Good and ready when we needed it. Decided to wash the comforter so I got that done at home. The washer still worked so that got a long soak. Sadly, the dryer took a dump and while it still spun, nothing got even remotely warm. It wasn't warm enough that day (raining in fact) so I loaded the thick blanket in to the car and drove to the coin-op laundromat with a bunch of quarters. It wasn't dripping wet but it certainly wasn't dry. So I got one of those oversized dryers and dropped a few quarters in to get it to start. Ended up putting about a dollar or two in just to make sure it was dry. Came home and ordered a new washer and dryer but this was a reasonable temporary fix. read more

CONSUMER PROTECTION WARNING Do not use this laundromat if possible. Drive to Vacaville, or Davis. My washing machine broke on laundry day. I ordered a new washer but, it could not be delivered for 3 days. Just in case there was a delay with delivery / installation, I decided to take 8 pair boxers, 8 T-Shirts, 8 pair socks to this laundromat. When I removed my clothes after the wash cycle, (30 minutes) I immediately smelled a foul odor coming from my clothes. Since my dryer still works, I took my wet clothes home to dry. During the car ride home I kept wondering what that foul odor was, (it seemed familiar). I used the same laundry detergent I've been using for the past 15 years, (Arm & Hammer Alpine Clean). When I usually wash my clothes at home they have a "clean smell" with no flowery perfume. As I type this review my clothes are drying in my my small laundry room. Now the clothes are being heated the foul odor has intensified, and I know what it is. I have smelled this odor before. This laundromat recycles their waste water. They do not use fresh / clean water for their washing machines. This means they capture the dirty water from all their machines, run it through a filter, and reuse the dirty water. This is what they started doing at car washes about 20 years ago. The stench on my clothes is absolutely disgusting. The only way I can describe it is, it smells like turning the hose on a patch of dry dirt in your backyard where there's no grass. It basically smells like wet dirt / earth. I'm not joking I when I say this, my unwashed clothes smelled better before I washed them at this laundromat. I have a feeling nothing will change because this is the sole laundromat in Dixon, and the place was filled with regulars that have no access to laundry facilities, and are unable / unable to drive to Vacaville, or Davis, (most people I saw walked / did not have a car). So if you're reading this, and you're in a similar situation me, just drive the 10 minutes to Vacaville, or Davis. 4 different size washers. Smallest is $5, largest is $8 and a dollar difference on each size. 50¢ to start the dryer for 5 mins and an additional 25¢ for 2 mins more. Dryers start the cooling down process at the 2 min mark so for .50¢, you receive 3 mins of drying. Dryers have no grace period to add money. Adding money before the 2 min mark will save you money and give you more drying time. Clear floors, but the inside rubbers of washers ought to be cleaned for the price of this establishment. This place is high priced, dirty, and unappealing. The soap area, softener area, and bleach area containers, are filthy. Old product remnants, mold too. Gross. Price is higher than I pay in other California laundromats while out and about traveling in our RV. The dryers are high priced considering how long it takes to dry clothes. 50 cents for the first 5 minutes and 25 cents for every 2 minutes thereafter. The lint drawers were packed with lint, so you have to check before you start. This is one of the only dryers where I have had access to the industrial machine lint drawers. There was nobody on staff so it appears it is probably "cleaned" after hours. So the later in the day, the more junk all over the floor. It's not air conditioned well either so late in the day in the summer is miserable. read more

This coin laundry should be closed down, they do not provide restrooms for their customers as the customers have to look elsewhere to use a restroom when they need to. Plus it is outdated, they use coins only, they do not provide creditcard or a debitcard for washers or dryers. FYI folks in Dixon, there is a Laundry in Davis which provides creditcards or debitcards on their modern washers and dryers and also have a Deli which provides food and drinks...very clean and provides restrooms for their customers as well. read more

I'm on the road and needed to do laundry while in Dixon. The negative reviews of this laundromat are so very negative I was curious if it really could be so awful. And I had limited time so driving to an adjacent town was not a good option. The worst thing I can say about Schroeder''s is there is no restroom for customers. It's clean, only one machine has an out of order sign on it, which is reasonable to expect with so many machines. The change machine is working. They've labeled all the washers asking customers not to use scent beads (like Downy unstoppable perfume beads). I actually had to look this up: they not only perfume up your wash (eech) they also damage washers over time. Someone whined about paying $1/minute for drying and having to pay for more than 5 minutes I'll point out that it takes a half hour for my clothes to dry in my home dryer and I consciously try not to over dry to avoid static cling so I don't have to use wasteful, costly and smelly dryer sheets. Over all an excellent choice if you don't have an in home washer or it's broken or you're in the road. The big plus over an in home washer is you can do all your laundry at the same time! read more

It got the job done!! I needed a massive sized washing machine for my comforter, that cost $8 in quarters (they have a quarter machine). If the quarters didn't show up as a credit, you just push a button to release it. The medium sized washers were $7, I didn't look at the cost of the smallest washers. It was either purchase a whole new washing machine or get my comforter dry cleaned for $58. They also had a sign saying it would be about 35 minutes for a wash so that was really helpful. I smelled the washers before use since someone said they stink, the one I used didn't stink. Not the nicest facility ever, but they had benches, a sink, soap for sale, vending machines, laundry carts, and high top tables for folding. Giving a better review to increase the stars for this place because honestly... it was what I needed. read more

If I could give this business no stars, I would! Highway robbery! Dirty washers. They stink. Can't use beads. Super expensive. Dryers are 50 cents for the 5 minutes and every quarter is only 2 minutes more. You have to have 2 pairs of socks to be able to dry with those times... My apartments charges $2.25 for 45 minutes. This place only gets 1 star and that is generous. The place is clean, machines are old so they are not as efficient. Do not wash here if you have a choice. They charge 50 cents for 5 minutes and 25 cents for each additional 4 minutes just to dry. The dryers are not any more efficient than any of the other laundromats around, but they charge more. I will never come here again. This place is a rip off. A wash is 4.50 now also. An older woman had a few items in her dryer and it didn't even dry her clothes all the way. The last 3 minutes is all cool down. No heat. The place is garbage. No one on site. Read the signs way high on the wall that say $.25 for 2 minutes on the dryer. I called the owner as I put $3.00 in and got 18 minutes. The owner said she was sending someone. No one ever showed up. When I called back she said they did but didn't see me so left. $3.00 and 50 minutes later I took my wet clothes somewhere else to dry. I walked into Schroeder's "full service" Coin Laundry this morning to wash our sleeping bags in preparation for a camping trip. There was no one in the place except one girl (their employee) sitting on a bench reading a magazine. I explained to her that I'd like to wash my sleeping bags then have her transfer them to the dryer and my fiance would pick them up at 2:45pm. I would pay now. She said, "Oh we don't really do that." I said, "Wait, you don't do what? Isn't this a full-service wash and fold? I want you to wash and fold my sleeping bags." She said, "Oh well I'm off at 10:45am so I can't do it." Don't wash your clothes here because they always want to close early! Horrible customer service! Unclean workplace very filthy! The woman that works there doesn't even speak English and it's hard to understand her. Inconsistent work hours or times of operation. No signs are even posted as to when the business is open or closed. Family members of the employees like to dictate when things are done. Completely unprofessional work environment. If you want to run a successful business maybe have consistent hours of business don't close when you feel like it! VERY clean! However, don't come here if you're on a budget! I just spent aprox $50 for (6) loads of laundry!!!! This laundromat is EXTREMELY expensive, a single load washer will cost you $3.50....yes, you read that right. There is actually a bulletin posted explaining why their machines cost so much to operate (apparently some-'ONE' messed up a machine which ended up costing them a small fortune to remedy). If there were a laundry attendant possibly that wouldn't have happened? Why make your customers pay (literally) for a single individuals' mistake? Anyway, the folding areas are very small, it took major effort to make sure no clothing fell on the floor. Not recommended if you have many loads to wash at a single time. Like I said, the place is clean. Another plus? They have a fully stocked goodie dispensers (soda/snack machines) AND laundry needs are available if you run out of bleach/soap/etc! The low star review is for no other reason than I just spent damn near $50 on ONE trip to the laudndromat....will not be back, sadly. read more

I came here cause it's the only one in town, but after doing my laundry there, I've begun to look for laundromats in surrounding towns. A lot of the machines weren't working, although they were moderately priced. The dryers smelt like burnt hair and you had to put in two or three quarters to start the machines and a quarter for every minute or two after. The dryers had a cool down cycle that took longer than it did to dry. Last wash was at 8:30 or 9:00, but the attendant kept trying to rush everyone out early, preventing me from being able to completely dry my clothes. I only had two loads and got there at 7:00, I should have been able to leave with my clothes dried and folded, especially since I don't mess around. Instead, I walked out with my clothes thrown in my basket, still dripping wet. I'm going to try my luck in Davis. read more
