Amazing adventure day with my wife and Marco. Private tour which started with a ride up the Sonnenberg Funicular. We then walked the remaining way to the top of Sonnenberg where we were able to get spectacular views of the Pilatus Mountain and the city/lake of Lucerne. We then walked down Sonnenberg and where we were able to see many active farms and animals. When the private guided tour/walk concluded, we headed back to Marco's restaurant where we cooked a traditional Swiss meal. With many great ingredients and guidance from Marco, we enjoyed the cooking process and learned great recipes which we can take home. Since we had a private experience, we enjoyed our meal in the basement dinning room cellar. It was an amazing experience where we shared great stories and conversation with Marco. Such a fantastic experience if you are looking to experience the true Swiss culture which you often can not get for such an affordable price in Lucerne. Originally we were only interested in a cooking class, but then booked the full program... and since we were too tired to go further (to Italy) we spontaneously booked a room. Great cultural-culinary-philosophical conversations until late :) It was a super experience! We picked wild herbs and wildflowers and learned so much that we cook at home with wild herbs instead of buying vegetables. Marco and his team were extremely personable, adjusted their walking pace to "flatlanders" during the short hike . We are super happy to recommend them! Cooking with Marco was a fantastic experience! We actually messed up on our reservation and showed up a day early, and he kindly accommodated us! We made fresh pasta and salad, while sampling local cheeses and drinking wine/beer. The food turned out very tasty and we had a delicious dessert. The environment was clean, uniquely decorated and comfortable! Marco had a fun personality and made our time with him such a special experience. I already want to go back again. We had an enjoyable evening with Marco hearing about his thoughts on Swiss culture and food. Make sure you have the address from Marco saved for your trip there (not TripAdvisor or other app). Marco is wonderful. Really enjoyrd the cooking class. Very homey restaurant. Ingredients naturally grown in the garden in the backyard. Good and service outstanding. A must stop in Lucerne. Recommend to combine cooking course with farm tour Marco offers. read more
