He remembered me saying I wanted to see it on Broadway (good listening, husband) and looked up the theatre. We bought our tickets and headed to the show last night. It was awesome! I don't know how the theatre managed to attract performers who were absolutely perfect for their roles. If you are a big fan of the original Broadway cast soundtrack, you won't be disappointed--this company is outstanding. When a small mishap occurred, the actors took it and ran with it, adding even more humor to an already funny production. As for the theatre, it is tiny, which means there's not a bad seat in the house. They sell water and coffee for super cheap (I think $1 for water, $2 for coffee?) and there is plenty of parking out back. Tickets are $30 for general admission, plus a $2.50 service fee. There are new productions every month or two, and you don't have to go to Manhattan to get there! Hooray!!!

One of America's longest continuously running community theatre groups…read more They put on a variety of really nice performances throughout the year - from traditional summerstock musicals to one-act play weekends with budding authors. The place, an old Civil War Drill Hall, is small at only 110 seats, so for big shows you need to be sure to get tickets early. This isn't your favorite small town theatre group - they put on quality stuff and I've met some people from pretty far away that have come to check it out. Because of its proximity to New York, a lot of famous actor, actresses, playwrights, directors, etc. live around the area and participate. It's worth the trip, especially for the musicals.

I called and explained this and they told me just to come and try it out - that I'll be able to know if I like it and keep up or not. So I did - and everyone was so encouraging and welcoming! I kept going and I can say it's because the group of dancers are so supportive. Many of the women in the advanced class are former pro dancers, dancers who are part of a company, or lifelong ballet dancers. So it's easy to learn from them. The studio is nice, bright, and large and there is a separate changing room. This is a serious school, but if you want somewhere to dance where you won't feel pressure or judgment, definitely come!

I got a fine mist of Hunter Parrish's saliva all over me when he sang! (And since he's so gorgeous...did you see me wiping it off? No. No I didn't.) Admittedly, prior to seeing the show, I only knew one thing about "Godspell", and that is from watching "Wet, Hot American Summer" approximately 1,435,262 times in my short life: "Day by Day". This time, there was no viciously animated introduction by Amy Poehler, nor any booing at the end of that particular number. I found the entire production to be quick, fun, extremely engaging, and lively. Being one of the "pillow people", I and my fellow theater goers actually got to interact a bit with the cast; games of Pictionary and Charades abound! All of the actors were fantastic and, by the end, I was slightly mesmorized, already plotting to download the show's cast recording when I got home! However, the novelity of sitting on the pillows for a cumulative two+ hours wears off about 15 minutes into the show when your back starts to ache and you question sneaking off into one of the empty seats near the back of the theater. One of my fellow "pillow people" was seeing the show for her 24th time (!!!) and insisted that sitting in the front row of pillows is more fun than sitting in the back row of the pillows. Well...at least THEY got something to lean on. I, on the other hand, lost all circulation to my left leg as I tried to sit Indian-style for as long as I could. Oy... This show is absolutely worth it! I've seen a lot of great Broadway shows over the years, but this musical in particular is quite uplifting, even for a heathenistic non-religious person such as myself... ;-)

The rooms all have a great vibe, painted nicely, air conditioned, track lighting, and even a showcase room with stage and room for a crowd. Follow the factory smoke stack (think 1/4 Pink Floyd' Animals album cover), Smacktone's door is right at the base. Only complaint is a big flight of stairs to get to the rooms, which as a drummer who bought his 1992 Tama Rockstar DX 7pc kit for a.trial stage run, was literally a drag. But awesome!!!

Much better to knock the whole place down and make a simple park space which would be a lot cheaper and simpler to maintain. The outdoor space is noisy. Its in the flight path of tetorboro airport. Most of the time the grass is littered with debris. This place is a waste of tax money and should have never been created.
