. I found out that it was because their truck was out of service. After talking to Ed he gave us a discount for that part and it all worked out okay. So yes I would recommend them. read more

We used Simons Construction for a water damage project years ago, and thought they did a decent job. However, when we used them later for a major dry rot removal project, they ended up charging us thousands more than it otherwise would have cost us. Furthermore, Simons said the job was complete, so I paid them and put the house on the market. After accepting an offer to sell the house, I found out that Simons did not do all the repairs they billed me for. And this ended up costing me about $20,000 because we had to reduce the price of the house as the buyers otherwise would have backed out. Then Simons said that they did not need to do all they had agreed to do in writing. It was a mistake for us to use them for that last project. read more

CSI contacted the testing company and then took care of the mold remediation. They removed the affected drywall, studs and flooring in order to make repairs. My wife's co-worker recommended SCI to us. We need some facia repaired on our house. I called and a rep came to the house the next day. We discussed the job for about 5 minutes and he said he needed to have his roofer look at it. Three days later I texted him to ask status, he said the roofer would call me. I replied that he could just come by without an appointment if he wanted, as it's an outside job and I'd keep our dogs in the house. No reply. After a total of 8 days passed from his initial (and only) visit, I texted him to say I would find someone else. He replied and apologized, saying his roofer couldn't contact me. I had missed no calls or texts, so I know he never tried. This was a waste of more than a week. SCI might do good work, but I'll never know. read more

I called Simons to have a contractor come out and take a look at a house we were in escrow on. Ed came out promptly the next day to give us a free estimate on adding a bathroom to the house. We talked about the bathroom addition and a few other remodeling items. The estimates he gave us were very fair and competitively priced. He also pointed out what he thought was a major structural issue with the roof, which was sagging. We followed his recommendation to have a structural engineer check the place out. The repairs needed ended up being too extensive for us and we let the place go.
