I did extensive research on my own before setting foot in the first jewelry store. After going to 5 stores I started to get discoursed especially as the proposal date was getting closer, 7 months away turned into to 4 months in no time. I decided to give Reeds Jenss a shot and it was the last jewelry store I stepped in to. I was greeted by Shannon H and after 5 minutes felt very comfortable. Shannon knew when I told her what I was looking for, I wasn't just looking for a diamond and setting. I described a couple different settings and she knew that a custom setting was what I needed. Usually custom means a premium above the settings in the display case, but that was actually not the case to my surprise. I was able to see every step throughout the process of creating my setting and then the final product. When it came to the diamonds they were second to none, the quality was just impeccable. I thought the couple jewelry stores back home (Saratoga) were going to have amazing quality which to my surprise was not the case. I even looked at the online options (since you know todays day and age) but I found out that even if you know the specs you want you still need to physically see the diamonds in person. Reeds again blew me away and came priced close to all online sites while also showing me the cleanest, clearest & highest quality diamond (with and without the microscope) that I had seen from all of the stores. Ultimately, I felt like I was at home with friends when I was in Reeds and Shannon was able to answer my hundreds of questions (unlike some experiences you may have). She was just as excited for my proposal and couldn't wait to hear about it once we returned from our trip. Everything went smoothly and my now fiancée couldn't believe everything after I told her. Reeds is by far the best jewelry store, I would highly recommend especially when it comes to your engagement. Don't let the size of Reeds fool you, its not a big box store. Simply a perfect experience!

It wasnt working, so I began my search for a clock repair service with a good reputation. I read the reviews for About Time, took a leap of faith and scheduled a home service call. The repairman came to the house, took the face off the clock and looked over the guts. He said It was quite old and he needed to take the guts to the shop for repair. A few weeks later he came back with the repaired part and put the clock back together. He wound it for me, made sure it was working and went on his way with my $200 payment. Two weeks later the clock stopped and couldn't be wound. So, I called the shop and scheduled another service call. The repairman came back, took apart the clock and took the guts with him for a second time. That was TWO YEARS AGO! Since then I have been in contact with the owner of the shop every couple of months to check on the progress of my repair. Mind you, he has never once called me to give me an update. Each time I call I am told he is working on it. He has told me he has rebuilt the part twice, but that didnt work. He has told me he sent it to Germany for repair, but no luck. A few months ago he said he sent it to California for repair, but that didn't work either. It seems my clock can't be fixed, which is truly heartbreaking. My great grandfather built that clock and it's been passed down from generation to generation. My complaint is this, if he couldn't fix it, why not tell me so I could try another place? Why make me wait two years for my beloved clock that I am obviously never going to have working again? Why not return the part, give me a least some of my money back, and an apology for poor customer service? The owner may be very good at what he does, but my experience has been anything but positive. I really wish I had chosen someone else to trust with my clock repair.
