Large open beer hall restaurant with picnic tables and paper menus. Traditional German food with full plates of meat, starch - very filling. On this small sample, German cuisine has a lot of sour side dishes. Apple strudel dessert tastes homemade from tart apples. Ok, it is not fine dining, but great for hungry families. Outdoor seating overlooking the Hohenschwangau castle, what more can you ask for? You got to be patient though, because the vibe here is laid back. Food here is excellent! The bratwurst was tasty without being too seasoned. The meatloaf taste like a sausage which is a good thing. Creamy mushrooms with dumplings were fine. You must get the apple strudel with custard. It was like freshly baked apples that's not too sweet - perfect. Pleasantly surprised here, highly recommended. read more

We had a wonderful lunch here while touring the castles. It was the low season...and Covid, so it was basically the only thing open. But we had some wonderful King Ludwig beer, soups, salad and a sausage plate. The potato salad and green salad were particularly tasty. It wasn't the best pfladle soup, a bit salty and scanty k. The pfladle but it warmed us up on a cold, rainy and foggy day. read more

I was rather unimpressed with this restaurant. The waiter was very unfriendly and not welcoming at all. The restaurant felt a bit like a place in a train station. I had a Wurstsalat that was rather bland, the sausage was swimming in a really taste-free thin sauce, garnished with half a tomato and some parsley. The place is basically a tourist-feeding station - I cannot recommend it at all, not worth the prices they have. read more

Rudest waitress ever (purple hair), literally screamed at us. Sat for at least 20 minutes before she came over and when we asked if we could order from her she yelled at us. We left immediately, I understand we are in a different country but that was absolutely uncalled for. Lost at least $100 plus tip. read more
