I wanted to reschedule the appointment she made to see if I could be seen even sooner. I called the number for the Chevy Chase location several times throughout the day for a same day appointment. The receptionists were rude, cut me off and seemed inconvenienced. They kept saying they didn't have appointments. I called the number listed for the Silver Spring location and the woman immediately found me a appointment at the Chevy Chase location.... Which was extremely strange. I was already nervous about the appointment, but this interaction had me even more worried. Turns out they use a call center! I had a little bit of trouble finding the office, but it is in the lower level of the building. I was greeted by a SUPER friendly receptionist who was patient and didn't rush me through filling out the initial paperwork. My appointment was with Dr. Singa. He immediately could tell how nervous I was and made an appoint to easy my nerves. He answered all of my questions and explain to me what was happening in layman terms. He seemed genuinely concerned about how I was feeling. I was especially nervous about having a male doctor, but I cannot explain how at ease I felt at the end of the appointment. He walked me to the receptionist to check out and made sure I had an email to contact him at if I had any questions. I told Maria at reception about the horrible experience of making the appointment and she gave me an email to contact the Chevy chase location directly. I would have taken a star off for the call center but that just wouldn't be fair to the Chevy Chade location.

As a healthcare worker myself who understands the charges and diagnostic codes of a clinic, I was able to inquire on the codes and itemized bill only to find out this is simply a false claim. I've paid an unknown amount in hidden fees and charges. They are amazing at reminding you that you have a bill that must be paid otherwise it will reach collections. Yet, when it comes to contacting someone regarding this false claim, suddenly no one has an answer and it has been a year that this has been differed and given to a supervisor for "review". The second I mentioned involving lawyers, my phone calls are no longer being answered. *** Also, Mariano with the billing department was probably the least helpful rep I've ever communicated with. Picking up the phone like he hates the job (no one is forcing you to work there). Then, once I've expressed why I called, he hung up on me. I shortly returned the call 4 times only to either have no answer or to have my call answered then hung up. *** Simply disgusting. 0/5 if I can.

I was very sick in a 2.5 year flare and Dr. Cohen cured me!!! I was told by previous physicians my only solution would be surgery multiple times, but Dr. Cohen did her research and we tried another combination of therapies, that have been working so well! She tried these new combinations of therapies with very close monitoring. She is so smart and experienced but ensures she explains everything in patient friendly terms, very comprehensively, practicing shared decision making as well. Our first appointment we went through my whole medication/disease history to ensure she had all the information- so patient and comprehensive!! She is always very patient with all my questions and concerns, quick with follow up, and extremely comprehensive. She focuses on GI of course, but she also ensures I am update to date on all vaccines and exams (even more so than my pcp :) ), and takes the time to discuss non- GI related medical concerns with me as well. She checks in on mental health and nutrition and provides recommendations and referrals for all specialities. She is truly the best, most comprehensive physician I have ever had and I feel so grateful to be under her care!! Highly highly recommend!!!

She immediately put me at ease. She gave me several openings in which to ask questions and at the end of the visit, she told me to email her if I had any questions before my procedure. There was also a video as well as several documents offering information concerning the Covid test, the preparation for the procedure and the procedure itself. The followup to make an appointment for the Covid test and procedure went smoothly. The Covid test was administered in her office where I felt very safe--all protocols were followed, there was only one other person in the large waiting room and I only had to wait very briefly. The day of the procedure, the staff and the doctor made me feel comfortable and were all very professional. The center seems very well-run. I was treated with such care and respect. I had great trepidation about having this procedure but Dr. Cohen gave me great confidence every step of the way.

I was in between gastros, and getting pretty hopeless. The ER doc told me if he had to see a gastro, dr Gupta is who hed want. Called the next day and was seen by the end of the week. Right away I felt comfortable. He and a partner work out of a house on old Georgetown. It's not fancy, but you don't feel like you're care is being assembled in a factory! He himself escorted me to his office where we TALKED for 45 minutes. He wanted to know everything, and was nonjudgmental and receptive to opinions and anecdotes. I actually felt like a human collaborator to my treatment!!!! He was very kind. I go in for a colonoscopy tomorrow and am cheered by his use of modern prep methods (seems like if a doctor is willing to try the latest colon prep, he'd probably be willing to try the latest crohns meds!).

I am very satisfied with his service. He was always nice and took me seriously so thats awesome. During my last appointment he was five minutes and apologized profusely. HOWEVER, after my most recent experience with the office I will certainly NOT be going back. I was referred to him in the ER in 2020. I was in surgery for about 9 months (every 6 weeks). I have been trying to get in touch with him since Nov 2020 (exactly 3 years) and so far I have only been able to get connected to the office twice. I give up. Plenty of other qualified doctors in the area. There's no way he is this bad at maintaining a competent office staff and phone line department in 2023. A pigeon would have successfully arrived in 3 years with my request but not his office staff. Sidenote, I referred him to my husband who got through to his office on the first attempt (miracle) and scheduled a tele-appointment in 2021. We waited for 30 mins for him to get on the line just to find out that the office never informed us that he had decided to cancel appointments and go on a vacation. According to them, they had called us but we had never answered.

I was assured I could call back and schedule the procedure. Little did I know that I would be at the mercy of the ONE procedure scheduler that the office uses, who is so busy dealing with the phone traffic that they cannot reliably answer the phone. When I asked if there was another way I could schedule the procedure, in person or by some kind of email or patient portal , I was left a very rude message saying that I was sending the scheduler to my voicemail when I was in the middle of various processes at work and had called more than 10 times during the week at different times to try to catch them to schedule the procedure. Not only this but the front desk also had the same track record for answering the phone, as in they never answer. Guess i was lucky to get my initial appointment over the phone in the first place. Will not be returning, heading to another Gastro that actually has adequately and functioning staff. I would not give this office your patronage, they are comfortable knowing they are a much lauded office so they don't take care of patients.

Gastro Health did not follow up. And they still have to submit form to get clearance. Expecting a call back from Gastro health, which never happened. Called back and left messages. The first time the office ever called me back from original appointment in October is in January. 3 MONTHS. It was a MESSAGE to schedule the colonoscopy.
