    Summer B.

I've never actually gone camping at a campground before. The closest I had come was summer camp when I was 13 which involved strapping a backpack to my back, hiking miles, then tenting. This was so much nicer then what I had been expecting. First the people working there were super nice...keeping the office open a little later to expect our tardy arrival and being very welcoming, helping us choose from one of their available sites for our tent. Then the amenities were great. We chose a site with water and power and free Wi-fi, very cool. But a short walk away there was also a pool, close bathroom/shower, vollyball net, horse shoes, playground, and the camp store. After dark management even drove around making sure everything was alright, making it feel extra safe above the gated entrance. I had lots of fun and plan to go again. http://www.scenicviewnh.com/Index.htm

Kind of exciting driving up and seeing a couple old campers set up like it was part of a theme park. Getting toward the office the road splits into a nice paved 3 lane rd. Excellent if there a few people checking in. The office is well presented, and an arcade next to it is a pristine 200 yr old barn. The roads were well maintained as it turned to dirt and gravel. No rain made potholes a very nice drive. The sites as we drove by were awesome. This place has great large deep private sites, angled very well for easy docking. The site we had 210 was a damn good site. Not far walking distance from office pool and other amenities. Trees were nice and solid and it was large enough for us to do extra. The fire pits were awesome, all large stones with others built up.. excellent on that one moosehillock. Everyone walking by had great attitudes, excellent vibes. Well except that one dude looked at me walking by jealous of my blackstone. Cons to get through quick cause we didn't have much. At $12 a bundle for wood, little steep usually paying $4-6 at other campgrounds. BUT!!!!! you can bring your NH born wood from wherever so that's a plus. No cell service but wifi if you are down around the office. By the way I met a camp worker David who was very professional and helped with every question and matter we had. 100 acres, over 500 sites to stay at rv cabins tents. This is a great place. We plan to go back next summer in season to check out the pool and other accommodations. Recommended for now. Update next season.

My favorite campground in New Hampshire! This is the place to get away from RVs and trailers and…read moreloud noises. OK there are a few spots for groups and you could probably get an RV and trailer up there, but I have yet to see it. The campsites here all have the basics for tent camping: picnic table, fire pit/grill, peace and quiet. Most of the sites are spaced far apart so that you don't turn your head and make eye contact with a neighbor. Some of them are almost completely isolated, and a few have lean-tos (you're near the Appalachian Trail after all). The fire pits are kind of annoying though, they're basically three-sided iron boxes with sliding grates on top. You'll stay warm and can easily cook on them, but not everyone is going to have a great view of the fire. There is garbage on site, pit toilets, potable water, and lots of hiking nearby. In fact, the hiking is probably one of the biggest draws. You could get a spot here and then hike to one of the other campgrounds in the national forest (those are obviously hike-in only), or just spend a few hours in the forest. We saw lots of moose droppings, but no moose. Maybe your luck will be better than mine. The river is nearby and there are several parks and access points to get to it. I saw quite a few people fly fishing last time I was here. You've got to drive to Maine to get here, and then head about 5 miles along a dirt road to cross back into NH. Stock up in nearby Gorham and bring plenty of firewood. You'll want to stay at least two nights, and you'll definitely want to come back.

Watching people put paddleboards on the water too definitely seems like fun too! The location is great for easy access to the hikes up Osceola and Tecumseh. Waterville Valley and Lincoln are both very close as well so there has been plenty of things for us to do and places to explore. We've made advanced reservations but also had luck with grabbing a first come first serve site by heading up on a Friday morning. But usually the campground is pretty busy so we wouldn't chance getting a first come first serve spot if we were coming in on a Saturday. Even though it can be busy, most groups are pretty good about keeping noise down after dark but its not uncommon to wake up a few times overnight or super early in the morning from a car door slamming or a car beeping. Everything is an up charge. There is no water view in sight despite every photo of the cabins showing water. Absolutely NOT worth $1,044 for 2 nights. We camp 15-20 times a year (both tent and cabin) and love the outdoors, but that isn't at all what this is. So sad to have been deceived by their posts. I hope you can save yourself the disappointment. Update- Well over a year after my initial post, Boris, the business owner, finally responded. It is disappointing that after such a long delay, the choice was made to imply I simply didn't "thoroughly review" their photos. Claiming "transparency" while marketing every single cabin with a water view--when in reality, my $1,044 stay consisted of a small cabin on wheels sandwiched between parked cars with zero privacy--is the definition of misleading. Labeling a cramped, overcrowded layout as "community-focused" doesn't change the fact that the actual experience does not align with the curated, secluded aesthetic advertised. My issue isn't a misunderstanding of "glamping"; it's a rejection of being overcharged for a misrepresented experience. Instead of discrediting guests who have spent significant money at your business, I hope you use this feedback to provide more honest marketing. I'll continue to support reputable spots that value transparency over defensive excuses.

Booked online easily and read the fine print about checking in prior to 3pm accruing additional charges, so we planned our departure accordingly to arrive @3. As we arrived at 230 a worker guided us into the checkin line and was courteous and friendly and gave us instructions checking in at the main office. The women working the counter were friendly and were nice enough to not charge us for being 30 mins early. We were given wristbands that weren't removable to wear during our entire stay. Yuck. We drove to our site and found it easily with the marked map and using the many signs directing you towards site numbers. Unfortunately found we had zero cello service with Verizon and no Wi-Fi as it's only available at the pool area. This should definitely be advertised to guests as you should know this ahead of time to prepare in case of emergency. We arrived on a Saturday and there were quite a few campers but also plenty of open sites. The site was huge. We could of fit an additional camper with our 34 ft motorhome and our car. Level and graveled. Nice natural rock fire pit and a 8ft picnic table. It was very shaded but not quite as private as advertised. You were still right next to other sites with minimum foliage blocking and could clearly see across the road into other sites. We setup easily and then got the kids ready who were excited about the pirate ship at the pool and planned on grabbing some food at the poolside cafe . This is where it went south. We found the cafe to be closed due to a staffing shortage and zero workers in the pool area. We were informed that there would be no lifeguards but found it concerning that there was zero supervision of resort rules. The pool was quite crowded and kids were barreling down slides with zero concern for each other. There were grownups at the pool but seemed like the kids definitely out numbered them which led me to believe that many were there unsupervised. And the ones that were "supervising" were clearly drinking and smoking and barely paying any attention. Our kids got to use the slides anyhow as I had to referee and monitor when it was safe to come down and keep kids from horse playing at the bottom. Not relaxing to say the least. We stayed for about 2 hours and then headed back to our site to eat as we were starving at this point. We had a good night grilling and making s'mores and then the kids wanted to try a night swim so we headed back to the pool only to find they closed it to shock it because a kid pooped in it. Yuck. Headed back to our site and played some board games, it was very quiet and dark which made for a great nights sleep. Day 2 will be better. We took a walk around the campground which is huge. Lots of seasonal folks here. There are a few nature trails which were nice but the drought has dried up the stream and natural pool which is unfortunate. We headed back to the pool and it was packed. No workers in sight still. I'm fact I had only seen about 3 workers on gators with the exception of the office ladies this whole time so far. Spent the majority of the morning monitoring safety of my kids in the pool and on the slide until miraculously in the afternoon one of the guys who was driving the gators went to work at the top of the slide. What a difference that made! Kids going one at a time now and no hanging out at the bottom of slides. I could relax a bit. It was short lived though and he left after about 2 hours. The next few days were much of the same. Chaos at the pool, closed cafe, and very little supervision of resort rules which seemed more like suggestions at this point. We ventured out and found some things to do relatively close by such as the polar caves and shopping in Plymouth. Overall we won't be back as it wasn't for us. We are used to KOA and only tried this based off the website pics of the pool and being advertised as very private sites. Our experience would have probably been a lot better had they had more staff which could have made opening the cafe and monitoring the pool possible.
