I think Ziggy's is at the top of the list for "best local pizza stops." Our family of 4 frequents Ziggy's and we have eaten there more times than I can possibly count over the years. We've eaten at all 4 locations and rarely have negative experiences...in fact, it's never been "bad." I will start off by saying, if you want consistency, the College Hill Clifton Square location is their best in my opinion. The other locations are the only places where things haven't been as consistent...and again, it's never been "bad." There are 3 things that make a good pizza; quality fresh ingredients, dough taste/quality, and the bake. Ziggy's delivers on all of these. I've never had a complaint with the quality or freshness of the ingredients. The dough flavor is really good, and you can tell that it's made fresh every morning, and the pizzas are well baked with the cook almost always being perfect. There was one visit, I believe at the east location, where one of the pizzas was pretty significantly underbaked, with soggy wet crust on the bottom. When I brought this up to the manager, they immediately had them bake us not one, but BOTH of our pizzas fresh so we could still eat at the same time, and they took one off the ticket. The only other time I've had slight issues were simply with how the pizza was assembled...as if it were in a rush and ingredients were just thrown on instead of placed, or the cheese not going to the edge, leaving too much sauce exposed. These occurrences have been rare and do not warrant the removal a star, because there is not a business on the planet who hasn't made mistakes, and Ziggy's has proven how well they can recover. I've tried every specialty pizza on the menu except for the Mamacita, because Mexican pizza shouldn't exist. The Kickin Chicken and Meat Me are my wife and I's favorites, and their pepperoni is my kids' favorite of anywhere in town. They claim their cheese pizza is the best in Wichita, and though it is very good, I just prefer more on my pizza than just cheese. I've gotten a few sandwiches in the past and they're good, but I wouldn't go there just for a sandwich, as there are better places in town for that, and as many times as I've "meant" to try their wings, I still haven't. The baked pretzel sticks are our favorite thing on the appetizer The atmosphere of Ziggy's is great, but again, there's just something about that College Hill location that feels more special than the others. Part of it is just that Clifton Square is a neat area, but part of it is the locations "hidden gem" feel. The restaurants are always clean and I've never seen anything to cause me concern. The service has always been friendly, but depending on the location and how busy they are it can take a few minutes before you get service. That said, I've gone plenty of times over my (1 hr) lunch break and never had an issue getting in-and-out on time. In terms of cost, Ziggy's is a great value. Their pizzas are perfect for an individual with an appetite to eat alone or for 2 to share...we generally order 2 pizza's for myself, my wife, and our 2 kids (5-7yo) and it's the perfect amount...my wife and I share one and I generally finish off a slice or two of the kids' pizza, and it generally costs us right around $30 to eat there if we're just ordering pizza. I love to eat out and support local business, and it's always satisfying to find a local restaurant who doesn't just rely on "local loyalty" to succeed but actually produces great food. read more

This is a very small eatery and I passed by this every few weeks when I come to get my eyelashes. This particular day I decided I'm going to try something from this place. I wasn't starving so I knew I didn't want to get a pizza so I decided to get some barbecue wings and some breadsticks. What can I say, the breadsticks were nice and thick and always just like I like them and the sauce for dipping, perfecto. But let me tell you about them wings. These were some of the absolute best wings that I have ever had. Juicy with just the right amount of barbecue sauce so nice and thick pieces. And of course the ranch dipping sauce immaculate. And for somebody that wasn't all that hungry I ate more than I should have. This will be something I get regularly. One day I'll have to try their pizzas when I know I've got somebody else with me. read more

This is a small but good restaurant. Parking wasn't too bad, we got there before a rush. The staff was welcoming and professional. It took a bit for the food to come out but it was worth the wait. We started with cheesy garlic bread, which I might add was the best cheese garlic bread I've had. My husband did have one complaint about the marinara sauce. He said it was a little bland and taste like it came from a jar. We also order bbq wings. Those were so good!! They weren't breaded but they had a nice crisp and char to them. They were cooked to perfection and the taste was so delicious! We ordered two pizzas the first one was the Meat Me at Ziggy's. It had all the meats and the pizza dough was perfectly cooked also. It was fluffy on the inside but not heavy and crispy on the out side. We really enjoyed the pizza. We also ordered the Cheese Johnson. The pizza dough was great but I thought it didn't have enough pizza sauce on it if any. Lots of cheese which we like. However it was a little lacking on the pizza sauce. In the end it was a really good pizza place to sit and have good conversation and good food. They also have a bar in there if you wanted to enjoy some drinks. Very disappointed. Heard great things about this place but was completely underwhelmed. Arrived at 6:55 pm on a Wednesday and stood at the door waiting to be seated without acknowledgement for several minutes, the place was packed, had to yell over folks at full bar to the bartender to ask about a seat. Sat myself without menu and waited 7 more minutes to get a menu with two waitresses walking by ignoring me. Shouted "Hello! Hello? Hello?!" at one standing with back to me to get her attention and get a menu. Worried about time (had a zoom at 8 pm at my hotel 3 minutes away) I ordered a chef salad to eat there & a pizza "to go" for after my meal (sensing it would take forever if I tried to eat pizza there)... I waited 20 minutes for a chef salad! No French dressing, no thousand island. Pitiful thing. This Chef salad was a huge plate of lettuce (not another veggie in sight), grated cheese, bacon and one slice of thin turkey torn up on top. Never in my life have I seen so little meat/cheese or veggies (a cucumber? A carrot?) on a chef salad. Complained and got a small cup of turkey from nice waitress who apologized saying "New 15 yr old kid in salad prep!" And shrugged. ‍ Ate it in 10 minutes leaving half the plate of lettuce, and had to ask another waitress to find my waitress. Asked for my pizza to go at 7:40pm cuz I had to run & needed to pay and leave. Sadly: Pizza was cold! (Had it been sitting in kitchen 20 minutes??) Tasted ok, later, but not amazing. Pretty average pizza. Personally not a big fan of the square-shaped pizzas. Big believer that pizzas should be round, but I will agree that there's no change in flavor due to the squareness of a pizza. What I had: Classic Ziggy: at first glance, the pizza doesn't really look too special. Pretty normal looking ingredients on top tough looking cheese. I felt that the ingredients were a little misproportioned. Each bite didn't bring the same fullness and richness of flavor of all or majority of the ingredients. That being said, the ingredients did bring their own flavors and weren't overpowered by one single ingredient. The cheese is not very stringy. I'm a huge fan of cheese that just follows your mouth after you take a bite. The marinara leaves you wanting a little more flavor and a stronger flavor profile that accompany the pizza. Overall, the pizza at Ziggy's is okay. Not something I would go out of the way to eat. I don't really highly recommend this place either. This is one of my favorite spots in town. This place is very popular for outside dining underneath the shades of the trees, with a great chance of good vibes. Tried Ziggy's for the first time tonight, and so far, it's our favorite pizza in Wichita. We got a Meat me at Ziggy's, which had plenty of meat and just the right amount of cheese. We also got a Ziggy's Classic, which my wife and daughter loved. The crust is perfect, and makes a great breadstick when you're done eating the toppings. The crust is light and airy but has a nice crunch too, and a good flavor without being too sweet. The sauce was also just right so it doesn't distract from the toppings. Eh, not that great for the price and what you get. Service was mediocre at best and they weren't very busy so I don't know why. We got the sampler appetizer which was smaller than I would have expected for the price, if I would have seen the picture we would have skipped it. This is a pizza place, with really great pizza. I really like the uniqueness but it's not a round shaped pizza, but a 9 x 13. The pizza is much more like a thin crust with a decent crust. It has a good flavor and the marinara is really good. We had excellent service and the food was really good. My only thing to point out would be that they don't have fries or anything like that. I never leave reviews on places but this was a huge let down. I always go to the Clifton location for lunch and finally convinced my fiance to go for lunch but knew on a Saturday that their location would have no parking so we went to this one. We sat and got our drinks and then sat at least 15-20 minutes and had lost our appetite by the time they came back to order and it wasn't busy. We asked to pay for our drinks and leave and they allowed us to go ahead and leave without paying for the drinks. It was not busy at all. read more

The food was terrible had kind of high expectations considering it LOOKED good and had a good amount of positive reviews. i'm from out of town and had no idea it was a really bad place to eat. The chicken tasted and smelt like fish, the veggies where mushy and didn't taste like anything which is super strange and omg the service was so bad. i set bars low when trying new places cause you never know but WOW she didn't let us finish ordering before cutting us off and taking the menus away from us this is a restaurant the whole point is to order and get food :/ along with just the general attitude that you're a inconvenient like what??but the ambiance of the place is fine it's a walk in and seat yourself kinda place it works well. Really disappointed. The pizza itself tastes like pizza hut's pan pizza but worse. It is salty, bland and lacks a lot of toppings. Just a thin pizza overloaded with cheese and overcooked. A small square box costs $12 so the value isn't so great. I just don't think anyone in Wichita knows what good pizza is... Honestly. Excellent pizza just like their other location. Friendly take out. And just what I needed after a hard workout! I split my pizza in half... between the meat and the buffalo chicken concoction, and I had to use the buffalo sauce over the whole crust because they won't split the sauce. I just asked for a side of marinara to dip or drizzle with and it was excellent. And I'm glad to give this place a decent review because I think they've been reviewed unfairly due to service when they first opened. There's even a couple of reviews in the mix here that give them one star even though the food was good... just because the service was bad. And did those customers say anything about the service being bad to management and give them a chance to correct it? Of course they didn't! But they couldn't wait to get home and get on Yelp to flame them. Disgraceful to review like that! read more
