A 2+ hour drive from OKC for lunch might sound like a commitment--but when a place has been on your…read moreradar for years, sometimes you just make the trip. That's exactly what we did to visit The Pioneer Woman Mercantile, and overall, it delivered a really enjoyable experience. The Experience We planned ahead and made online reservations (highly recommended), especially when you're traveling that far. We arrived about 30 minutes early, checked in, and spent some time browsing the retail shop. It's well-stocked with plenty of Pioneer Woman flair--fun to look around, even if nothing made it into our cart this time. We were seated right on schedule, and our server, Tatyana, set the tone immediately--friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the meal. The Food Let's start with the surprise... Biscuits with butter & peach jam -- I'll be honest, I'm not usually a biscuit guy, but these were soft, warm, and downright addictive. Chicken Fried Steak -- This is what you come for. Crispy coating, tender inside, and covered in a rich, peppery gravy that hits all the right notes. Classic comfort food done right. Ribeye Steak -- Well-seasoned and cooked properly. My wife originally wanted a loaded baked potato (they were out), so she pivoted to loaded mashed potatoes--which turned out to be a solid backup plan. Side Salads -- Fresh, simple, and a good balance to the heavier entrees. Don't Skip the Bakery (Upstairs!) We passed on dessert at the table and headed upstairs--and this might have been the best decision of the day. * Pecan Pie Cookie -- Absolute standout. Rich, sweet, and unique. Don't leave without one. * Snickerdoodle & Iced Lemon Cookie -- Both excellent and gone quickly. Atmosphere The space feels exactly how you'd expect--warm, inviting, and comfortable with a touch of that signature Ree Drummond style. The lighting, decor, and layout all make it a place you don't feel rushed to leave. The Verdict Was it worth the drive? Yes. Would I do it again? Also yes--especially as a planned day trip. It doesn't quite hit that 5 level for me, but it's a very strong 4 experience with great service, solid food, and a memorable setting. @cheft_2469 Scorecard * Food: * Service: * Atmosphere: * Value: Pro Tips (Read Before You Go) * Make a reservation - This is a destination spot and fills up fast, especially on weekends. * Arrive early - Gives you time to browse the retail shop before your table is ready. * Skip dessert at the table - Head upstairs to the bakery instead... trust me on this one. * Get the Pecan Pie Cookie - Non-negotiable. It's the standout item. * Chicken Fried Steak is the play - If you're on the fence, this is the safe bet. * Have a backup side in mind - Items like baked potatoes can sell out. * Plan it as a day trip - Pawhuska isn't just lunch, it's the whole experience. * Go before peak tourist season - You'll enjoy it more without the heavy crowds. "Sometimes the best meals aren't just about the food--they're about the road trip, the experience, and who you share it with. This one checked all those boxes."

The whole town is booming with shops and other opportunities for you to experience but when you go into her personal store, thousands of items on display for you to choose from whether it's for home decor or four just getting some unique pottery Bourne items for your kitchen. It's a great stop. We have been there multiple times throughout the years. To suggestions of course as you must go there to have their breakfast you will tremendously enjoy it their biscuits homemade fresh. You will truly love their biscuits. You most definitely have to try out their bakery. It's up the stairs, but I tell you one thing you are going to love it and regret it at the same time so many great options to choose from made fresh right there and you can even watch them make it and it's actually pocketbook friendly on their bakery items which I wasn't expecting. I was thinking it would be a little bit more pricey but I think about five or six items and spent less than 40 bucks in each item is a good portion size. Last thing I would suggest is make sure to see if they have any samples cause it doesn't hurt to ask and usually they do have samples coming out every hour or so so you could enjoy and even try it before you buy it So if you're here in that area, I suggest you stop in. You won't regret it. It'll be fun and a great place just to grab a goodbye to eat

The restaurant is very big! Which is nice! Lots of arcade games and plenty of televisions for game days. They were out of buns and toast for most of the menu items so I had the bacon cheeseburger macaroni and cheese. Disclaimer: I don't like MOST restaurant style Mac n Cheese so this is a very unusual order for me - and it makes me slightly biased in a slightly bad way... but for what it's worth, the flavor was great! It had a wonderful spicy kick! But you have to eat it quickly... maybe that's my issue- I don't like to eat fast. Anyways, it was good "adult" Mac and Cheese but given another option I would have taken it for sure. Hubs had the Regular Cheeseburger with a pretzel bun since they were out of the regular buns and toast options. He didn't mind as pretzel buns are his absolute favorite. He noted that the cheeseburger was excellent. Cooked well. Not overly greasy. Not too big, not too small. All the condiments were included. He had no complaints. His side: tater tots, which were cooked to golden perfection. For our appetizer we opted for the spicy cheese curds. They were super tasty! The menu has tons of options as far as burgers, Mac n cheese, sandwiches, and appetizers. There are some salad options and chicken strips too. There is also a kid menu. The service was very quick! Very friendly! Overall we enjoyed our time here and will add this establishment to our rotation!

Did I order some of their weaker items? Was it because I tried them via delivery? Guess I'll never know, I don't plan to try them again honestly. I tend to reserve 1/5 star ratings for truly egregious experiences, but Little Busters is just barely better than that at a 1.5. Buffalo chicken mac and cheese: Holy false advertisement. I wish I had taken pictures, but it was just a nasty, congealed looking mess-- not even close to the picture advertised. The cheese sauce was a pale greyish yellow and just not appetizing looking at all, and was hardened like rotel dip that sits out too long and develops that film processed cheese tends to develop. I only live 10 minutes away, so it was shocking to see the presentation. The Buffalo chicken was not coated well in Buffalo sauce. Lots of gaps where you could see the normal plain breading. Buffalo chicken wrap: First, it was just made incorrectly. Zero Buffalo sauce so I thought perhaps I had received the other wrap which has ranch in it. No ranch either. It was wrapped very poorly/loosely and even with toothpicks the contents just immediately fell out. The wrap itself was very dry. 60% tortilla, 30% iceberg lettuce, 10% chicken. Full bites would just be nothing but tortilla and lettuce and there was soooo little actual chicken in it. Super disappointing and I didn't finish it. Spicy turkey wrap: Much the same presentation as the Buffalo wrap. Totally messy but this one happened to be drenched in dressing. Also the same issue with portions within the wrap. Very little turkey and cheese and the bottom third of the wrap had neither-- it was all tortilla and lettuce. My husband had made that comment all on his own before I could point it out. He DID say the flavor wasn't bad though. Corn dog nuggets: Hard to mess up something that was probably just taken out of a box in the freezer. Edible. Cottage cheese: Decent portion but also hard to mess up when it's a ready-made item. Tator tots: A mushy mess. I get it, potatoes get soggy. I would fully expect it if I lived 20 or 30 minutes away but again, I live 10 maybe less away. Thank goodness my air fryer saved them otherwise I honestly think I would have thrown it away. Containers: I normally never ever comment on the packaging food comes in, but wow was it bad. They use some kind of most likely recycled paper product versus Styrofoam. On one hand. Better for the environment. On the other hand. Any dish with moisture or steam causes the packaging to collapse and not hold its shape. The packaging could BARELY hold the weight of the mac and cheese and I had to support the bottom with two hands so it wouldn't collapse and spill out to one side or the other. This place has many other decent reviews so I'm not blind to the fact that my bad experience might be a fluke but really there was just no part of this meal that even tempts me to try it again. On every level from taste, to presentation, to portions was just a huge let down.
