Great old fashioned donuts. There pies are also good. There is not indoor seating. It is a drop in and leave kind of place. Some of the staff can be a little curt sometimes. I ordered a variety of Easter treats for Easter the cookies were amazing the lil individual egg cakes were really good. But the Easter basket cake were terrible they gave me old cake that crumbled and very stale and disappointed. I'll just stick to buying cookies and donuts cake is not like it used to be. I will never step foot in this bakery again. The women working behind the counter were absolutely rude and acted put out. I left without buying anything after a simple request was denied by them. Absolutely ridiculous, wouldn't spend a penny here ever again. read more

This is a wonderful local bakery. When we were kids, it was a special treat. So when I visit Pueblo, I make sure to stop in. I get their delicious powdered pecan sandies (like wedding cookies), frosted sugar cookies, donuts, and cream puffs. For Christmas and Easter they have Potica (Slovakian nut roll), a local tradition which everyone should have in their lives. The prices are super reasonable, and the people are really nice. read more

I had decided the night before we would get some donuts before going to our son's game to share with all the parents and spectators we watch our son's game with. So I did some doughnut research prior to taking off to find a shop that was located at the half way point of our drive. Schusters popped up, so we decided to give it a whirl. So Schusters doesn't just do doughnuts, they do all kinds of baked goods and different stuff throughout the day from what I could tell when I was there. I called ahead to make sure they would have three dozen doughnuts available since I knew they would be a smaller shop, I didn't want to put them out when we got there. They certainly had enough, so we just got a mixed bag of whatever she wanted to give us. Well we got to the game and started sharing with everyone. Someone was like "you went all the way over to that side of town for doughnuts, you know there is a Dunkin Doughnut off the highway"... The two don't even compare, and someone else stated "these are much better than anything from Dunkin". They were absolutely right! I do not eat doughnuts often, hardly ever really but these were amazing. Fresh and hand made. I highly recommend this bakery, and I really want to come back and try some of their breads. People were in there asking what time certain styles of bread would be ready, etc... So it has to be good if people are getting there early to see what the selection and times are going to be. read more

You know how you go to a bakery and everything looks delicious and incredible but when you dig in it's all pasty frosting, heavy flour based items and breakfast cereal toppings? This is not that place. Unassuming, well run and reasonably priced. Quick service and lots of options. Not many labels but the staff with guide you through the fillings and flavors if needed. Three filled long Johns, half a dozen assorted doughnuts and two small valentines cakes was under $15 with tax. I have been there twice now, first time it was a little past noon and they had only 2 types of donuts left. Got a dozen of them. They tasted amazing. And staff was friendly. Second time I was there was a bit past 11am and they had a good selection. I got a dozen with a lot of variety. And my family loved the donuts. But the staff member that waited on me this particular time wasn't pleasant at all. Seemed like she didn't want to be there and was even more displeased I was there. None of pleasantries and willingness to help like the first time I was there. She is a middle aged Caucasian lady. Thought about going in there tomorrow for donuts but might just shoot over to the National name brand chain instead. Took an orange chiffon cake, cookies and donuts to a company Christmas meeting/party which was a life saver for me to not have to cook. Everyone liked everything. I have had the orange chiffon a couple times now and I just dont like it but I know others do. I imagine that it is one of those cakes that people grow up on so it is familiar to them but to me it just tastes like sugar, and not in a good way. I was already hearing the hype about Schuster's from the locals around town so I threw the fam in the car and headed over. Ordered half a dozen and as soon as I left was already regretting not ordering 6 more! Got home, poured myself a cup a joe, grabbed my bag o goodness and wow! The glazed doughnut is always how you tell a place has skills and these glazed were delicious, sugary circles of heaven! Schuster's Banquet Bakery is an absolute staple of Pueblo. I grew up visiting this bakery for weekend treats and they've made many celebratory cakes for my family for birthdays and graduations. If you're stopping in, I would recommend picking up long-John donuts, cupcakes, frosted sugar cookies (OG are pumpkin and shamrock cookies) and an orange chiffon cake. I've never been disappointed in any item from this classic bakery, but these are my go-to staples, my favorite being the frosted sugar cookies! read more

Schusters is most aptly comparable to the Soup Nazi on Seinfeld. Their product is amazing, but their customer service absolutely sucks. It's not a single employee- it's an institutional/cultural thing. They don't need to be good at serving clients because we will keep coming back again and again regardless. In a city with little to no competition, this business model works. If there was any other decent place to get a birthday cake or iced cookies, I would go there and would immediately rescind my loyal patronage to this spot. But for now, for each birthday, Halloween, and grad party, I will keep crawling back to my abuse lover, Schusters, who treats me bad most of the time, but has the most amazing icing ever. read more

When my husband and I moved to Pueblo back in January, we never thought we'd find a place like this. We were asked to bring dessert to a party at the last minute. I had no time to make something, so I yelped bakeries around. First we went to another "trendy" bakery... but I wasn't about to pay 1.50 a cookie or 20 for a cake. I'm SO glad I wrote down the address to Schusters. Not only did we get two dozen cookies but also some donuts, and didn't even break the bank. I've been craving donuts since last July. But, there is a big difference between super processed donuts and the ones they make. When I got home and my husband and I were diving into what I call an Eclair and they call something else, idk, that I was disappointed that I had only bought two of them. I wanted like 10. A nice little bakery in Pueblo! Looks like it is straight from the 60s or something, and the people working there are also nice like they are from the 60s. Price is very affordable, which is good (because you can buy a lot without draining your wallet) and bad (you have the tendency to buy too much around the holidays...and therefore eat too much!). The baked goods are awesome--I will give them that but the customer service sucks! I offered to PAY THEM to decorate a small round (anniversary) cake and they REFUSED. I was told I had to buy a SHEET cake for any type of decoration... They did not and would not take my money to put a LEAF on the cake... On another ocassion, I went to pick up a cake I had ordered (at the agreed pick up time) and they told me that "I should KNOW that the cake decorator doesn't even arrive at that time so how could I expect the cake to be ready?" She also "suggested I make a note of the cake decorator's schedule so next time I call to set a pick up time I don't set it outside of those hours" instead of saying WE WILL INFORM OUR STAFF of the PICK UP TIMES that are AVAILABLE. Then, she would NOT take my money so that my sister-in-law could pick up the cake at a later time (since I had already left work early to go pick up the cake and could not leave again). I only go because my husband grew up in this town and he LOVES that place. I like their goods but boy do they need some customer service classes. read more

Not only can you not depend on this place to get your order correct, you can't even depend on them to make your order at all. Horrendous customer service. We put in an order of sugar cookies for my niece's birthday (three weeks in advance) that the manager told us they "never got."
