If you walk in expecting a traditional night out, prepare to be lovingly and fabulously corrected. From the moment I entered with a friend, it was clear this place plays by its own, very sparkly rules. The first room was more of a whimsical prelude than a line-up zone: drinks flowing, people mingling like old friends at a costume party, and a gloriously casual pile of pillows where you could recline like a disco-era Roman god. And yes--there was a tarot reader, naturally, because no true evening of hedonistic joy is complete without a stranger telling you your moon energy needs grounding. Once the main room opened, things escalated--in the best way possible. Performers appeared everywhere: on stage, above our heads, behind the crowd--acrobats, dancers, aerialists, all oozing talent, glitter, and just enough danger to keep you watching with your mouth open and your drink clutched tightly. It wasn't just a dance floor--it was a full-blown immersive experience. The music kept the energy up all night: infectious, thumping, and curated to make even the shyest feet consider their moment of main-character glory. The crowd? Pure magic. Full of respectful, expressive, and joyful people, the kind of fellow partygoers you dream about meeting in New York. Everyone was there to dance, to celebrate, to vibe--not to posture or preen. What makes House of Yes so special is that it's not just a nightclub--it's a celebration of freedom in all its forms. Of identity, of movement, of art, of joy. It's campy, chaotic, oddly intimate, and--somehow--profound. In short: if you're craving a space that feels like Studio 54 met a circus in a utopian queer commune, House of Yes is your new church. Bring an open mind, comfortable shoes, and a healthy appreciation for sequins.

I was paired with a small group of out of town visitors who brought their family to NYC and wanted them to experience the Accomplice. The parents of the family group were repeat guests like myself who like me absolutely enjoyed their experience several years prior and wanted to share it with their family. It's NYC so even when you participate in the live experience it may seem awkward that an actor is making a scene (literally) on the streets of NYC but nobody bats an eye cause weirdness can feel normal on the streets of Manhattan. Accomplice still has the typical tour around the small area of the city where you interact with amazing actors and make your way to the grand finally where you share a simple drink with your group to celebrate your accomplishment. The staff do offer a hotline to get clues if you are stuck but thankfully my group was witty enough to figure out our way through our adventure. Accomplice is also great for corporate team building activities. I've raved about this experience at my office for years and one of my teams decided to book with the show. Not only did my office team have an amazing time but buzz is going around the office about this show that another team was considering booking but business guests thought it would be too cold in November for such an event; such party poopers! This play is about a universal theme of love, sex and relationships. If you are looking for love,…read moreand who isn't, this show will speak to you. For me, everything in this comedic play seemed all too familiar..during the show, I kept on thinking, OMG I think I found bits and pieces of myself in all the women characters...which makes me ask myself, am I crazy?!!!??? I'm okay with that....because MEN ARE A**HOLES. One of the actors when introducing the play in the beginning and after the intermission was making the audience chant..he would say Women are crazy because men are........and the audience, made up of mostly females said......A**HOLES!!!!!!! It felt therapeutic to shout it out loud! I was really getting into it...I looked at my boyfriend and he was making a frowny face. ahahha. I was trying to get him to chant A**HOLES too but he wouldn't bite. He said men are a**holes because they used to be hunters...okay. ahahhahah. That's why I love him! He's my hunter, now go hunt! This play reminds me of the book, Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. The play is set at one of the character's home, Nicole is throwing a soiree to celebrate meeting her internet fling for the first time, at this soiree!! Nicole invited her whole entire family to meet this internet fling that she herself never met...WHO DOES THIS??!! Nicole's family consisted of her sister and her BF, her brother and his GF, and her best friend and her BF. There was another couple that were supposed to be at the soiree but never showed up. All these couples are all having dysfunctional relationships, which makes for a funny play. This play takes a look into human nature, human relationships and human behavior. Sometimes the play may seem over the top, overly dramatic and highly passionate to get some laughter from us, but I recognize the characters all to well!! I know people just like the characters on stage in this play. I definitely have seen some of the characteristics even in myself. I felt ashamed at times...but laughed at myself! The comic timing in this show is awesome. My favorite couple is Hillary and George who never even made it to the soiree! I was laughing through the whole show. Even coming back from the intermission was fun! Be forewarned, women are going to be portrayed as psychotic beings, men are going to be portrayed as insensitive liars and we all need each other in unhealthy ways. But at the end it's all for laughs and for fun which this play definitely accomplishes...I would highly recommend this entertaining show for any adult who has been through dating or relationship angsts. This show is definitely Rated R for RAUNCHY! See it if you want to laugh your A** off! Last day of show is June 21, HURRY!

I have always questioned to learn, to attain knowledge, to cultivate clarity, to understand, to seek truth, to learn one's deliberate intent, sometimes to challenge and seldom to rebel. Not Slytherin. Not Slytherin. I have been a Harry Potter fan since the early 2000s when the first book by J.K. Rowling was printed and released. I absolutely refused to see a double-day / two-part play show format 5+ hours to be left hanging and return another day/time as it was originally produced, but this has changed which prompt as my reason to see it years later in 2026. This Broadway play does not play John Williams' film score "Hedwig's Theme" as I had desirable hoped. I do believe in magic. I saw Tom Felton perform his originated role as Draco Malfoy from the film franchise. As per "New York Theatre Guide" Tom Felton reprise his role as adult Draco Malfoy now through January 3, 2027! Run time: 2 hours and 55 minutes, with one intermission. One word: WOW! The narrative was at first somewhat difficult to follow especially the Time-Turner Effect scenes of what exactly did Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy changed or prevent from occurring? The set design, staging for quickly moving set, props by swirling long robes without revealing stage hands' faces, costumes are great and resonantly brought the viewer into J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter world as an adult nineteen (19) years after J.K. Rowling's final novel, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" of Harry, Ron and Hermione. The special effects including character swap Polyjuice Potion, including Dementors menacing floating near the audience and aerialist stunts in duels were amazing. I particularly like the special effects from Time-Turner for use of projection mapping high-powered projectors cast warping, liquid-like visual distortions; acoustic design low-frequency sound waves and the entire set appear to bend, stretch, and ripple effect like a disturbed puddle reverberating into the auditorium. The clocks placed in the corners of the stage spun recklessly rapidly. WOW. Voldemort's half-daughter leaves "invisible" scribbles on a bookshelf to be decoded by a black light above the audience visible on the ceiling and balcony facade projected throughout the auditorium walls in an eerie shade of green which garnered a lot of oohs from the audience including myself. Oh! Hot air emitting from Scorpius' ears after he eats candy is very comically humorous. The narrative does include and bring back old characters as the cruel villain, apathetic Dolores Umbridge and the wailing angst Moaning Myrtle and ill-fated Cedric Diggory. Moaning Myrtle's costume was not true to the book as her hair is not in pigtails and she is not wearing the Hogwarts uniform. Moaning Myrtle is depicted as grayed out who is a ghost. Draco Malfoy's iconic film line: "Scared, Potter?" and Harry Potter's response "you wish" are spoken resonate an echo in this Broadway play from the film. I purchased jelly beans and one chocolate frog. My chocolate frog contains Albus Dumbledore card. Yes, there is contained fire, and water tank underneath the stage.

I had grown up listening to Mos Def and expected the wit, warmth, and effortless cool of "Ms. Fat Booty." Instead, Yasiin Bey arrived in a more poetic and experimental mode, with the intellectual intensity and Rick Owens aesthetic of an artist still pushing forward. Arriving by subway and seeing that incredible Apollo sign glowing over 125th Street immediately made the night feel important. The theater felt more like a temple than a concert hall, with its deep red interior, velvet seats, and intimate layout bringing the audience remarkably close to the stage. I remember sitting in the auditorium thinking about how many legends had performed there and how much of the music I listened to every day had passed through that building. Throughout the performance, the crowd listened with such intelligence and appreciation that the evening felt almost like attending a class inside a concert. Yasiin Bey was cerebral, theatrical, and willing to challenge expectations, while the Apollo audience completed the exchange with its focus and responsiveness. Sitting there felt sacred and deeply moving, as though I had entered a living tradition rather than simply visited a famous old theater. Years later, my fortune had changed dramatically: instead of power lunches at Casa Lever on Park Avenue, I was schlepping couches into fifth-floor walk-up apartments in Harlem. After one job, as a snowstorm began, I passed the Apollo on my walk to the subway, and its iconic sign brought back a happy memory from before my capitalist world collapsed. On the 6 train downtown, I thought again about how honored I had felt to enter a place so central to Black music, New York, and the culture that shaped my identity. Some institutions can be understood through photographs and history books, but the Apollo has to be entered, heard, and felt, and I hope to bring my children there someday.
