The staff at Scenthound really love what they do, and take care of my dogs as if they were their own! I wouldn't go anywhere else!

She can't stand or sit for very long. I've been taking her to the big box store grooming, and despite me telling them she needs to lay down, without fail, they put her on the table with the noose around her neck and before I can say anything, she falls down and is left hanging by the neck. My first visit to Fur Factory, I explained her issues, and they took her back to a table. Here we go again, I thought. But instead of putting her standing up, she gently laid her down and got her nails trimmed really fast. I've been back a number of times, and they are always patient and kind to my old pup. They also trim the pad fur, which should be standard but isn't at some places. They also do nails trims on walk-in basis, and the price is less than the big box. You will love them!

Looking for a new groomer as the previous one left an inch-long abrasion on my dog's face and then…read moredenied it. I called Fur Factory and mentioned that I just need a cut as I typically bathe my dog and comb her out right before bringing her in. She is tiny and doesn't do well with industrial size blow dryers. I let her know that I prefer to come first thing in the day if possible and wait for her as opposed to crating her. This has never been a problem with any groomer (they call it a straight-through) and I did this with my last dog over the course of 15 years (sadly, that groomer retired). At first she said I could bring her in first or last thing in the day and I said sure, I'd be glad to do that. Then all of the sudden, she did an about face and turned me away and said her grooming facility would not be a good environment for my dog because they are so busy and there is always too much going on lately. She said her groomer has too much on her plate or something to that effect and then discussed her own health issues, which I tried to sympathize with but she kept talking over me. I tried to explain that my dog loves people and she would not be a problem, but the woman kept talking so fast and continued talking over me. As I was trying to get a word in and let her know how she was coming across, she just hung up on me. I feel for anyone with a medical condition however I have never been treated so rudely by what is supposed to be a professional business. No potential customer deserves that. My dog is a very sweet small dog who loves people so I don't understand the immediate judgement from someone who doesn't even know my dog. It made me feel just awful. Based on the conversation first thing in the morning that left me feeling disrespected, unheard, dismayed, and disheartened, and the judgement she made on my sweet little girl, I would not recommend them at all. It was such an awful experience and left me quite unnerved. I've never encountered anything like it. Something appears to be going on there. They may have been good at one point but to me it now seems like they have too much going and do not care about getting new customers, treating people with respect, and in fact turn them away.

There have been several changes implemented due to new ownership: 1) They no longer have cage free grooming and they put our dogs into kennels while they wait for us to pick them back up 2) Prices have gone up about 2-3 times due to the rise of inflation which is understandable but wanted to share to other dog owners for awareness 3) They use an assembly line process for grooming which is faster so our large dogs are typically in and out within ~2 hours Although our doodles typically came out well groomed for the most part, they both began to dread coming in and felt more anxious than usual, which wasn't a good sign to us. Additionally, the new front desk staff (male) could work on his customer service etiquette as he has came off as condescending multiple times to both myself and my husband regarding the care of our dogs. Our other friends who also brought their dogs here have shared similar sentiments. This is not their fault, but the location can be challenging to get to during traffic hours (they close at 4PM Monday through Saturday) since it's right on 50 and a lot of cars are going out west.

I have been going here for over 6 years - I found the post I originally made about this place…read more WELL. 5 stars no longer applies. I moved away to NY for 6 months and when I came back I went straight to the same groomers my Pup had been to since he was a puppy. I called to make my usual appointment and was asked To resubmit veterinary information again in a rude manner. Then when I arrived I was greeted by a new face at the desk. A man who said he was hired to do everything the right way unlike "before". Yet when I Asked if they were under new Ownership the man said, "NO" Here are my following reasons for their 1 Star- 1. New ownership Yet the man at front desk outright told Me ownership did not change. WHY LIE About the switch? 2. Price- increased and they even charged me. Handling fee bc they said my Dog was unmanageable, yet, the previous owners LOVED HIM. 3.customer service- new guy upfront-He was unprofessional and unpleasant. I shouldn't have left my dog especially because I felt Something was off with this man's energy. But I summed it up to maybe he was having an Off" Day. He was just rude and unkind, unlike previous owners. He would go on and on about how he was there from out of state bc his mom was unwell so I also felt bad for him, but I was also on a tight schedule. I just found this to be extremely unprofessional. Get this- I tried something new with my pup for the first time and had his tail Colored ( safely of course bc this is practically my Son). The man comments- he's not a fan of Color but to each their own. That owners who dye their dogs should do their research on how bad it is for their pets... uh really? I just ignored his unwarranted opinion but was quite upset by it. 4. going to trust myself and my pups initial reaction when picking him up. He use to love Going to the groomers and now he's terrified. 5. I paid extra for teeth cleaning which I could tell was not done and they did not trim his dewclaws which was previously always cut. At pick up, even though I was trying to get out of there as much as my dog was, the man proceeded to lecture me about taking care of my dog at home, so that he is not so matted, and that is why they had to shave him all the way at this point, I was so traumatized I just wanted to get the heck out of there, so I just paid and left as unhappy as my pup was. Oh and before I could finish paying the man asked if I was going to tip bc it is customary... really!?! I'm in the service industry I'm well aware... Never going Back - sad about the changes!

Danielle is friendly and reliable and most of all - she does a great job. We always go with a short cut on our Maltese for ease of maintenance and Danielle's cuts are very consistent. Our dog always looks the same, which is a big positive in my book. Other groomers have delivered inconsistent looks when we simply wanted the same haircut. The convenience of the mobile service is hard to beat too. It's a little more expensive than service at a brick and mortar building, but it's worth it in my opinion. You won't regret going with this business for your furry friend's grooming needs. Highly recommended. ***In the post-grooming photo of my pup, he'd had a recent vet procedure that resulted in a stitch in his forehead and a partially shaved right leg. Most groomers do multiple dogs at once--and your dog sits in a cage in the meantime. Not great. Maria is working with just one dog --yours--from start to finish--so it's way less stress for your baby. I should also mention that Maria is the best, kindest, most competent dog groomer in the DMV. Full stop. If you have a small dog, don't even *think* about going anywhere else! Not only will your furbaby be gorgeously groomed, you will have the peace of mind of knowing he is being cared for by 1) someone who genuinely loves dogs, and 2) is also incredibly talented and experienced. I don't trust my little guy with anyone but Maria.

Initially I thought these guys provided exceptional haircuts but their bedside manner isn't the best. He's pictures show that myself, and another dog owner as well as a neighbor's dog were all struck with loss of hair, itching, inflammation from what veterinarians are saying tested positive for fungus. Moreover, while the lady that grooms Shih tzus is absolutely fantastic and my Shih Tzu experience no problems my other dogs did and it's taken months to get everybody back on track. What's worse is that these people don't take responsibility for the damage they caused and they're not exactly the most polite people when you're in the shop. The American Miki was fat shamed and clearly not treated equitably as seen by her hair regrowth which is caused tremendous stress for the family. In the photograph provided you can see her hair is finally returning but her body remains inflamed because of the systemic response she had to the fungus. None of us are returning so that's just five less dogs which means nothing to probably these guys since they treat us all like we're disposable anyway.
