Stopped here on a Saturday night right before the dinner rush. Place is rather large with seating inside and out. Opted for a flight of beer - $8 for four generous pourings. All choices I made were delicious, especially the Lunar Eclipse. Started off with the beer cheese and pretzels. So good! You got three larger pretzels with a huge helping of the cheese sauce. Then got the chicken Parmesan panini sandwich. Stuffed full of chicken, cheese, and sauce. It was really good. Afterwards we were still drinking so we got the Parmesan Truffle popcorn. WOW! So delicious. Only complaint was there seemed to be only one waitress working all the tables up front, so she seemed a little overwhelmed. As a sour and cider drinker, this is my absolute favorite brewery! Their house made sours opened my eyes to a style of beer I didn't even know I liked and their awesome selections of cider are always top notch. This isn't even mentioning the food which has all been STELLAR! We've tried almost everything they offer. From the sidewinder fries with beer cheese, to the customizable Mac and cheese to the freaking AMAZING chicken sandwiches... I even look forward to the pickles they serve. My wife is from Reading so we are constantly in town but, somehow this place got by us as we are both craft beer lovers. We were in town to watch the Fightins and I saw it here on yelp just as a random search and it was recommended by a few people I follow. I was not disappointed at all. When we arrived it was obvious this used to be a car dealership. (It was verified by her) The inside is modern and super clean. It's a very chill atmosphere as your seat yourself and just as we grabbed the beer list on the table we were welcomed by our server and her trainee. It was her first day but she was just as friendly and attentive as her trainer. Based off yelp reviews I couldn't decide between the pretzels with beer cheese or the crab fries so I ordered both. The beer cheese had horseradish in it which was a first for me, but it was delicious. The crab fries were good also. They were decent but nothing special if you've had real crab fries. For our main she ordered a Cuban on a pretzel and I ordered a panini club. She loved the Cuban. As for my club, everything was fresh except but the chicken tasted like it was precooked. As for the beers...they are good. The IPA's are good and they had an apple jolly rancher beer that tasted like an appletini in beer form. The stout they offered was great as we don't agree on stouts at all. Everyone is very friendly and the food is good for the price. This is my first yelp review. That's how bad our experience was. Arrived on a Friday night at 6:15 for outside seating. We were told the wait would be 30 mins. We were seated at 7:25. We ordered drinks and food 10 minutes later. Our drinks came in phases at 8:05. After all the drinks came, we were then told the kitchen was behind. We got our food at 9 pm. Beer were comped, which was kind, but only 2/4 people ordered beer. Really disappointed the staff weren't more up front about the wait time so we could have gone elsewhere. read more

Honestly, with the mixed reviews, I can definitely agree with each one. My boyfriend, friends, and I went to Schaylor Brewing for the first time ever. As soon as we walked in the outside area we were amazed by the atmosphere. It was so much fun, big, and aesthetically pleasing. There are a couple of tables, a nice bar, and a big area with corn hole and more seating. The food was delicious and the drinks were great. The pricing was not bad either. Here is why I am giving this place two stars... When we arrived, we got on the list to wait for a table right away. This was 4:30PM. They told us there are 4 parties ahead of us. They did not give us an estimate time, which was fine since they told us the amount of tables there were ahead of us. In the meantime, we went over to the side by the corn hole area and ordered some drinks while we waited for our table. We finished our first drinks and were too hungry to even think about a second round of drinks. However, while still drinking our first round, we ordered an appetizer, to hold us over since we went on an outdoor activity before coming to Schaylor's. I would say we ordered the food around 5:00-5:15. After ordering our food, my boyfriend went over to the bar to ask about our table. However, he saw the list of tables and saw that we were up soon, so he didn't ask anyone. After a whole hour and seeing five tables being sat, I went back up to the bar to ask an employee about our table. While waiting for the employee to assist me, I saw the same list (seating list). There were a bunch of names and then our party name and then more names after us. The names before us were all crossed out, and then two names after ours was crossed off. Which meant they sat two tables that came in after us, before us. I told her that we were told we were fifth on the list, but we saw five tables being sat. She said that she would seat us next. However, all those five tables that were sat before us, all just sat down... which meant we'd have to wait over an hour to be sat. Thankfully, a couple saw us and must've overheard our situation, offering their table to us. Finally, we got to a table. Our first round has been finished for over an hour at this point. We were waiting for our server to come by the table and ended up waiting another 30 minutes to order. At that point, we ordered our second round of drinks and then our food as well. Keep in mind, our appetizer still hasn't come yet and we've been sat, ordered our meals, and are on our second round of drinks!! An employee came up to us after making us our second round of drinks to tell us that she took off 10 percent off of our bill for the inconvenience.. but when we got our bill.. 10 percent wasn't taken off our bill. She only took it off of our friends' bill (2 couples, 2 bills). They also charged us 9.99 for the margarita writing double underneath it with the word rum/vodka when on the menu it says it's a double for 7.99. I don't drink rum and didn't order rum or vodka in my margarita. I attached a picture of the bill to this review. Yes, there is only one round of drinks on the bill, that's because while we were waiting we went to the bar for drinks and paid cash for them. We cashed out at 8PM while still eating because we didn't know how long it would take them to close out our tabs. We ended up being at Schaylor's for about 4 hours. Honestly, this place has a great atmosphere, I just would recommend you grab a snack or even a full meal before coming here for food. It's a good place for socializing and drinking, but definitely not for food. I know people are going to say things, however, I work in the food industry. As a server, I would have at least went by the table a couple times, made sure drinks were flowing, everything was taken care of as much as possible... We were checked on about 4 times throughout the four hours we were there... And only and hour and a half of the time we were there we were at the table. read more

While visiting my in-laws in Shillington, PA, we went out for lunch at Schaylor Brewing. The bar tender lead us to a table before saying we could sit anywhere. Sitting down where he had directed us we looked over the menu. Sitting near by was another group who had 3 little girls with them (under the age of 10). The girls were playing with the pool table balls. At first this wasn't a problem, but their playing got louder as they started to squeal, climb on top the pool table and slam the balls into each other, even dropping a couple on the ground. The parents of the little girls didn't seem to be bothered by the noise, however they were loud enough (especially over the already loud music playing) that my 2 month old daughter who had been sleeping soundly started to wake and fuss. The mother took notice and went to the girls to encourage them to play something else. There was a basket of blocks she led them to in the corner, however that wasn't a quiet game either. As our food came, we decided to move tables, around the wall by the windows in the front of the restaurant. As we were moving my husband heard one of the men in the group, under his breath, say something along the lines of "just wait until she is 7 years old." My husbad and I go to breweries all the time. We enjoy the fact the bringing our daughter, as well as our friends bringing their children, to the brewery has becaome more popular and acceptable. However, it is the parents nowadays who don't have control over their children that make it less than enjoyable experience. Our waiter noticed we moved and when we mentioned why he simply said "they are loud sometimes." I'm sure this is their home brewery, and our review to them won't matter, but they make the atmosphere inside one in which we won't return to. This is unfortunate because the food was good and the beer selection, for my husband, was okay. While I understand that the clientele isn't a reason for two stars the service is. It was as if our waiter/bartender had never done either job before. His personality was lacking and when it came to ordering and recieving our food he didn't stick around long enough for us to ask for more napkins or waters. The food was also served on throw-away plates with plastic silverware. When we head back north to visit my in-laws we won't be stopping here nor will we encourage my brother-in-law's to go here either. read more

Schaylor Brewing embodies what a good brewery should be, serving a wide range of good beers, plus a variety of good food to match. This newly opened brewery in Shillington has been a big hit, consistently packing in a wide range of customers, new and old. A relatively small brewery compared to some others in the general area, Schaylor has seating for about 50 in their small inside area, a combination of bar seating, high tops and tables. There is also an outside area out back with seating and games. (update: we went back the next night w/o the kids to try some other beers and check out the back, which turned out to be a lot cooler than expected: there is another bar, several large round picnic tables with umbrellas, several nice couch/lounging areas, plus a wide open lighted area with several set-ups to play corn hole (bean bag throw), ladder golf and some kind of frisbee game. really neat, certainly a unique place to meet friends and hang out and play for a few hours.) Unlike some small breweries that only have a handful of beers at any one time, Schaylor has 15+ constantly rotating beers, from light to dark and everything in between. All of the ones we tried, there wasnt a loser in the bunch. Hoptimus Prime was nice and hoppy and their Smores Sweet Stout was smooth, without being too sweet. (this one was a favorite at the table). If youre looking for something different than beer, they have mixed drinks, Clover Hill wines and non-alcoholic drinks. Flights of beer are numbered on their serving boards and correspond to the numbers on the chalkboard up front, so you dont have to worry about forgetting which one is which as you make your way through the samples. Beers are available in 5, 10 and 16 oz servings, perfect for making your way through several of their offerings. At some breweries, the food selection pales in comparison to the beer, as it should to some degree, but instead of offering just the typical couple varieties of wings, burgers and sandwiches, they have a much deeper bench of food to choose from. For an appetizer, try house made beer cheese with soft pretzels, crab, buffalo and hummus dips, or gourmet popcorn (locally grown) in either white cheddar bacon, parmesan truffle, buffalo blue, wasabi or garlic & herb. They also had a salted caramel, which wasnt on the online menu, another table favorite. Also a few different styles of fries, salads and wings. For an entree, choose from either more than a half dozen different artisan flatbreads, 8 different panini sandwiches, or build your own mac and cheese with Oven Roasted Chicken, Crispy Chicken, Pulled Pork, Bacon, Crab, Mozzarella, Gorgonzola, Extra Cheddar, Hot Sauce, Schaylor Sauce, BBQ Sauce, Ranch, Red Onions, Cherry Tomatoes, Jalapenos, Basil, Bread Crumbs, Old Bay Seasoning. More than enough to soak up some extra beer and leave you feeling full. A couple of desserts also offered. Service was good and quick, staff was friendly, with numerous people coming around to check on us during the course of our stay. Ample private parking, but can get a little full if the brewery is very crowded. OK for kids and they have a separate, but small kids menu to include chicken nuggets and grilled cheese. If youre into breweries, this one is certainly worth a look, we plan on going back soon. read more

My wife and I started our date night here just before 5PM on Saturday 1/20. We live right down the road. They've made the interior a really nice space, with a fair amount of seating at tables or the bar. Place was semi-busy -- noise level was tolerable and we didn't have trouble getting seats for two. Pool table in the back. Casual vibe but the crowd was a nice mix of friends hanging out, families, and couples out for a date. Menu includes a few flatbread options, a few "gourmet" popcorn options, and a few dips & soft pretzel stick options including beer cheese. Two or three deserts to choose from. I believe they've got a maximum of ten beers on tap at any time. When we were there there were a range of IPAs and DIPAs along with one or two kettle sours, a porter, a wheat beer and a stout. We both enjoyed the sours and I really enjoyed the Stay Puft IPA. The porter and stout weren't as well done. Soft pretzel sticks were tasty but I thought the beer cheese was lacking. Maybe needs a sharper cheese or some black pepper. Service was good, staff seemed a little harried but everyone was attentive. All in all this was a great choice for a few drinks before dinner. A 10oz pour, a flight of 4 and the beer cheese dip w/ pretzels came to just under $20. read more

I had my husbands surprise party at Shaylors on 2/6/21 and it was the BEST experience ever. It was very reasonably priced, food was AMAZING (I'm a wing snob and the wings are some of the best I ever had) the place was cute inside a detached garage area and the staff was attentive and so polite. Lucan, the owner, really makes it clear that he values his customers and his business. I'm thinking about throwing my own party here in April just so I have an excuse to come back with good friends, drinks, and food. Went here for the first time last night. The chicken caprese panini was great and very reasonably priced, I would definitely order again. The niagra wine was very good and got a flight of beer. I am usually a wine drinker and not a fan of beer but the forbidden fruit was amazing and a close second was the robot ears which was a sour blueberry. The atmosphere was nice and not overly crowded.
