I wish this venue was closer to me, I'd be there for every hardcore show they put on. For this show there was no barricade; I don't know if that varies from one show to another, but I was happy to see the lack of a barrier when we walked in. The security was just how you want them to be at this kind of show: present and there if needed, but not getting in anyone's way or preventing people from dancing or stagediving. There are two bars in the main area of the Black Box, one at the back, one on the side. And then merch was sold upstairs, and there's another bar there. Snack machines, and candy is also sold at at least one of the bars. I paid $7 for a 12 oz. can of Miller Lite or $9 for Corona, I'm not sure what size that was, 11 or 12 oz. I guess, one of those weird tall, skinny cans. The sound quality here is excellent. They had some lights going on during the bands' sets, but nothing too showy or intrusive. Really, just all around top-quality in terms of sound, stage setup, production. All the employees I encountered were very friendly. This was a pretty big crowd; I don't know if it was sold out or not, but the place was packed by the time AN went on. Sometimes staff can be unpleasant or just generally serious, handling this many people in a theater size venue, but these folks all seemed happy to have us there. The lead characters were a hoot with their facial expressions and comedic talent. The music was memorable. When I got home I had to massage my face to get the smile off. We had good seats, but the theater is small and could be a bit claustrophobic if you're not on an aisle or near an exit.

Henry Saunders, an overwrought impresario from Cleveland, is nervously awaiting the arrival of three world famous tenors, the stars of the biggest concert in Paris history. There are only hours left before the concert is to begin. At this point Saunders and his assistant Max see their dreams unravel! Their Swedish tenor abruptly quits , and now they must find a star quality replacement. The evening continues to disintegrate as we meet Tito an older world famous tenor who is afraid he is losing his charisma and fans to Carlo a young acclaimed tenor . Carlo is secretly romantically involved with Tito's wild & crazy daughter Mimi. Tito's hot tempered and passionate wife Maria constantly bickers with him and drives him crazy! Also in this wild and wacky farce are Beppo, an operatic bellhop, and Rakon, a hot to trot Russian soprano and former one night Stan of Tito. Doors slam, false accusations abound, and tempers and jealousy flare as the concert approaches without a missing tenor. The action and overreactions are hysterically funny and non stop. In the end the concert goes on and love conquers all! Another superb laugh a minute evening combined with audience participation and some charming operatic arias from the tenors... He was nice but did a lot of pointing fingers at others and lacked accountability (although the ones who treated me unfairly worked for a separate agency....they still were the event organizers at Debonair...so yea...they worked there, even if one night). The young girl just scanned my ticket and blurted out, "Once you leave the theater you can't reenter". Management needs to address this issue Anyway, I proceeded over to the prepaid parking. The two young girls at this desk were very friendly. The theater is immaculately clean. You are also in a gallery. A small concession stand is off to side. Entering, the actual auditorium, the ushers are friendly and escort you to your seat. On with the show, "The Forgotten/L'oublie(s).". The program's theme was nonverbal, mysterious, sad and sexually suggestive. A portion of the program was executed in a Cirque du Soleil style. The show was even more great for $20.00. The show's duration was approximately 60 minutes. Rating wise, all the positives outweigh the negatives. 4 Stars. (If I didn't have that initial cold greeting, my rating would've been higher!) I was paired with a small group of out of town visitors who brought their family to NYC and wanted them to experience the Accomplice. The parents of the family group were repeat guests like myself who like me absolutely enjoyed their experience several years prior and wanted to share it with their family. It's NYC so even when you participate in the live experience it may seem awkward that an actor is making a scene (literally) on the streets of NYC but nobody bats an eye cause weirdness can feel normal on the streets of Manhattan. Accomplice still has the typical tour around the small area of the city where you interact with amazing actors and make your way to the grand finally where you share a simple drink with your group to celebrate your accomplishment. The staff do offer a hotline to get clues if you are stuck but thankfully my group was witty enough to figure out our way through our adventure. Accomplice is also great for corporate team building activities. I've raved about this experience at my office for years and one of my teams decided to book with the show. Not only did my office team have an amazing time but buzz is going around the office about this show that another team was considering booking but business guests thought it would be too cold in November for such an event; such party poopers!
