We requested that they clean up the hair around his face, which had become overgrown and trim no more than a half inch from the rest of his hair. We showed them a photo of a similar dog to let them know what our goal was. In accordance with instructions from our veterinarian, we also told them not to pluck hair from his ears. When we picked him up he was unrecognizable. Instead of cutting only a half inch, they shaved all the hair on his body to half an inch. And, oh yes, they plucked his ears. We gave our instructions and showed the photo to the Grooming Salon Manager. Whether she failed to understand our instructions or failed to accurately communicate them, we can't tell. Perhaps she thought the picture we showed her was intended to illustrate what we didn't want him to look like. Regardless, we won't be back and suggest that others exercise caution before taking their dog there for grooming.

Both dogs came out looking perfect. She made a few judgment calls on the grooming style, which I really appreciated and they turned out to be exactly the right choices. It's clear she has a great eye for what works best for dogs shape and size. One thing I noticed right away was how incredibly soft they felt, almost like little stuffed animals. I'm not sure if it's her technique, tools, or both, but the difference was amazing. She even left eyelashes on my little girl schnauzer!! Both of them were feeling themselves afterwards and pranced around like show dogs! When we went to the park, I got compliments from everybody that walked by! Also, apparently my little boy was naughty and barked quite a bit! And Katie was a really good sport about it!!! I will definitely be using this Groomer again!

There was no clear explanation as to what happened to the animal. At no point did this guy try to get the attention of my girlfriend to get her help even though he was parked 50 ft from the front door of her house, nor did he try to get the help of my girlfriend's friend who was working right outside the van in the driveway. This guy's services are still being offered on their website! This should NEVER have happened. Grooming businesses have a responsibility to pet owners to employ well-trained certified individuals to take care of people's beloved pets, not kill them due to irresponsibility and negligence!

After reading about Katz Dogs K9 on their website and seeing the great reviews, I was disappointed…read more My experience did not match what they described on the website. The receptionist was great! She was patient with my questions to make sure our pup had all of the required documentation and she tried hard to get us scheduled for an evaluation right away. The behavior trainer was also kind and patient explaining how our pup's day went and everything she noticed. I was disappointed because our pup was declined doggy daycare. I was surprised to hear that there were 30 pound dogs playing with 75 pound dogs. I was also disappointed because I explained my pup's background in detail online when filling everything out, and it was clear that the trainer did not read that ahead of time. Among many things, it explained how our pup is leash reactive and keeping him in the caged vestibule for too long while all of the other dogs are jumping and barking on the other side and him not being able to join them frustrated him too much. And then in our discussion, I found out that the behavior trainer who did his evaluation doesn't usually even work in daycare and that she works in boarding. I'm obviously not happy that our pup was not accepted into their doggy daycare program, but one reason why I chose them is because of their focus on training. Yet, although I am not a trainer, there were some things that were not handled correctly in my opinion.
