Jalapeño Tree has 15 locations. I've been to 14 of them. Me n my mom decided to make it a challenge to eat at every one of them. She passed away when we had hit about 9. I've made it my mission to eat at the rest of them. I've got one more left- north of Dallas ina little town called Denison. My waitress had a t-shirt with all the locations listed. I asked if I could purchase one. They gave me a T for free and when I looked at it, it was the wrong one. Dang it. Maybe I can get one at the Denison location. Saturday 11:30 - party of 2. There was no wait. Chips and salsa and drinks hit the table at 11:37. We were eating by 11:56. Jessica, our server was fantastic. Lunch consisted of the Queso shrimp and double enchiladas with double rice. I order the queso shrimp lunch special every single time- so I can compare the execution of the meal at each location. It was delicious. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the taco shell was toasty and crisp. We were ready to cash out at 12:15- but I needed another 20 minutes to finish my margarita. Our stay was about an hour. Lunch for 2- $54 Drive home: 2 hours read more

The Jalapeno Tree - a mural on the side of a restaurant - Mexican Near Me - Jacksonville, Texas

Took my mom out for her birthday and was not disappointed. Food and service are great! Definitely worth the visit.

Ordered the Tropical Salmon and steamed vegetables. The fish was grilled perfectly and seasoned just right with enough juiciness. Highly recommend this dish. Larry, the manager, was very accommodating and friendly to all his customers. Great job guys!!! Oh yes, they are military friendly read more

The Jalapeno Tree - Mexican Near Me - Jacksonville, Texas

had lunch at jalapeño tree today I enjoyed the chicken enchiladas. I especially enjoyed the Charro beans. My one wish is that they would offer Mexican cornbread even if it has to be made to order it would be really good with their beans and I really enjoy their beans thanks again will come again. This was the Jacksonville, Texas location. read more

I have been to this place twice in 30 years. Once just after moving to this area and again just the other day. Still underwhelming. Not much is good in this area, and this is among the middle of a very ho-hum pack. The food is pretty boring, edible but not good. They do so much advertising that I thought that the first time might have been an off day, but.... Just spend the same $ and get a good burger deal at Whataburger read more

I've posted some pics of our food. We were hear with friends and had a great experience . The waitress was new, but she did an excellent job. From the chips and salsa, green dip to our meal, it was all good. I personally had the burrito and enjoyed it. Go get Full read more

I normally get either the combo 2 or the del Rio. Both are really good. Great service as always

My family and I love this place. I always go there when I'm home to see the family. The food and drinks are delicious.

Probably not my favorite place to eat but my husband and my daughter both love it, I also really love their vegetable side so that you're not always forced to have rice and beans or fries they're sautéed veggies are really good and so is there papa bear queso I just always make sure that it's double strained so there's not grease in the cheese read more

Jalapeño tree is good! I ordered the chili relleno and it was tasty. Good spice, good flavor, good food. The staff is nice. The place is nice, and the free ice cream at the end is nice. The Jalapeno Tree - Chile Relleano with queso on top with rice and beans - Mexican Near Me - Jacksonville, Texas

Now we know why they not 3 stars...our waitress was great manager brought us cold hard dry bacon that the kitchen forgot... according to menu we should have had bacon in our order (4) but not happening according to our bill it was a "kitchen error worth .$1.00) We will not be back - we eat out Mexican food at least once a week, however it was worth more than $1.00 because we will not be back!!! Don't go! read more

I ordered the Carne Asada and it looked good until I tasted the meat. I was not satisfied with it at all. The meat had a bitter taste to it and needless to say I got sick from it. To be honest it looked like processed meat and I will not be coming to eat there anymore. read more

This place has pretty good Tex Mex food, with a large variety of items on the menu. The star dinners on the menu have pretty large portions, so I always end up taking a to-go box home with me. Took one star off because the food is kinda pricey. read more

I love this place. The food is good, the prices are right and the chips & salsa is awesome. Mandy served me the other day and she went above and beyond to take care of me and my friend. We stayed a while to visit and Mandy never let it bother her that her table was being occupied so long. We will definitely go back and hopefully not stay as long. :). I recommend the enchiladas and the fajitas. read more

I went in with my wife like I always do. Brought my yeti cup full of ice water. I asked for more ice water. Neither of us ordered any alcohol. I was asked to take my yeti cup back to my truck. She (the manager) forced me to either leave or take the yeti outside. I even showed her the ice water and she blamed it on TABC. That's not now TABC works. This place sucks anyway, worst Jalapeno tree in existence. You want Jalapeno tree, drive to Henderson. read more

1 star because I can't post without a star rating Horrible.. loud drunk women at the bar, and a bartender with no intention on stopping serving, or stopping them from leaving. Took 20 minutes to get to go boxes, and then another 15 minutes for him to run the check. Can't believe they were packed, they seated us with my wife's grandmother, and our 9 year old daughter right next to the bar. WTF. I'M trying to recall a worse customer service experience ever, and I'm drawing a blank. read more

Our party of 4 adults and 1 child were treated like royalty! Food was great and our server, Ms. Dorothy, was wonderful. Our glasses stayed full and even Our added takeout orders were ready when we finished ours. Thanks Jalapeño Tree for a wonderful meal and thanks especially to Ms. Dorothy for making it fun! read more

The last review for this restaurant is a couple of years old so I wanted to give an update and let everyone know that this place is still around, serving up some great Tex-mex, if you can call fresh spinach enchiladas Tex-mex! Call them what you want, I call them muy yum! Husband had fajitas which were also good. The flour tortillas seemed a little chewy, but that's what I get for snagging a sample that came with his order, not mine. The complimentary chips come with a tasty avacado sauce which disappeared quicker than you can say "andale!" The one thing I found a little confusing was the name of the various combo plates on the menu. They had names like the "James Dean" and the "Arnold Schwarzenegger." There are 18 of these restaurants around Texas and they've been voted "best of the best" by locals that vote on that type of thing. read more

Came here for lunch yesterday before flying back to San Francisco and was happy that I did. This place is a great example of good simple Tex-mex. Nothing too fancy, and sometimes that's exactly what you want. My creen chili enchiladas were great, prices were cheap, and service was great. This place has come a long way from the humble restaurant that was here when I lived in Jacksonville, and they finally have beer! read more

The Jacksonville location has recently had a sorely needed remodel with new tiled flooring in a checkerboard pattern. New tables and chairs were also added to the decor. Previous flooring was bare concrete with obvious cracks, stains and other noticeable damage which made it very unsafe for customers and servers alike especially when it became wet. Along with the updated decor, was an updated staff. The last few times I had been there, I did not see the manager I had normally seen previously. I also didn't see one of the regular servers I had seen in previous visits. I am unsure if these individuals were just off on the days I went or if they were terminated entirely. This location began as a favorite place to eat upon moving to the area a couple of years ago. As time wore on, the food had become mediocre at best. Order mistakes had been corrected by disguising the error and serving the cold correction to the customer. Since I haven't had a food error since "giving them another chance", I can't say if this practice is still in effect. I would assume with the building remodel, other areas have been improved as well. Customer service from the waitstaff had never really been too bad. A customer's impression of service is nearly always based upon the most recent level of service received. This is especially true in food service. This location has become my "go to" place for nachos and margaritas. The bean nachos are served on a huge platter with enough nachos to make a meal for two adults. read more

I had the Cancun! It was to die for! I have never had anything like this and was a little scared to order it. The chicken was so moist and the shrimp....OMG! It was a little high for lunch, but oh so good! read more

Very disappointed in their customer service. My dad and I have both tried to call to place a to go order for 30 minutes now. They finally answered the phone but no one was there. A regular here at the "Tree". Good drinks, great food!!! Chips are thin and great!, and the green sauce it the best I've had anywhere!!! Good place to catch some good Mexican food. I will say I have not branched out on the menu. I found the fajitas and have take the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" approach. So let me explain. Only place I have ever gotten melted garlic spicy butter with my fajitas. So while the meat and veggies are sizzling you pour this melted love on top over everything. Wow. Get over here and try these fajitas. read more

The absolute worst!! Empty restaurant. Host/Hostess stand with three waitresses and manager that were unwilling to help because "no tables to accommodate." Once again disappointing service! The bar area was filthy when we arrived to eat drink and watch sports channel. Dirty plates and food from previous patrons were never picked up while we sat and ate our meal. The "stand in" bartender wasn't familiar with the area but covering for bartender until he returned from lunch break? When he did clock back in, he NEVER greeted nor offered his services. He kept his back to us while surfing he mobile phone.... totally poor customer service! His excuse? He wasn't our server! EVERYONE IN THAT RESTAURANT IS OUR SERVER!! That's what GREAT customer service is all about!! The sad thing is the asst manager was eating his meal in a booth close by, witness to it all! read more

The food was good but the service sucked. The waitress never showed up to refill our drinks.

The salsa was pretty good. It was not chunky and had a lot of spice to it. The atmosphere was typical of a medium-sized Mexican style restaurant. The food is what makes me give this restaurant a three star rating. It was just average and someone in my party got the wrong meal. The service was good. Overall, the best part of my meal was the guacamole dip for the chips. read more
