    The Original

As much as I love the food at Schlotzky's, this location is always hit-or-miss. I never know what kind of food quality I'll get nor what kind of service I'll get when I walk through these doors. There have been times when the service has been stellar and the food comes out fast and delicious, and these are the times that make me want to come back. But I have learned not to expect the same situation every time I come back. I usually come on Sundays after church, so I'm mentally prepared to not always find a parking spot immediately in their small parking lot. My last resort is to park immediately across at the spots in The Home Depot's closest parking spaces, but I haven't had to do that in years. My go-to is a Pick-Two Combo: 1/2 Bacon Smokecheesy and a Loaded Baked Potato Soup. My partner always gets the Chicken and Avocado Pizza. There's something so appealing to me about both the taste and texture of sourdough bread that keeps me coming back for more. The location was renovated a couple of years ago but it seems that water leaks that plagued the restaurant pre-renovation still appear to be a problem, evidenced by the water stains on their ceiling. I enjoy the wide variety of different teas and sodas they also offer, and I like that they have a shaded outdoor seating area as well. Make sure you also get the app so you can scan your receipts and get points that you can redeem for rewards once you've collected enough.

I stopped to get a sandwich in Beaumont Schlotzsky's. It was like I walked into a funeral, started with the lady at the Oder desk. Everyone from taking our order to handing it to us seems like doom and zoom! No one smiled, no on said thank you. Come on our world is bad right now, but a smile is free! Chin Up Beaumont!

The Original is just as good at this location as all the other ones I've ventured to. The location of this Schlotzsky's is kind of a logistical nightmare, but I managed to meander my way to the drive thru to place my order. The order was moderately fast to arrive to the window and I was treated well as a patron. Good place for a quick sandwich!

The Original was the best, as it hasn't changed since I was a child. MINI-ME LOVES IT TOO!

First time I have ever stopped at one of these chains. I'm not a avid sandwich eater, ie subway ect. Very clean place, good prices and fast service. Grabbed a classic small brisket sandwich to go. Heated it up ate it the next day for lunch. Very impressed and was told the pizzas are to die for. Will return without a doubt.

We hadn't been in a while because about 8 mths back we didn't have a good experience the eating are and the food wasn't good. My dad love the chicken salad so when Im in town I always go by for that and mom sandwich a couple times a week and I just decided one day to pass because it just wasn't good so to go by today around lunch and actually sit down in a nice clean store that felt warm and inviting from the moment we walked in the Cashier and a Manager both greeted us and asked how our day was going and even if we had been there before or if they could provide some suggestions from the menu. I was like oh yes that be great and those two ladies wish I would've gotten their names but it was around 11:10 and not only was the food delicious but the presentation of the sandwich and the freshness of the veggies on the sandwiches were so delicious we ordered one to go lol and the tea was as we remembered delicious ! I enjoyed the fact that this store definitely had a different vibe a good vibe that was reflected in the servers that as I saw the Manager walking around to tables talking with the guest and asking how their meal was I could tell the workers were reflecting off their managers actions and work ethic they were all very professional and made not just us but everyone we saw come in and was already there feel important and welcome and the food delicious ! like I said we have added yall back onto our list and at the took we will be back weekly again ! wat to go Team Dowlen McAllistwe Thanks Thomas & Laura

As always, the restaurant was packed--which is always a great sign that something good is happening in that kitchen! My waitress, Bailey, was sweet, attentive, and very accommodating, making the experience even more enjoyable. I started with a cup of their famous tomato bisque, and let me just say... I simply cannot come here without ordering it. This heartwarming soup, made with slow-roasted tomatoes, shrimp stock, cream, and Creole seasoning, is rich, comforting, and truly soothing to the soul. It remains my absolute favorite--if you haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend it! For my entrée, I ordered the Avocado Multi-Grain Toast. It's a light and satisfying plate featuring mashed avocado spread over thinly sliced multi-grain bread, served with your choice of sausage or bacon, an egg cooked your way, and a fresh tomato and cucumber salad. Everything on the plate was well-prepared and very tasty. If I could make one small personal tweak, I would love to see this served on a thicker slice of buttery toasted sourdough, maybe with a sprinkle of feta on top. That's just my personal preference and how I enjoy my avocado toast--others may find this version just right as is! The search continues for my perfect avocado toast, but this was a delicious and enjoyable stop along the way. Happy Sunday, and keep sharing those amazing finds on Best Bites!

On my most recent visit, I sat at the bar and started with a Buffalo Trace bourbon while looking over the menu. The bartenders here are always attentive and welcoming; in fact, the bartender remembered me from previous visits, which speaks volumes about the level of service they provide. Dinner was a ribeye cooked medium-rare with asparagus, and it was exactly what a good steak should be: perfectly cooked, with great flavor, and served hot. The kitchen clearly knows what it's doing. I followed that with their lemon icebox dessert and a lemon drop, both excellent, and finished the evening with a Four Roses Small Batch Select for a nightcap. What really sets J Wilson's apart is the staff's consistency and professionalism. The bartenders, servers, and kitchen team all seem to work together smoothly and take pride in the experience they deliver. Even on a busy night, with spring break crowds and daylight saving time throwing schedules off, the service remained attentive, and the food came out exactly right. If you're looking for a reliable steakhouse in Beaumont with excellent steaks, a strong bourbon selection, and top-notch service, J Wilson's is hard to beat. Five stars. Always a great experience.

Fat Andy's -- First Visit Review…read more Fat Andy's has taken to social media to promote their product, and the posts feature Andrew, who must be our very own Fat Andy. We decided to take an early lunch and head over to Santa Fe to give the place a go. The establishment presents as clean and friendly, with a bit of an unfinished, "there is more to come" vibe. It feels like a good startup should. Andy was manning the counter and seemed to genuinely enjoy engaging with customers as they ordered. He pointed out the specials a few times as we grazed the menu selections. The hot pastrami had its very own sign, so I took that as a sign. I like a good pastrami. We picked out a table and waited for our food. After a short while, we heard our name called and I retrieved the wrapped sandwiches. The missus had the half turkey, and I went with the full-size hot pastrami. Now, before I go too far, my first instinct was to order the monster signature sandwich called "The Fat Andy." I did have that pang of guilt at first, thinking I really didn't want to be Fat Jeff anymore, so I thought better of it. The sandwiches were good. The ingredients were fresh, the lettuce was crisp, and the peppers on my pastrami were absolutely a winner. No disappointment there at all. The portions were healthy, and the side of pasta I chose was spot on with its mix of ingredients and the tang of the dressing. The sandwich bread, or hoagie rolls, were solid and appeared to be fresh. All of that being said, we found Fat Andy's to be a good value. For some critique -- and I go back to not ordering the signature sandwich, which looked from the menu description to have some special touches -- the sandwiches we ordered on this first visit were made with the same type of ingredients one can buy at most deli counters featuring Boar's Head products. The bread was good, but not fancy, and did not seem to contain anything especially unique that made it feel like a signature sandwich experience. Now don't get me wrong. Even with great ingredients, there is skill in putting together a good sandwich, so I am not discounting them on where they source their products. But a true deli sandwich experience requires something that makes the place stand out just a little. Aside from the great personality Andy brings to his customers, the sandwiches on this trip did not make me feel like they stood above most other good deli sandwiches. That said, I live a very short drive from Andy's, and I hope to watch it grow. I also hope to experience more of the fun Andy seems to be having by sharing his food and his creations with the community. I encourage everyone to give Andy a shout and tell him Jeff sent you. And next time, I'm going in for the Fat Jeff... Uhh, I meant to say "The Fat Andy."
