Decided to drop in for a fresh salad at Doc Greens since it's been awhile since my last visit. I got my favorite, the Dr. Chef. I'm not a big fan of ham so I requested none. I received my beautiful salad with lots of chicken, hard boiled eggs, tomatoes, and lettuce. Unfortunately the chicken tasted like canned chicken. It had a distinct flavor and even with the delicious ranch dressing, I couldn't get past the flavor. I was able to poke around the chicken and get full, but it was a major disappointment. I won't be getting that salad again, yuck. As a footnote: the staff was pleasant and attentive. My companion highly enjoyed her salad. read more

I've been to several different locations, but I stopped at this one today on my way out of town. I did not have as good of an experience as I had hoped. I ordered the Dr. Ranchero for dine-in and a side of mac & cheese to go. When I reached checkout, there was no one there, they had trouble reading the ticket, and then they made my mac & cheese as a dine-in option despite it being written on the ticket that way. Not a huge deal, but as I was heading to get utensils, there were no forks so I had to ask for one in which they gave me a plastic fork. This was at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, so odd that they didn't have any forks available. The salad tasted great, but l later on after trying to to-go mac & cheese it tasted like what I would envision a cardboard box tasting like. Overall between the customer service and the quality of food unfortunately (hopefully it was just the day) but that's why it's receiving this rating. read more

Bought 2 oz of shake at different dates. Both bags different growers. Both bags/ozs, trash. Fan leave. I mentioned to bud tenders about the first purchase. I should preface this review with this is more to do with service, ambiance, generally cleanliness. The two stars are for the food, but had that been an issue, easily a one star experience today. I HOPE perhaps it was just an off day. Pre-covid I would frequent this Doc Green's semi frequently and never had a bad experience so admittedly it has been a long time since I had been back. Saturday for lunch, it was around 1pm when we walked in. They were moderately busy. The first thing I noticed is how sticky the floors were and then many tables that had plate ware on them from finished meals. We ordered our food, it was mostly accurate-- our turkey bacon sandwich lacked bacon and honestly I just did not feel like bothering the establishment for what, a couple of strips of bacon? The salads we had were good, no issues, and good portions--what we've always been used to. We had received part of our order before we had the chance to sit down and were unable to sit down anywhere as every single table that was unoccupied was not cleared off (ten entire tables by the way). I just felt this to be odd? They didn't seem short staffed and I observed the staff behind the counter throughout my meal it seemed they had plenty of time to show the lobby some love but no one did except the poor cashier who when I asked to clear some tables, did not have the greatest attitude I will admit. It was obvious but I also feel like she was not getting the support she needed from the remaining staff who were not doing much of anything, and I think a lot of what I saw from her stemmed from what was clearly a frustrating day. I worked food service for 10 years and there's just some things you pick up on pretty easily. The poor girl was clearing tables and then having to run back to the register and this cycle continued for a lot of our mealtime. She accidently broke some glassware and continued her job but was clearly crying. I felt bad for her. There were at least two other people behind the counter who could have assisted but did not. I finally saw one gentleman run the register at the very end of our meal but by that time she was nearly finished clearing off the 9th or 10th dirty table. You just could not tell who the manager on duty was at all because they definitely were NOT leading their team and ensuring operations were running smoothly. The drink station and adjacent station with silverware and napkins was filthy. Nozzles on either the tea or the lemonade (we couldn't tell because we had made Arnold Palmers) were not thoroughly cleaned prior and had a very distinct soap flavor. Noah chose Doc Green's to have lunch today. There were so many choices but he already had his heart on the Fiesta Chicken Wrap as he'd always order that whenever he eats here with his nana. It was my first time so I was taking too long reading all that was on the menu and finally decided on the California Chicken Panini with a side of Tortilla Soup as it was a little cold outside. I am a die hard doc greens fan and have eaten it for YEARS. But lately within the last year, I'm not sure if it is a staffing issue, but it seems like they have not been caring what they put out. My regular order is the Buffalo Tenders Panini and it used to be SO CONSISTENT AND SO GOOD. Nowadays, I'm never really sure what I'm going to get :( most days they use pita as the bread instead without warning and then the other day, I got a doordash and they sent me a deconstructed panini (added in photos). Normally I like DG because of their fresh food. Lately, however, I have been disappointed at how dirty the place is. The last time we went there were so many tables with dirty dishes for a long time, The cashier was the same person serving the food and was the same person clearing the tables. Seems understaffed now. We had a hard time finding a place to sit until we asked the employee to please clean the table. She was not in a good mood, and I can't imagine being in a good mood either if I were running all that alone. No wiping down of tables either. Our family started getting sick after this visit and we can only imagine that the dishes may not be properly washed either, an area that perhaps is also understaffed. Doc Green's has been in Wichita for as long as I can remember. Surprisingly I do not eat at this place often. It's kinda like you're aware of this place but it's not a place you think to go. My friend wanted to eat here and I was craving a sandwich so win win. I really like how there is a lot of options to choose from. I got their turkey bacon pepper Jack sandwich but substituted the red onions for cucumbers. Honestly it was pretty good. Not like THE best sandwich ever but wayyy better than I expected. My friend got the Thai chicken wrap with mashed potatoes and that sounded good too! Overall good quiet sandwich place that I feel like people will keep going to cause the sandwiches aren't bad. In the past, I rarely craved salad but Hubs and I have been craving their salads a lot over the past year. When we do the 1/2 sandwich and 1/2 salad or soup it doesn't really fill us up so when we know are hungry, we get the full sized portions. The salads here are pretty good, although slightly overpriced. The menu has a variety of options to choose from and everything I've tried has always been fresh and and decently portioned. The Dr. Diablo salad is one of my favorites and reminds me of a cheeseburger lol. However, when my boyfriend and I visited recently, the service kind of sucked. It was pretty awkward because we were standing there and waited for probably 5 minutes and no one bothered to greet us or take our order even though they were right in front of us. We personally had to ask them if they could take our order. As we were eating, other people came in and were greeted and assisted right away which made us question their customer service... was it because we're Asian? Of the three salads we ordered, two of them had grilled chicken. Some pieces of the chicken were super tough, like chunks of jerky! I'm thinking it had been microwaved at some point. Not the quality expected when paying that much for a salad. I went up three times to inquire about my salad and the chicken. They never brought us our food. The problem here is that 8/10 workers don't care at all. * I asked to add avocado on my Asian salad- they put a scoop of guacamole on it - what? Horrible customer service from Samantha at Central and hillside in Wichita Kansas! I called in my order on Easter Sunday at 2:30. Apparently they closed at 3:00 on Easter which I was unaware of. It was the only place open at that location. When I tried to pay she would not accept cash claiming that she had already counted the drawer down even though they were counting it as we spoke. She claimed it was company policy to close the door down 20 minutes prior to their closing. I have never heard that anywhere. It's curious why they would accept a to-go order from someone who didn't pay for a card over the phone and not tell them they weren't going to be able to pay in cash until they arrived When I asked for her name, she repeatedly told me her her name was manager and then her and a colleague were whispering in each other's ears and giggling throughout the entire transaction read more

I wish we had more salad places where I live. This one was good, though I would say the menu is large enough to be a bit daunting. I would almost prefer a Chipotle style walk-thru where I could choose items as I went. You can do an a la carte salad but it's not as user friendly as that. I went with a buffalo chicken salad, chopped. A friend said I had to get it chopped, but didn't see that listed as an option on the menu. I'm sure it was there, again it was large, but this was a key suggestion. Chopping all the ingredients up really made this much better than I think I would have found it otherwise. I didn't spend the extra cash to add guac, but wound up getting someone else's and put it on. I think I preferred it without. Anyway, the salad was good, the chicken was not really overly buffalo flavored nor was it spicy. But it was all nicely mixed and well balanced. The dressing was not too heavy either. I had a side of the corn bread (or whatever it was called), corn something, casserole maybe. It was really good, I'm glad I tried it but boy I could see myself easily eating way too much of it. I loved that the soda machines (which mercisously serve Coke products) also allow you to dispense syrup flavors right into your drink! I've never seen that before I really liked it. Meh. Ok, now that I've finished my Caesar Salad with grilled salmon I can speak with more authority. I originally found Doc Greens on Yelp. It was close to my hotel, and a search for salad turned up this one and another, as well as Zoe's. Zoe's is typically reliable and good. However I wanted to try something new here in Wichita. I ordered through the Yelp app, and paid through the app as well. This way it would be ready when I arrived. I got there and they hadn't started my salad yet. I was disappointed to learn that the anchovies are not available at the store. They are pre-mixed in the Caesar dressing. They don't even make the dressing? True, it is made somewhere else and shipped to them, okay worth a try anyway. I also asked them to chop the salad which I've never done before and it simply reduces the size of the bites of lettuce and does a good job of mixing all the ingredients into the salad. I was underwhelmed by what I thought was going to be a very mediocre experience. I took my salad to-go, back to the hotel where I ate it and let me just say Bravo! It was delicious, and the salad dressing, despite being made somewhere else was so good! The grilled salmon was oddly cool in the middle, indicating it was either in the fridge or Frozen and thawed but either way it was very good. Doc Fiesta is my favorite. I like the variety of ingredients to include corn, black beans, tortilla crips and the chicken. I'm not sure what the dressing was but it was tasty. Not too overwhelming. I've been here 3 times on trips to Wichita and have been looking forward to more. My lunch mates ordered differently and it all looked scrumptious. A special shout out to Scott from Doc Green's!! We use a few of the delivery services for food delivery now due to the COVID issue. More often than not the deliveries are messed up, turned upside down, missing items or cold because they've dropped off 2 orders before mine. Last week and many times DoorDash completely blows our orders and basically says "oh well, sorry for your bad luck" and does nothing to correct it. Today at Doc Greens we were missing two brownies and my wife called to see if they were indeed put in the order. Regardless, Scott asked no questions and said "I'll bring them right to you". Scott brought them before we even finished lunch! BJ's, and Jason's Deli have said the same thing...sucks to be you. Not Scott....don't know if he owns the place or what but he just brought them out and we about fell over. Top level customer service and always great food, but today Scott just got our business permanently. Customer Service is at the top of my list when it comes to any place I go to eat. At Doc Green's the service is unbeatable, as a college student I'm always careful of my spendings but I always find myself back there for another tasty meal. Furthermore, with every great team there is a leader. Devin hands down has been one of the coolest guy's i've met. I can tell the staff and everyone around him has but the utmost respect for his leadership and dedication. Don't be hesitant to ask what to try, he'll definitely give you a great recommendation. Now for the FOOD! My go to is definitely the southwestern steak wrap with a side of Mac n Cheese. I never get tired of it and the flavors hit every taste bud in my mouth.
