I have been a customer of Pretty Hair Salon since March 2021. Pretty offers services such as…read morehaircuts, single-process color, full and partial highlights, balayage, foilyage, perms, keratin treatments, facial waxing, lash lift and tint, bridal hair and makeup, etcetera. I usually schedule my appointments through the Vagaro website. Over the years, several stylists here have done my hair. They all have started my appointments on time and spoken nicely with me. They make my haircuts the correct length, and they make my highlights a flattering tone and level. Their curling or straightening of my hair looks really good. The prices vary based on the type of service and the level of the employee. For a few years, one stylist charged me for a more-expensive balayage, although she actually did less-expensive foils. (When I first began to come here, foilyage was not on their menu, and one stylist did not know what it was and incorrectly said that my previous salon did not know what they were doing!) Furthermore, she performed add-ons without asking or telling me, and at the cash register, she whispered or wrote down these additional services to her coworker who entered them into the computer. Therefore, I deducted one star from my review for that reason. My current stylist Maleah charges me for the correct service, $192 plus tip for full foils and a haircut. For years I bought their hair products. I am not a fan of their shampoos, but I like their flyaway-fix product.

Scheduling was not a huge wait or hassle I believe I was able to schedule in about one week or less time. Price I honestly felt is average for a "high end" salon. Most I have been to charge in the 40-60$ range for a cut. I got a short cut and it was 46, which was nice because I thought it would be higher so I was able to tip him well. Now onto my cut.... It came about pretty nice I am happy with it some things to consider... I have not had a stylist in 3.5 yrs I had been cutting it myself. I was really ready to chop it all of so I was super filled with gratitude. I think I did not give my stylist full free reign to choose a short style for me, so I think he found a decent medium space between not over short for me. I do wish things like texture ends around my face and bangs he had used more point cutting on. More scissors vs razor or texturing shears which he used quite a lot. Those are just the small details that change a cut from I like to it I love. None the less I like it and I am pretty happy. My guess is that they maybe don't do a ton of short cuts here, seemed to be some trophy wife clientele and young college girls with longer hair. I cannot review color I did not get any color here.

I'd been to this salon three to four times in the past and had my hair cut and colored by owner…read moreJimmy. I stopped going there because he was too expensive. The color I loved. The cuts were okay. After finally getting a raise at work and not having gotten my hair done in months due to Covid 19 shutting down all salons, I was desperate to get my hair done. I've been a platinum blond for over 20 years and had no intentions of not being one anymore. I ended up making an appointment with Brittany who could fit me in sooner than owner Jimmy. The girl who made the appointment said Brittany was good with blonds and recommended her. Having walked in with platinum hair, but large roots, I made it VERY clear that I wanted a very light blond color. Bright, light blond. I said no yellow and no orange. After getting home, taking my mask off and getting a good look in my bathroom mirror I was beyond shocked. I wasn't blond at all!! My hair was brown. And an ugly brown at that. I called immediately and asked the girl to please have Jimmy call me as soon as he could. I was in tears when I told the receptionist that my hair wasn't blond at all and looked brown. The owner Jimmy called back hours later and had a nasty attitude from the start. He refused to fix it or even let me come in so he could look at it. I was speechless. Then he told me to find another salon. He added that he saw it while I was there and it looked 'damn blond' to him. He then proceeded to tell me that it was my fault because my roots were huge (All salons were shut down for months due to Covid 19, so that was certainly out of my control). Then he told me to wash it a bunch of times over the next week and it would lighten up. Jimmy even said that I 'always had a problem' and complained about his coloring of my hair in the past. That was a complete lie. I never complained to him about a service. I had ALWAYS been super nice and cool when I had gone there and always tipped 30%. I even bought products there instead of going 100 feet up the street to Ulta and using a coupon for the same stuff. Jimmy had every excuse in the book to avoid accepting responsibility for what his stylist did. He even went as far to say that he and Brittany were the two best stylists in the city and Headspace was the best salon in the city. I took pictures of the mess Brittany created and sent them to the owner of another salon I know. Unfortunately, her salon was still closed or else I would have gone to her from the start. She agreed that my hair was not blond at all. She called it bronze. She advised me to file a dispute with my credit card since he refused to fix it. I filed the dispute and lost because the charge was found to be valid and PNC is powerless to continue to fight the salon because it's a 'quality' of service issue. They advised to file against the salon in small claims court. So the salon gets to keep $300 for a sloppy cut and orange brown color. Stay away from this salon. Any owner that is so cocky to talk to a client like they're garbage and refuse to fix a clients hair is not worth people's hard earned money. He can keep the $300. He obviously needs it more than I do. If you're looking for a great salon with a talented stylist, go to Lavish and ask for Amanda. She is the owner and fixed my hair the best she could do with out causing more damage to my hair. She said getting me back to platinum will take time to protect the integrity of my hair which I understand and appreciate She was incredibly cool and understanding and did a beautiful job. Update - It's a waste of my time to respond to the litany of excuses posted by owner. The pictures speak for themselves. Save your money an go elsewhere.
