He even found that my current furnace was wired incorrectly, causing it to run more than necessary, costing me money. Jim fixed it, no charge. He also found a supplier that charges less, and passed on that savings to me. Who does that anymore? He even cleans up.....vacuum and all! What's that saying, "A good man is hard to find!"

He texted the night before with an arrival time and I responded back with a request to text me when he was on his way to which he ignored and just showed up at my home. When he arrived, he let himself into our shed where the AC unit was (Prior to making my wife aware he was even there). He then came to the door and proceeded to have my wife call me so he could ask some questions. He asked what was going on and I explained that AHS said they had to send out a tech to assess my unit since the last tech visit was too long ago to use "previous claim" He proceeded to hand the phone to my wife while stating that he "wasnt dealing with this $hit" and walked out the door and drove off. I have never been treated so unprofessionally not to mention without cause... I proceeded to try and reach him to find out what to do next as we waited all morning for him already and he just left??? He would not take my calls and refused to respond to text messages (I will gladly show video footage of the interaction from my nest cameras as well as the screen shots of numerous requests for a response as to what we should do and what the problem was... I do not usually do negative reviews but here I am almost 3 hours later and still no response from him and AHS will not send another tech until this guy updates the work order (Which he still hasnt done). NO AC and its 89 degrees in my house and Tom was RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE. Terrible experience all the way around with this guy and to think my porr wife was scared to death that he was cursing and storming off like that, she had no idea what was happening.... see attached texts to him with no response as of now (2 hours after last text). also, I did send a courtesy text letting him know if I didnt hear back I would be doing my reviews! Still no response.

I heard long ago that an old trick is to gain your trust by pointing at rust at the bottom of the…read moreheat exchanger and frighten you into believing that it's leaking carbon monoxide and that your family will die tonight. Kreitz played that game right to the letter. What's actually occurring is (according to three trusted sources) that your A/C got low on freon, this causes water to condense and freeze. When the freon is fixed, the ice melts, which causes a little rust, and it's all perfectly harmless. He also needed a week to replace my furnace (it was 40 years old). I looked up his business address on Google Maps/Street View (try it). I tried repeatedly for four days to speak to someone about cancelling my appointment but could never get anyone to answer the phone. Worst of all, the old man's son was tagging along, so he's being taught this scheme. If we hadn't had to wait so long, or if he would have just loaned us a small space heater to get us through the cold nights, we might have had Kreitz do the job. Instead, I went to Home Depot to buy a heater. While I was there, a contractor happened to ask me as I was walking by, "Would you like a quote on a furnace?" Instead of a one-man home-based operation, I dealt with a large professional state-wide organization. The whole thing was over in less than 48 hours and on a Saturday. I paid more there. But the fact is I need reliable, long-term support and satisfaction for decades to come, not a lowball price. And a reliable furnace. And they gave me a very nice Nest thermostat.

STAY AWAY! I…read morecontacted Absotemp because my air conditioner broke -- right before a heat wave. I was told that there was a service charge of $90 and was given a 4 hour window. Matt, apparently the owner of the company, came a few minutes after the end of that window, a couple minutes after 4:00 p.m. (BTW, he smelled of pot.) When he got here, he asked what the problem was & I explained that the air conditioner wasn't working. He immediatey went to the furnace. I told him I wasn't having trouble with the furnace, it was the air conditioner. He then proceeded to tell me that they are connected, my furnace is old and inefficient, and possibly dangerous. He spent a lot of time looking at it and taking pictures. He then got a phone call and was gone for about 15 minutes. He came back and continued explaining to me about the different kinds of furnaces. I reminded him that I called him about the air conditioner. He asked what kind of thermostat I had and then he finally went to look at the air conditioner. He said that was old as well (both were probably original and from the 1970s), but he couldn't figure out when. He called someone about tracing the model, but they couldn't do it either. He then came back into the house & said he'd go into his truck and write up an estimate. An hour and a half later, I went outside to see if he was still here. All of his prices were really high. And again, it was AIR CONDITIONING repair that I contacted him about. After he asked if I had any questions, I said, "I asked you to come out because of the air conditioning. Can you do anything about it?" He huffed and went outside. He came back in after a couple minutes and said that it was the motor fan and "There's nothing I can do about, it Sweetie." :O (That was the second time he called me that!) When I asked if he had any suggestions, he said "Stay in the basement." It was not said with humor. He then asked for a check ("or an ACH") -- AND HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING except waste nearly 4 hours of my time. I had 3 other companies come out after that. Not a single one charged for an estimate, they didn't take ridiculous amounts of time, and they didn't try to oversell me. Needless to say, I chose a different company.
