To say that Lee and his crew at Couch Potato Morro Bay went above and beyond with my order this week would be a huge understatement. When I ordered a new mattress and box spring, Lee said he would drain and haul away our water mattress. That proved to be quite a major and time-consuming effort. But he did it and he and his crew hauled it away and installed the new mattress. They also delivered a beautiful new chair. Purchased a sofa from Couch Potato online. Plain and simple, getting our delivery was held off an extra couple of days because of miscommunication, we understood and that was fine. The day the sofa arrived, we found what looks like burnt holes under the seats of the couch. The legs of the couch seemed to be dragged and scuffed up a bit. But the arm rest on the side of the couch is not even fully connected and wiggles and is basically dangling off, which was forced us to put that section of the couch against a wall. Which was also due to the fact that the sofa on the pictures had the long sectional piece on the left side which works with our home, but the sofa that we received has the long sectional piece on the right side, something that looks funky in our living room and not what we were expecting. We called to get out money back and the "person in charge" said we cannot get out money back for this faulty unit. But that we could get an exchange free of cost. We agreed and got an estimated time of 4-6 weeks for the new couch to arrive. It is now the 7th week, still no sofa. I called back once again for them to take the sofa back and return us the money and the "person in charge" this time angrily replied. " I have told you before you're not getting your money back for the couch and we have been nice enough to exchange it". Nice enough? To exchange a product that is broken? Burnt? And does not match the set up that it had in the pictures? Waiting on our new sofa still... when we first dealt with them at the start of the purchase, management was helpful and nice. When we brought up our concerns they turned into rude, and unwilling to help people. read more

I must admit, Couch Potato was my last choice stop for couch shopping. I've previously purchased from couch potato (in slo) and didn't particularly enjoy my experience. That said, I AM SO GLAD I WENT TO COUCH POTATO IN MORRO BAY!!! Yes, I meant to yell that. Our experience here was top notch...not pushy, not stuffy, not pretentious. We got what we wanted (within reason) and enjoyed our time there. Bill was very informative and helpful for choosing the best sofa for our needs without trying to show us options out of our price range. He was great and because of him, I'd return in a heart beat. Two weeks later- our recliners came in and we're delivered by Caleb and Patrick. We have a small upper level apartment with narrow stairs but they made their best efforts to bring them in considering the tight space. I needed to find a new couch in an urgent way because the house I was living in I just discovered had black mold and I had to get rid of all my fabric Furniture so as not to bring it to my new location. In fact, for almost a week after I moved I had to sit on the floor while watching TV until I walked into Couch Potato hahaha! I had decided to go to a few furniture stores but I went to Couch Potato first and I'm so glad I did! First of all Chelsea rocked my world and really helped me out and hooked me up gave me a great deal on a floor model. She also herself with her own bare hands helped me load up the couch into my friend's truck. I was looking for a reclining couch. I went all around the county and they had the best prices and the best selection. Chelsea was really great to deal with. No high pressure sales tactics, I went back to the same store 3 times before I figured out what I wanted. She was really patient and let me take my time. My new couch was purchased and received in about a month. The delivery went very smoothly. The delivery guys were quick and professional. They called me Thursday to schedule delivery on Saturday. We needed a new couch. We liked the Ashley Metcalf power recliner sofa we found in the Morro Bay store. We compared couch potato price to other local stores and internet stores and found it a bit higher. We thought about it for a week or two and then went back to the store and asked if they would price match the the price in the other local store. We gave them a print out showing the other stores price. Bill Smith, the store manager, was able to match the price saving us about $500. We bought and paid for the couch and they said delivery would be approximately 2 to 4 weeks. (Couch potato offers free delivery and setup). We were surprised when Couch Potato called after a week and a half saying it was in. The delivery men brought the couch in and put it in position and assembled the backs to the couch base. They plugged it in and It works perfectly. One thing... Be sure you ask for the assembly and troubleshooting paperwork.... Since they did not offer to give the paperwork to us. Since the couch is in the middle of the room we did not want cords leading to the couch. We bought the Lismoss mc-160 battery pack on Amazon. Now we have no cords.... We just need to charge the battery every couple weeks. I will need to buy a second battery or a Y cable since each recliner end is powered separately with its own power supply. read more

Kudos to Chelsea, she worked with us in determining the right couch for our small space and difficult entry (we have a narrow stairway) and even went across the parking lot to consult with their warehouse person. And delivery men Patrick and Caleb were GREAT, it was their last delivery of the day and they were tired, but they were upbeat and brought it up the stairs and assembled in record time. A great team! Although the experience started off quite positive at the store itself, our experience with the delivery process for the couch we purchased was an absolute nightmare. Attempting to schedule a delivery took well over a week. When we finally were able to schedule the delivery, the couch we selected could not fit up our stairway. One of the delivery men used foul language the whole time trying to get the couch up the stairs. Then told us we should have measured better. And when they determined it could not fit, they simply left us with the couch in our entry way and told us to figure it out. I called the store and they said they would assist us and never did. I had to call a moving company who helped us hoist the couch over our balcony in less than 5 minutes. And had to pay $220 out of pocket. I would not recommend this store to anyone who would like to be treated as customers should be treated. read more

We were shopping for a new bedroom set for our home in Morro Bay, so we started our search locally at the Couch Potato. We immediately fell in love with a set on the showroom floor, but it wasn't the size we needed, and the size we needed wasn't available in the color we wanted. Then Chelsea came to our rescue. She searched through the catalog, called the manufacturer, called the other stores, and even volunteered to come in to meet with us on her day off.
