Ok- in a city with no really good pizza, Benny's Pizza in the mall is the clear standout. My kids give it a 10 of 10!

We went without reservations since it was an anniversary dinner we kept it intimate. The front area seats you with a wine list and the menu mirrors the web site. It seems a lot of web sites have a menu and when you get there they have a different venue. Don't expect a sommelier level of wine expertise in this town. The manager without identifying herself on title checked on us and others. It's an Italian predominately menu with steak and seafood. We opted for seafood fare. I had the Red Snapper and Risotto. The better half the Shrimp and Scallops Cremona. Both were very good so a rerun visit is indicated. They were seasoned but not overpowering. We go here perhaps not as often as we should. They seem to be able to accommodate larger groups and there was a separate room in the back. The bar area is off to the side again with the glowy board specials throughout the establishment. Sorry skipped dessert so can't comment there. I thought it compared with other family run restaurants in predominately Italian neighborhoods without the 20 page menu. Yes the places I went had a few options other than Italian or a mixed grill.

Went to Mama Tia's recently and was disappointed. My dining companion had the Cajun Noodles…read more Reported it was a bit bland for Cajun. Since this was supposed to be an Italian Bistro I opted for the lasagna. Start with service was sluggish. The lasagna was not very good it was chewy (Gum like) noticed the carrots in what tasted like pizza sauce. I believe it was done with leftovers. Only tasted the mozzarella no ricotta or other cheese minimal seasoning. Also, it was seemed to taste like microwaved leftovers. Meat was a hamburger. It had the texture of a flat topped burger and repurposed to lasagna no sausage flavor no seasoning as is usual in lasagna. Also the hamburger was like leftover burgers chopped up. The noodles lacked texture and there was no appearance of ripples on the edge. It seemed to have a lack of seasoning although the bread had a definite red pepper flavor not the expected garlic butter. I think I'll skip the lasagna if there is a next time. The Cajun Noodles were with a healthy serving of Chicken and a few (three) shrimp (Medium) and 8 little scallops (Bay Scallops) and andouille sausage and chicken strips. Not very seasoned per my dinner companion. I will note it was not very busy at this bistro. Perhaps concentrate on either Mexican or Italian and ghost the fusion.

I would ask for jalapeños if you want a little heat. The chips were fried nicely but did have a little residual oil. The oil wasn't enough to affect the taste, and the chips had a nice crunch. The seasoning on the chips was a nice touch. My wife ordered a pizza with marinara, extra mozzarella, pepperoni, and mushroom. There wasn't much grease and was very tasty. She would get it again. I ordered a pizza with alfredo sauce, chicken, mushrooms, and jalapeños. Everything was fresh. No canned mushrooms or jalapeños. The pizza was excellent and I would 100% get it again. Service was good considering how busy they were. We'll definitely go back.
