I was greeted promptly by the friendly employees who took my order immediately. Unfortunately they were out of quiche so I ordered the avacado toast and a veggie sandwich with The Nikki coffee. Coffee was out in 5 minutes, delicious and not overly sweet which I appreciate,, with food to follow in another 5 minutes. The business is clearly conscious with the type of packaging they choose which I also apprecite. Great local business! Super cute shop with locally made art and goods for sale as well as games and entertainment for diners. Also, I am not gluten free and the bread is delicious to me. Pupusas are thick, flatbreads made from cornmeal, which are stuffed with a choice of filling and come with a choice of sides. The portions were HUGE!! I ordered the Avalanche pupusa, which had cheese on the inside with pickled onions and queso on top (hence the avalanche!), with a side of yucca fries. The pupusa was pretty damn delicious and filling, while the fries were well-seasoned. They were a little dense, but delicious nonetheless. My partner ordered the chicken and cheese pupusas with salsa and pico de gallo, along with yucca fries, and they were good too. The staff and the service are quite good. It was a beautiful day so the patio was very comfy; I hate being too hot or too cold when eating, so this was perfect. We took a very long time catching up, but our waitress was extremely friendly and patient. She was great. We ordered a couple of dishes to start (tacos and a salad) and chatted away until we chose our next plates. Each dish that came out was very tasty, beautifully presented, and arrived very quickly. My favorites were the dates and crème brûlée dishes lol. I've had a massive sweet tooth lately so I found these extra yummy. Price was pretty reasonable for two people; our bill came out to be about $75, and that included two mixed drinks as well as all of the food seen here (though don't be fooled because we got two plates of the dates!). I wish there were more places like this up by me, but I do have a couple of very good reasons to frequent Colorado Springs, so I'm positive I'll be back. When we arrived, it didn't seem crowded and there were a good amount of open tables, but they appeared to be understaffed for the day. While the staff was professional, things moved very slowly. It took a long time to get our drink orders taken and even longer to get the drinks to the table. Most frustratingly, my son never received his drink at all, even after we asked for it a second time. On the other hand, the meal itself was really good. Just about everyone ordered the chicken and waffles, and we also had the fish. Every dish was a hit and we all truly enjoyed what we ate. Because the kitchen is clearly doing a great job, we will definitely be back to give it another try, hopefully on a day when the front-of-house service is a bit more in sync.
