We went out for dinner last night and all ordered the schnitzel--same dish, no modifications. Within about two hours, every one of us developed nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, requiring immediate trips to the restroom. As a medical provider, these symptoms are highly consistent with food poisoning. I also noticed the food tasted off and stopped eating early, while the others continued and became ill shortly after. We came here recently for dinner and really fell in love this local bar and restaurant. First of all, this is the place where the locals hang out in the evening. The Scholderer is warm and cozy and we felt at home here. Our server was super nice and warm-- we could tell the other customers felt the same way. We drank the local beer and also enjoyed the local schnapps after dinner. I ordered a US Hamburger which was a-mazing. Probably one of the better hamburgers I have ever had in my life-- sehr lecker! I also fell in the love with the decor-- there are lots of funny signs about drinking. They also had some lovely lit shadowboxes with vintage skiing pins. By the front door was a local man eating dinner with his well-behaved dog at his feet. If we are ever in Garmisch again, we will for sure revisit the Schloderer! Great food, good prices and ambiance. We stayed just around the corner and managed to get a reservation for our second night there. After dining we tried to get another reservation but there was nothing available for the next 3 days. Definitely go but call ahead for a reservation. read more

Was able to get a reservation for four people at 5:15pm on a Saturday evening - got there and we were the only diners. No worries because within 30 minutes the place filled up and it was a mixture of locals, tourists, and us. So make a reservation to be on the safe side. The food was incredibly good - two of us had the pulled pork sandwiches and the rest had the shrimp salad. I ordered a side of the potato salad (not the potato pancake) and it was fantastic. In fact, all four of us were unanimous that this is a very good restaurant and worth visiting several times over. Maria was our server as well as the co-owner, while her husband was the gifted chef. She was very friendly, kindly spoke English, and made the experience that more enjoyable. read more

The Mrs and I were in Garmisch Partenkirchen for BMW Motorrad Days and needed to find a nice place for dinner. This place was it. The husband and wife team were great and the food was very good. They cater to both locals and visitors, are fluent in English and have great beer. What is not to like?! read more

In our two weeks in touring Bavaria and Austria, this was the best meal(s) we had. It was so good we went back another night. It's owned by a husband and wife: he cooks and she serves the guests.They are very friendly and speak English, and they have a menu in English as well. Food was excellent! It's a small, charming restaurant...I don't understand why Yelp has it listed as a "Dive Bar". They have a small bar, true, but it's definitely not a dive. Lots of friendly locals meet there every night it seems...some even get up and give you a song. read more

We were not happy with the food. The servings were large but they use a lot of sauce tasting of too much ketchup and not well seasoned. The terrace had a nice view and the beer was good and inexpensive. It is a small restaurant. I would not go back. read more
