Service: Our orders are always ready when they say they'll be. The staff is always friendly and courteous. Ambiance: I grew up eating at this location. It hasn't changed a whole lot in the past decade or so. It's always comfortable and seating is always available when we dine in. I do wish they still had a few arcade games. Business was slow and he could tell we weren't regulars. Jesse approved of our activities and said he would check out the drag strip in Lufkin. I ordered the chicken strips with gravy for dipping. Jesse asked if I wanted the Texas Toast. He wanted me to know that it cost extra because if I wanted it and hadn't ordered it, I would be mad at him. I told him that it wouldn't have angered me, but for a buck twenty-five I got the Texas Toast. Our orders came out to our table in a few minutes. The chicken was hot, crispy and tender. The gravy was white and spiced just right. The Texas Toast was just... toast (IMHO) but it was good for dipping into my remaining gravy. My buddy got a double Whataburger with onion rings. It's impressive that wherever you go, their burgers are the same. The patties fill the bun and they're both big. Fortunately for me, my friend couldn't finish his onion rings, so I helped him out. They were cooked to perfection. Thanks for filling our tanks for the drive back to Dallas and beyond.
