An overnight trip in Pueblo plus a really bad sweet tooth took me directly to Bite Me Cake, and I'm glad for it. I am rarely this far south so am unfamiliar with the bakery options around town; Bite Me was one of the closest, highest rated spots right near the hotel I was staying in. The photos and vibe looked really great based on others' reviews, so I decided to stop in late on a Saturday not to get my sugar fix lol. The atmosphere is fun, and the mish mash of sweets, games, and a downstairs bar I think is super unique and also makes this place more appealing for people that want to bring kids around earlier in the day. Despite going late (I think it was around 8?), the arcade was pretty full of people, which was a great sign. The bakery case and menu is at the back, and there was one very sweet girl (no pun intended lol) running the counter. Even for the time, there were lots of options that all looked like they were pretty good and not obviously stale or old from the day which I really appreciated. There is also ice cream and a refrigerator case of goodies in addition to what's shown here, as well as various beverages you can purchase. I decided to splurge on a cherry cupcake, a cheesecake cookie with cherries, and a brookie. The total was around $12 or so, which was pretty reasonable. I took my treats back to the hotel to enjoy them while watching a show, and they were all delicious! Definitely satisfied my craving for something sweet after a long day. I think this place would be very fun for a date night or a small family outing during the day, presuming it's isn't busy inside as it seems like it can easily feel crowded. Parking is available on the street and may be a bit of a challenge depending on the day and time you stop in, but the downtown area is pretty walkable and more parking accommodations can be found further away. We stopped by Bite Me Cake to play pinball and have a treat while on vacation. Our kids had a blast here! Staff was super sweet! Our son is lactose intolerant and they recommended two other shops to snag a treat at for him! Very cool spot in the Union Ave district! They have incredible ice cream with unique flavors that are switched up frequently. They of course have plenty of sweet treats to select from as well as coffees. Love their second chance cupcake deals and the critters treats. The ice cream was delicious.... But it's the PINBALL that makes this place amazing ! There's sweets and a handful of pinball machines on the main level, but the basement is where it's really at! There are about 15 additional machines down there, and just like the ones upstairs, they are in fabulous, well cared for condition. They have a bar downstairs and you can even get beer during the family time (saturdays 1-6? I think, ask them!) don't you be judging me ! A spring snow storm shut down I-25, so we stopped by the river walk area of Pueblo for the first time. We couldn't believe our luck to find a yummy cake shop just waiting for us. We got the lemon and strawberry cupcakes but I suspect flavors change daily. They are loaded with frosting, just like we prefer. The cake portion was sweet and moist. On July 9, 2020 I arrived a little after 1 p.m. with my daughter at this location to inquire about their hours. I was told that they would be open until 3 p.m. by the blonde female employee who was working there. I said I would be back to purchase some things later on since I didn't want them to melt in the car while my daughter and I were shopping. I returned to purchase cupcakes, as well as a birthday cake at 2:50 p.m. after driving back from the far north side of Pueblo and the door was locked. My daughter and I tapped on the glass for 4 minutes before the same employee came to the door and stated that they were closed at what was now 2:54 p.m. When I stated she had told me they would be open until 3, she just said she was sorry but the drawer was already done. I mentioned the time to her and the fact she had given me incorrect information and she just shrugged as though I was an inconvenience to her. It was my daughter's birthday and the cake/cupcakes were for her evening celebration of turning 17 years old. THIS PLACE COULD CARE LESS ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! I was disappointed that the cake we ordered for Father's Day was not like the other cakes we ordered in the past. I ordered the Chocolate Ganache, which we had previously. It was not the same; when I asked the guy he said "oh it is what we call our triple chocolate cake". If they changed the types of cakes since they reopened they should have said something. If I could give this establishment zero stars, I would. Our first experience with them was fabulous, they have great tasting cakes/cupcakes and did an amazing job on our wedding cake. However when we ordered a birthday cake for our daughter's first birthday, the only thing they got right was the flavor and type of frosting. They had the wrong type of decorations on it and completely left off the 'happy birthday' and her name. We were upset, but let it go because she was only one and wouldn't care. We decided to try again this year and boy was that a mistake. Due to the disaster last year, all I told them we wanted was a 2 layer, chocolate cake with buttercream frosting that was jungle/curious George theme. Easy enough right? Apparently not. When my husband went to pick it up, it was a chocolate and white cake (we wanted just chocolate), fondant frosting (which no one in our family likes), and there was no jungle theme. It was bright blue and yellow. Understandably we were very upset. The owner claimed all she could do was give us a 10% discount if we took it and if we left it we would be out the $75 deposit I had to put down. No offer to replace it with anything more suitable. I told her about our experience last year and how disappointed I was in her customer service and she still wouldn't budge saying because of the work she had put in she had to keep the deposit no matter what. I asked if we could just take it and not have to pay the other $75 that they wanted to for it and she said no, the best she could do was a 10% discount. She is the owner, I thought customer service was important to businesses driven by customers but apparently it is not. And how she, as the owner, didn't do everything she could to make up for the mistakes made is baffling to me. We were read back the order sheet and it had only half of what I had ordered. When I placed the order the girl who took it down repeated it and it was correct then. If she had been willing to let us take the cake for the $75 already paid we would've just let it go. But she kept repeating she couldn't do that. I do not understand how she could not, as the owner, but that apparently is the way she wants to run her business. We are now out $75, have another bad cake memory for our daughter's birthday, and have to scramble at the last minute to find another cake. Needless to say, no matter how tasty the product is, we are never ordering here again. If you don't care if your order is right or like surprises, then I would suggest ordering from here, we however like our orders to be correct and will never patronize this establishment again. read more

These guys totally saved me and pulled through for me for every step of the way. TWO days prior to the gender reveal party I was hosting, the friend who was making the reveal cake canceled on me. I called Bite Me and even with such short notice they got the cake done, on time, and for a reasonable price. The cake was EXACTLY what I had envisioned (they asked me to email them photos and we talked it through on the phone), it had the gender-colored frosting hidden inside perfectly, and last but not least, it tasted great too.
