About 3 weeks ago I was advised to seek a Dermatologist regarding pre cancer spots on my face. I immediately called Premiere Dermatology & Laser Center as their office was recommended and I live in close proximity. The 1st call was pleasant; I divulged my name, address, INSURANCE INFORMATION, and concerns. I was immediately book for an appointment on 11/15/2016 at 1:45PM and directed to the web site to complete all my paperwork on line (took about 30 minutes), which I did within a day or 2. Ahhhh.....this paperwork also required all my INSURANCE information again. No call, no email, no word from this office until a few hours before my appointment today. Well, much to my dismay, someone from the office called to say that they don't accept my insurance and I would need to pay cash if I wanted to keep the appointment. What the Heck!!! What Dr.'s office calls a patient ON THE DAY of their appointment and informs them their insurance isn't valid at their office???? Is this a bait and switch so they make more money??? Find another office who knows what they are doing. BTW I I found Jessica Hsu, Fullerton, great Dermatologist, in Fullerton who booked me for 12/8/2016 and actually checked to make sure my insurance was valid. read more

I took my daughter here a few years ago to get rid of a red vein on her face. We first saw a Nurse Practicioner who had no clue what's she's talking about then she asked if I would like to see Dr. Cobos. Of course! I saw Dr. Cobos who was knowledgeable and friendly and she recommended Vbeam but guess what? She wasn't the one performing the actual procedure. She handed it off to the Nurse Practioner who she assured me had lots of experiences with children. I was a little hesitant. I should have trusted my instincts because $275 & 3wks later, the red vein was still on her face. So I told Dr. Cobos I was very disappointed with the results and Dr. Cobos offered to do the procedure herself but she charged me another $275 even though I told her it was the Nurse Practioner's incompetant and bad aim! Anyways, I went ahead and did it after traveling so far and paying for the 1st one already. It went away after the 2nd time but I felt that if Dr. Cobos was to do it herself the 1st time, it would have saved my daughter the pain/discomfort, some money and time! read more

This doctor spent a whole 3 minutes before she started recommending her products and prescribing lots of medications. She didn't even recommend lab work. I ran out of there as fast as I could knowing that there was more going on and she refused to look at the whole person. Not only do I have rosacea, I possibly have lupus and I definitely have thyroid issues. (My new dermatologist was thorough in his examination. Thanks Doc for nothing. She should be working for a high end plastic surgeon not practicing medicine. read more

The only reason to come to Premiere Dermatology is for Solvina & Gerry. No need to see the Dr. Solvina has been my trusted esthetician of choice for the past few years and she is phenomenal. My skin is in the best shape it has ever been in. She won't try to sell you products you don't really need and will be totally upfront about what you do need. Gerry is a wiz with a needle and she will make you look natural & beautiful, not frozen & plastic. The front office people are another story. They lack the knowledge and professionalism that one would expect in an upscale office. No one ever seems to know how to access the computers correctly and are frequently making errors on my account. I personally find this to be a minor inconvenience due to the mad skills of my girls Solvina and Gerry!! As long as they are here, I will be too. :) read more

I finally found a dermatologist that I'm comfortable with. I saw Erin, the P.A.,who did a full body check for skin cancer. She had to "freeze" some pre cancerous spots and told me exactly what to expect before she did the procedure. She answered any questions I had and took her time, no rush job. Went to a LabCorp and had some difficulty with paperwork on a Saturday. Called Dr. Cobos's office at 7:30 in the morning and got through to Dr. Cobos herself! She had the lab paperwork faxed right away and made my day. As someone who has previously worked in Customer Service for over 10 years, I must say that Premiere Dermatology is on top of their patient relations game. Exceptional experience ! I recently moved to Orange County from Hollywood, and had to say goodbye to my Doctors because the distance was too much for me. Finding a new Derm office worked out perfectly. There is a great sense of professionalism and care throughout the office, not once did I feel that products or procedures were being pushed on me. Which if I am honest I cant say that about the Doctors I used to see in Hollywood or Beverly Hills. I have been to Dr. Cobos office for a variety of procedures on my skin, i.e. detection of skin cancer, precancerous spot detection, hair removal, facials, and skin rejuvenation. The doctor and the PA are always available to speak with me about my skin concerns. Gerrie, nurse and magician, has been a godsend. She knows exactly what I want and always produces the effect and dresses my concerns. The front office staff is super friendly and helpful from the moment I walk in until the moment I leave. I have been there now 4 different times, 2 for botox, 2 for facials. Both times, there were no issues. Yes, she is a doctor, yes she is very busy, and yes it will take 2 months to get in to see her.... but guess what, all doctors are like that!!! Dr. C was nice and helpful both times. I first visited this office for cosmetic procedures. Was very pleased with the outcome. A few years later as I turned into my mid 30's I started to get Acne. Not just Acne but the worst kind you can imagine. The Kind that you want to hide from the world cause it's so bad. I purchased 100's of dollars of Makeup and products from Sephora, Mac and even other Dermatologist. NOTHING was helping, in fact it was getting worse by the day. I was originally referred by a friend who has been a long time patient of Dr. Cobos. I consider myself a very picky person, and I LOVE this place. I cannot say enough good things about it! I've tried various services and always have had an awesome experience. In the year and a half that I've been a client, I've come to consider much of the staff members as friends... even hugging goodbye until we see each other again at my next appointment. I've had services that are both covered by my insurance as well as out of pocket and never had a problem either way. So i went in to get a look at a nagging skin rash that wouldn't go away. They recommended me me some prescriptions I waIted a month and nothing changed. I called them back up and the receptionist was actually really helpful. She squeezed me in last minute to help before a wedding. They charged me again to see the doctor which i thought was unfair bc i wouldt have had to go back if the job was done correctly the first time. Anyway, i paid it. They recommended i keep doing the same thing. I stressed that what you recommended isn't working i don't think more of it will fix the problem. Then she says ok i will get you a prescription for a pill. Took the three pills and nothing changed. My brother recommended apple cider vinegar. BOOM. That worked. Overall was not happy about the entire experience. I would say save your money and go to the other doctors in the area. Only reason they have availability is bc they aren't very good. read more

First of all, she was late, I waited in the lobby for half an hour, then waited in the room for at least 20 minutes longer. Then some skinny girl with stringy black hair and a lot of work done came in the room and started to sell me products and procedures I didn't ask about. She was very cold and pushy, and I didn't appreciate it. When the doctor FINALLY came in, she seemed preoccupied and stressed out, and just wrote me up a prescription for a cream and some pills to help with acne. Then proceeded to try and sell me the laser the assistant tried to sell me which I wasn't interested in. That ended the visit and she left. OMG this place is such a hard sale. They don't care about their patients, they just care about their wallets. When I came out of the room to leave, I witnessed her being rude to one of her employees in front of everyone. I went there for the doctor to clear up my acne, but I couldn't stop looking at her skin, which was not clear. If she can't fix her own skin then why would I use her products or get a laser from her? If you are looking for a professional dermatology center, then keep looking because this is not the place. read more

Came here for a sudden rash and was able to get in same day. Dr. Cobos was awesome, very friendly very personable and listened to me about my issue. Her treatment worked and I was rash free in two days; she knows her stuff. Staff also was able to squeeze me in later that week despite having to double book me to get in. So, I have gone through waves of having awful AWFUL skin to skin that I tolerate. Then I met Kieran. Kieran has literally changed my life. I am neeeevvveeerrr the girl who's skin people just compliment! And more people have said out of the blue how even and smooth my skin is. Kieran gave me a couple of glycolic peels and extractions and specific instructions on what to do when I'm away from the office and now my skin has been acne free for months! Sometimes...I even leave the house without (wait for it) MAKEUP. It's an incredible feeling to know that my skin looks the bomb. I can't wait to go back to the office so she can see the magic that has taken place on my face. The best part is...I don't have a gazillion products. She really simplified everything for me. BONUS: the ENTIRE staff is SO amazing and friendly and welcoming and nonjudgmental and uplifting which is ssoooo necessary since going to the dermatologist can be such a vulnerable experience. This review is for Keiren. It is difficult to express exactly what Keiren has done for me this past year. Let me start at the beginning... I have had acne ever since I can remember. I have been to multiple dermatologists, taken prescription medications (which always gave me side effects, so I discontinued), used every different type of skin system from "low end" to "high end" (out of sheer desperation) and have even tried holistic methods. I have never had beautiful skin which would allow me to go "naked" face out in public. But as bad as I had it, something worse happened last year. This past fall my skin hit its all time low. I recently had a birthday (close to 30 ;D) and I was literally COVERED in breakout. Clusters of breakout. It was disconcerting because it would not go away, and would multiply quickly, but it was also extremely uncomfortable due to how extensive it was. I was absolutely embarrassed and dreaded going into work every day. The patients I work with would constantly "suggest" great ideas to help me clear up, if that gives you any idea at how bad it was. I was not able to get away without wearing a heavy foundation to attempt to cover up my skin. I saw Dr. Cobos briefly and ended up purchasing a package of three chemical peels with the aesthetician. I did not want to go in for these. I even tried to sell my package to coworkers and friends. The day came when I either went in, or lost the money invested (which was actually an extremely reasonable price for 3 chemical peels). My first chemical peel opened up the gates of heaven, in my opinion. I saw the transformation via a photo diary I would take after each visit. Keiren was extremely informative from the very first visit, took time to answer my questions, address my fears, and did not ever make me feel that I was being rushed out. She even helped when I called back a few days later with MORE questions. She made me feel comfortable with this process that was so foreign to me. She suggested products that made sense. She sent me home to try a trial vial of a product. I have never been so fortunate than to find someone who actually takes the time to talk and discuss what MY needs are. How to recover from MY personal breakouts. I felt comfortable with her. I know that she is not in this for the money; she is truly in this field because this is what she loves to do. Guess what? Three chemical peels later and there is nary a breakout. I walk around naked face every single day because I can. I cannot believe this... Keiren transformed my adult life by letting me LOOK LIKE AN ADULT. Without zits. They have always been caring and professional, yet when I saw the way they treated my daughter during her facail procedures I knew I was in the right place. The main concern from the front to back office staff was her comfort. Kristie and Emily run a very pleasant front office and will always go above and beyond to fit your schedule. Scam, Horrible Business Practice. Stay Away!!! After waiting several weeks to get an appointment, my 20 year old daughter arrived in the Premiere Dermatology & Laser Center. Upon completing new patient paperwork, they asked her to write down a credit card number on the back of a form. Write it down, for everyone who has access to paperwork to see?...When my daughter told them she did not have a credit card, they asked for mine. What?! I am not the patient. I am not the responsible party. When I refused, they refused to see her. My daughter has excellent insurance (PPO) and of course is willing to pay her co payment and all services not covered by insurance at check out. But we didn't even get the chance to check in! In today's day and age with credit card fraud, and consumers constantly being warned about protecting their credit card information, I cant believe this not only their practice, I am questioning if its even legal. With all of the Privacy Protection Acts in place, HIPAA, GLB (Gramm-Leach-Bailey), PCI compliance, credit card encryption practices, you would think storing ones credit card information on a piece of paper would be insane to ask for, and better yet, crazy to expect compliance. To add insult to injury, they wouldn't see my daughter if she didn't write down a credit card number. Needless to say we walked out. Our identities are our assets and it is incumbent upon each of us to trust less and be diligent in protecting our personal identifying information. I will contact the BBB to verify this practice is still legal in the state of California. I guess the Hippocratic Oath does not apply here. read more

This is the first time I've ever written a review. I decided to write this one because I've been so upset since I saw this doctor. I don't want anyone else to have a bad experience like I had. Do not go to this doctor. She is terrible. They are all about the $$$. I went to this doctor for the first time in April 2014. I got her name off of my health insurance website. She was the doctor who could see me the earliest. Now I know why. That night before my appointment I started reading the reviews on Yelp and other websites. Some of the reviews were very negative. After reading the negative reviews I did not want to go to my appointment. But, by then, it was too late to give a 24 hours notice. That was my first mistake. I drove to Brea to see her. I drove past her office and saw a big picture of her on the front of the building. What kind of person does that? I should have just turned around and went home. I went to see this doctor to do a full body check of my moles for skin cancer. I also had some questions about my Rosacea. My skin has been very dry and irritated because of the medication I'm taking. She came into the room and said she wanted to check my moles first. She looked at my face, hands and arms. She wasn't very personable or friendly. She never asked me if I had any questions. All of a sudden she comes out with a freezing gun. She caught me off guard. I don't remember her asking me permission to do this. She froze a small growth on the side of my right hand. She also froze a growth on my left arm. Then she wanted to freeze a brown spot or freckle on my nose. I've had this for years but it had gotten darker from the sun. I was taken aback. I did not know that you could do this. She assured me if she froze it, it would gradually get darker and then peel off. Well she started blasting my nose. She accidentally missed and hit the side of my nose. She then sprayed my nose two more times. All the while I was thinking what is she doing to me? She was so aggressive. I have had lesions frozen before but it was never like this. She then sprayed a lesion on my forehead but she sprayed it very lightly. She then said she wanted to remove four moles. I was uncomfortable at this point and didn't want her doing anything else so I told her I would come back later. I also asked her what kind of products she recommended for my skin. I have very fair, sensitive skin with freckles. I also have Rosacea and Sjogren 's syndrome. She sent another lady into the room wanting to sell me over $800.00 worth of products. They also wanted to sell me three sessions of acid peels. There is no way I could do that to my skin. I then realized that everything said on the internet was true. She has to make money to pay for her fancy new building. I got home and my nose formed two big scabs on it. There was a piece of skin just above the one scab that peeled off. After ten days the scabs came off. My nose is discolored where the scab was. The side of my nose looks like a layer of skin was taken off. She got overspray all down the front of my nose. The skin keeps peeling on my nose. I feel like she has damaged the skin permanently. It has been over two months and my skin is still reacting to it. I can barely cover it up with make-up. I wish I had never let her touch my face. I also got a big blister on my right hand where she froze a small growth. It is discolored and I will probably have a scar. Never assume having several awards mean anything when it comes to choosing a Dr. And never be impressed with nicely decorated interior because what really matters in the end is the result of your procedures. It was a big lesson indeed. The sales lady was the first to review my profile and intro me to all these sales package. That should have been the first clue that this place cares more about your wallet. After sales lady left, Dr. C came in. I was surprised to see that she had some marks on her face...kind of like brown spot but it was concealed with makeup so I couldn't figure out what it was. She like the sales lady recommended dual fraxel. She said she tested it on herself and got great results. I couldn't stop staring at her spots when she said that. It was very expensive package they were offering(I already compared the price with other places) but I decided to go ahead with it because I thought all the listed awards Dr. C earned were credible. Never again will I come here again and I urge many of you to think twice about coming here for laser treatment. After the first treatment of dual fraxel, I didnt get any result...absolutely nothing...I couldn't believe this expensive supposedly guaranteed laser treatment did nothing for my brown spots. So Dr said result will be seen after second session. So I go in for second treatment few weeks later. Unbelievable, I got more brown spots and it looked odd like the ones Dr C had on her face. I was sooo upset and they kept telling me it takes time to see results. After several months, my brown spot never got lightened...it only got darker and ended up getting worse. I went in to complain and the Dr was not in but sales lady said that its strange that I didnt get the results. I couldn't believe the way they just brushed me off after that. Never go for dual fraxel and never come here for any treatment because if the Dr cant do it right on her own face then you know something is not right. They just only care about money and once theyve got it, they dont care at all about how bad the result is. The problem with this office is that you never know if you will be seeing the Dr. Herself, or a physician's assistant. The assistants are inexperienced. Another problem, everyone is always asking "What are we doing for you today?" Can't they keep records? I was there for skin cancer, and got the sales pitch for everything else. They don't accept personal checks, and require a "blank check" credit card to bill now & for future services. Their practice is overcharge for everything. Good Luck getting a refund if you give them your credit card and believe they overcharged. I loved this Dr. In the beginning. Now, I'm going elsewhere. Huge disappointment. I spent $1700 and was told that the package that I purchased would help my acne and that I would "love my complexion" after getting the peels and laser. I completed my treatment and have NO improvement. My acne is just as bad if not worse than before I started treatment. I am posting this to help others. I wish I knew it would not help at all before spending a TON of money. When I complained that my acne has not improved I was then told I would need "ongoing treatment" and I would need to purchase another package- this time I was quoted an additional $2000!! Wow.
