We have eaten at many Cotton Patch restaurants before and always enjoyed our food, but this visit was very disappointing. My husband ordered the chicken fried turkey, and I ordered the chicken fried chicken. His meal came out with two large pieces, but mine looked unusually small, like a child-sized portion. I asked our server, Logan, about it and she said she was sure another piece was coming out. It never did. When I asked again, she said the manager, Carlos, was supposed to come speak with us. He never showed up. We waited another 45 minutes to an hour and he still did not come by our table. Logan was a great server and we tipped her well, but the manager, Carlos, was completely unprofessional. He made no effort to come over or address our concern. It was very clear that he had no intention of making our visit a welcoming one. I boxed up the chicken fried chicken and threw it away. Their menu might be my favorite menu I've seen in years. And to be honest, most of my food was amazing. Especially their buttery bread rolls. Absolutely award winning in my opinion. Their service is fantastic also. The o lyrics thing that set me back, some of my side dishes were just too Salty. I like Salty food, but the only way I could eat the rest of my sides was to eat it as left overs and mix it with other food that had zero seasoning. Luckily they give you a decent portion. And even tho half my side dishes were overly Salty, my mouth is still watering over how yummy everything else I had was. If only if only, they are so close to a much better rating. Not even a better ambiance would have helped. Tbh I really enjoyed the southern charm of the place. Not cold and modern, but so bright and family friendly. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we walked in, so we were seated right away. Our server, Faith, was very friendly and happy to check into ingredients in one of the dishes to help me. She and my brother-in-law engaged in some playful banter throughout our meal. I ordered the chipotle maple chicken without the seasoned rice it usually comes with. (I can't have onion or garlic, both common seasonings.) The chicken was tender and the sauce was sweet and spicy and oh, so good. The baked potato was loaded with toppings and the perfect salty counterpoint to the sweet sauce. The cinnamon apples are a staple side for me at Cotton Patch. They are warm, sweet, and delicious- like apple pie without the crust. The restaurant now also has a beer and wine menu as well as their classic desserts. read more

We will never be back to this location! My salad was served with old brown avocado on it, my husband never received his side salad, and the waitress never came back to see if our drinks needed to be refilled. The waitress mentioned the avocado to her manager who came over with an attitude and when the other issues were mentioned her attitude got even worse. Two waitresses stood at the booth next to ours the entire time socializing with a table full of their friends. They weren't rude by any means but when you have a nearly empty restaurant why sit us right next to a table of socializing teenagers? This location I HORRIBLY managed. read more

It's been many years since I ate at Cotton Patch. I was very impressed with the service and food. My sister and I enjoyed steak, fish and shrimp. We started with mozzarella sticks, which were yummy. The rolls were yummy. The only disappointment was we really wanted the hummingbird cake mentioned on the table card which was not available. Overall a great experience and happy bellies. read more

Food is terrible. Cornbread was clearly prepped earlier in the morning, warmed and not a cornbread consistency. Ordered sirloin steak medium rare, came medium well and over seasoned to where the steak didn't taste good at all. Like you dump too a pile of it on the steak and then wipe it off. Potato soup was a cheese soup, and the rolls are terrible now, just hurts my heart bc this place used to have the best free cornbread and rolls. Friendly service, very attentive and spirited! Ambiance - well it was empty on a Tuesday and the music was cranked up! Going to give this place a few more attempts before totally losing hope. Each water I asked for, came in a new cup all bc of the old COVID rules.... Found this place in Henderson, TX on Yelp! and we're SO glad we did!! Our first time, we're told they're a chain, very clean, food quick, hot and YUMMY! Dr. Pepper BBQ (lightly) sauced brisket quesadilla w/guacamole, sour cream and pico....lunch sized Chicken fried chicken served w/jalapeño gravy and fries...both very good, plentiful. I don't order takeout often, but when I do....I like silverware and napkins included in the bag, ketchup for my cold fries, mayonnaise on my sandwich that is supposed to have mayo on it, and a sandwich that is at least warm without soggy toast. We were in town for a funeral this weekend and decided to eat here last night. Upon arriving the wait was long, was told 5-10 minutes, and ended being 45 minutes. Was a little unhappy about the extended wait time, but the food made up for it. Our waitress was very friendly and very prompt during our entire visit. We went today and loved it. We started with chips and queso, very good. I had potato and cheese soup with a BLT, top notch. My wife had chicken and dumplings, excellent. I read reviews on yelp to see where to go for dinner. Cotton Patch Cafe had received mostly good reviews. It is close to the hotel we stayed at. We didn't have a very good experience there though. We ordered an appetizer of fried mushrooms as soon as the waiter came to take our drink order. We heard the waiter long after he had taken our dinner order tell the cook to start cooking the fried mushrooms. The waiter and the cook staff were having a lively conversation about pay and the value of staff. The whole dining room could hear their conversation. We started hearing the staff in the kitchen telling the wait staff that they were out of a number of items. It wasn't until our meal was delivered though that they told us they were out of cream gravy. We had ordered chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes as well as steak fingers. Had we known they were out of cream gravy we would not have ordered them. The food was very salty. The black eyed peas were so salty I could not eat more than a bite. My husband needed a tea refill but the waiter never filled his glass. All in all a very disappointing experience. read more

Stopped for lunch on New Year's Day on our way back to Longview from San Antonio. Chris, our server, was excellent! Very friendly and attentive from the moment we sat down. The food was really good "home cookin'" style food. Even the complimentary black eyed peas and cabbage Chris brought to our table was delish!! I had the grilled chicken and steamed broccoli, my hubby had chicken spagetti, my 17yr old son had Chicken strips with gravy and mashed potatoes and my 14yr old son had a 3 cheese bacon cheese burger.
