He later came to the house and spent quite a bit of time surveying and marking my property, we met in person and he provided his card. He sent additional emails to say. "We are in process of doing your survey. I didn't find any property corners on your lot. All were off site. Just wanted to give you a heads up. Give me your email and phone number. I will email you the survey and invoice. Plus your phone number for our records." He later said "This is a fun but challenging survey. The plat for your community is 76 years old!" And then nothing. When I followed up I was told he had shut the business down. This business still shows up as active on Yelp. He did not ask that I pay for the survey in advance, so it's not about money, its just extremely frustrating to have a company accept the work, come out and begin the process and not provide the survey.

They installed a privacy fence for us recently and I am rating them a 3 which I consider average…read moreonly because the final result was nice. Otherwise, I would have rated them lower. My biggest complaint is the lack of communication and follow-up that occurred, but found that to be true with the other companies that we got estimates from, Long, Superior and DanDale. We only went with Fairfax because the said they could get materials and complete the job quicker than any of the other companies. It turned out to be a lot longer than originally anticipated because they did not follow up with the utility company to come mark the gas lines and it took multiple phone calls on my husbands part before that got done. We were originally told they could install the fence in 1 day but it took 3 1/2 days. I think probably that is a standard answer but it would've been helpful to have been updated as to a real timeline when it was obvious that it would take much longer. The men who put the fence up did a nice job. They were definitely a little hard on my plants and shrubs even though we had our landscaper tie everything up the day before. I lost several plants and 1/3 of the side yard was so damaged we had to replace it with sod after the job was completed. So, I'm not sure they are any better or worse than the other companies but overall we are happy with the fence.
