We wanted to use someone from the local area. The service center was very good and the choices and prices good. However, their installation was subpar based on my experiences. They dinged and marked the walls in numerous areas ( were not very careful taking the carpet in and out of the freshly painted house). Company installed new flooring over old vinyl which they said they had removed. They did not which was discovered a few days after the installer left and a new dishwasher was attempted to be installed.Impossible to get dishwasher in or out because of additional height. Flooring company, both Ethan and Jonnie stated the dishwasher installer was incompetent and should never be allowed to go back and install dishwasher. At the second attempt for dishwasher delivery by same company but a different appliance installer, l hired my own handyman to monitor the situation. The only way the old dishwasher would come out and the new one go in was by slightly raising the countertop. This is NOT standard procedure nor recommended. Flooring company continues to state problem is with appliance vendors and delivery , have hired an attorney to send me all kinds of of threats including putting a lien on my house even though it should be noted that within 5 days of the end of the job l had already paid them 80% of the total bill. This company does not understand communication, customer service nor honesty. Instead they hire an attorney to handle their mess and intimidate clients. read more

I cant believe in this time in our lives I would be writing a negative yelp for a business. When we first bought our flooring everything was good, Ethan was very nice. John laid our flooring and put the joints to tight, which then we had to replace an area, again Ethan was very helpful. When the floor was purchased he knew where the floor was going an has put this LVP flooring in a lot of homes he claimed. Well, 2 plus years later the flooring started to warp up on seams, i called Ethan he wanted to help us with Shaw flooring to get them to help out. Inspector came out and i allowed Ethan to open up my home for the inspector, very appreciated. He opened my drapes and door, which happened to be a beautiful day. Inspector blamed the sun is the culprit for the floor to warp like this. Shaw denied any claims. Asked Ethan again for his help and all of a sudden he turned, be aware! Lied and said my window is always open and the sun is on the floor all day, and that he can see from his home. First there is no way he can see that window from his house (creepy). And then stated he never put floor down in front of a slider (to the floor window) he said, so that is why the floor warped. My window and curtains are always closed when we are not there and Ethan lied he never opened the window and curtains which i have proof of this but Ethan started yelling at me, lying horribly i was absolutely shocked. I hung up on him so upset someone would talk like that , especially owning a business in such a small town. I don't know why he is pulling this on me, how does a company lie about a floor he sold and installed. I am so disappointed, and i wanted to warn others. Shame on you, this is not a good time in anyone's life, to not help your customers and to lie. I expect an apology Ethan. I will have to go further with this unfortunately to get my flooring repaired. And to find my own warranty which you denied me of, and said get online. huh?? When I met Ethan, I felt that I found a flooring person who was a straight shooter. Then I found out the prices and quality products that they carried and I thought that I found a jewel of a flooring company. I found that Ethan was very knowledgable and up front with me, unfortunately that was where things went downhill. We scheduled a date for the flooring to be installed, and when the date came, no one showed up. I called the shop and left a message on their recorder. The following day I received a call letting me know that the flooring was back ordered and we'll have to reschedule. Apparently they didn't think to call beforehand, saving me from taking an additional day off work. The carpet installers were awesome, and fast when the carpet came in. The wood flooring installer wasn't nearly as impressive. He took his sweet time installing it, and made multiple mistakes and decided to cover it up rather than fix the flaw. We have called both the installer and Ethan , and have yet to see a resolution. So to sum it up, the product they sell is great, the people are really nice, but they don't do what they say they're going to do, and their communication skills could use some work. read more

When our kitchen remodel turned into a whole house remodel, flooring became a serious cost issue. We spent some time researching floor materials and local flooring stores/installers and ended up going with Flooring Discount Center in Morro Bay. We wanted an engineered Hickory with a polyurethane finish; not cheap, but they beat everybody else's price by a pretty wide margin. Because of the different projects going on, the flooring had to be installed in stages; Ethan (owner) and Daniel (installer) were very flexible and willing to work with our schedule. Daniel is a real perfectionist and the floors turned out beautiful when finished. Then, six weeks later, a pipe in our kitchen sprang a leak; water ran down a wall and under our new floors, staining and ruining a wide area. Ethan came out and assessed the damage, and worked with us on the insurance claim. Daniel and a coworker came out, and after they finished the repair, we really can't see that there was ever any damage at all. Looking back, I am very impressed with Discount Flooring Center. It is a family owned and run business run by good people that that really care about their customers. They handle quality products at a good price, do great quality installs, and they've got your back if there is a problem. Who could ask for more? read more
