Very, very happy with the service and product. Contractor kept in contact with us before, during, and afterwards. Beautiful, durable flooring to replace high priced but poorly manufactured carpet that had started to decay shortly after installation by one of the big box stores that subcontracted the work. I should have gone with this local, well-established business a long time ago. Price was about the same as the big box store but with quality installation. Appreciate their taking the time to educate us on the various products available and where they work best. We will absolutely use them again if the need arises. read more

We ended up with about 20% too much flooring than we needed. After looking back at our notes; I don't think it was their fault. However they would not take the extra materials back. (Which is their policy). Just be sure to order VERY carefully, so you don't get stuck with a bunch of extra flooring. The flooring looks great and installed nicely. It is a little more prone to scratching than other floors we have lived with. I would use them again if they could recommend a flooring that doesn't scratch so easily. read more

We are new to the area and wanted to match our tile kitchen floor to the rest of the first floor's engineered hardwood. This was going to be tricky -- the old floor had to come up and the new floor feathered in over a wide area. Additionally, the engineered hardwood used throughout the house had been discontinued. The whole team at Flooring Outlet was stellar from start to finish. They located the small supply of original flooring still left, worked with the vendor to reserve what we needed while we made up our mind, then arranged for a very fast delivery. Their installations were booked eight weeks out, but they found the small window we needed and we were able to get installation scheduled within two weeks! We would not be in town but, by this time, we had total faith in the folks at Flooring Outlet and happily let them come into the house and do the work without us there. When we came back to town, an absolutely gorgeous piece of work was waiting for us. There is no way to tell where the old and new floor meet; the trim around the cabinets is perfect and the whole space was clean as a whistle. It was an amazing, amazing job at a more than fair price. I am so pleased with the results of working with the team at Flooring Outlet. I worked with them to select a high quality engineered hardwood flooring for the kitchen and living spaces in my new home, and a snazzy carpet for all the bedrooms and office. Tina was extremely helpful to show me a variety of products, across all price points; and to assist in narrowing down my selections. I was able to borrow many samples to take and see how they looked in my home. She was very timely in generating a detailed quote for materials and installation; and then scheduling the installation, subsequently. The installers were absolutely amazing. They arrived on time, extremely friendly and explained every part of the installation; and even finished ahead of schedule. The hardwood floors are absolutely gorgeous and really brightened up the living space with a very classy look! As for amazing... the lead installer was so diligent that he had rolled out the entire carpet, before install, only to notice a few stains, from manufacturing. He quickly pointed these out to me (honestly, I probably would not have noticed them); and then he contacted Tina. While we had ripped out the old carpet already; Tina assured me they would remedy the situation: 1) install the new carpet, with the stain; 2) contact the supplier to replace the ENTIRE piece and re-install. So, in a few weeks, when they get the new carpet from the supplier; they will replace the one LARGE section covering the hallway and master bedroom. At no cost to me. That is amazing customer service!!! The installer was so adamant about no seams/cuts. He HAD to have just one piece run the entire hallway and throughout the master. It looks gorgeous, now; and I am sure it will again, after he installs the replacement too. We looked at it and some of the flooring didn't match the sample we picked. We called Tina who was on vacation, and she immediately said no problem. She made all the phone calls. In December I decided it was time for the carpet in my bedrooms to go. I decided to check out Flooring Outlet based on the reviews. Those reviews were not wrong! Every step of this process was wonderful. Vanessa helped me choose the right flooring based on what I told her I was looking for and some pictures I had brought in. I needed to ensure the transition to my travertine tile in other rooms was not jarring. I was able to take a few samples home to make sure the colors where 100% correct. The work was scheduled for early January, which was earlier than I had expected. The guys were courteous, informative and did an amazing job. Not only was their pricing competitive, but Tina Holland went out of her way to make the process easy for us, coming out to measure during a holiday week, providing reasonable prices for moving our furniture and removing/replacing/repainting the baseboards, and getting it all done in the two weeks when were not using the house. Very disappointed to have driven 35 minutes to discover a closed gate during business hours and no one in sight. Nor was there a sign indicating a change in hours for the day or a recorded message stating the closure. We were very eager to come up and choose flooring and this was our day to do it. I see from another reviewer this has happened recently to them as well. I have compassion for the owners who seem to be having family issues as stated in the reply to the other review, but some sort of notice to prevent us from spending over an hour in the car today for nothing would go a long way! Highly suggest calling first and do not make the trip unless you have received confirmation of their hours for that specific time and day. I am sure they offer a great selection and quality installation; we just don't know if we will be able to make it back up when they are open. read more

Using North County Flooring Outlet in Paso Robles was the best decision we ever made! To begin with, our house already had all the bedrooms and hallway in 3 inch oak flooring. We wanted to do the dining room but knew we no longer could get this type of flooring. Rick went out of his way checking every source imaginable to find a match! Incredible! The two young men who installed the floor were exceptionally good plus very polite and friendly and the floor is beautiful. When Rick was at our house measuring for the installation, we had mentioned that we would need help moving our large, heavy china cabinet. Guess what! The day after the installation, on Saturday (Valentine's Day), Rick and his wife Lisa came to our house to see the floor and move the china cabinet for us! We were absolutely shocked! I have mixed feelings about this business. The products were very nice, the people were very nice, but the installation of wood flooring (engineered hand-scraped Brazilian cherry) left A LOT to be desired. The installers had difficulty showing up on time and although the floor generally looks pretty, they didn't do a very good job of leveling the floor in many places so there are dips and MANY, MANY squeaks (which are very annoying). When the owners were contacted, they voiced concern and sent the guys back out and "fillers" were put in, the floor isn't any better than it was in the beginning. They also installed 5" baseboards that really don't look professionally done at all. There are gaps, they didn't seal the seams, there are nails protruding in a few places, etc. Anyway, bottom line, I would not recommend having them do installation...disappointed, but feel worn down and tired of trying to get them back AGAIN to TRY to get things fixed. read more
