Piedmont surveyors came highly recommended. I called and spoke with a nice person at Piedmont. They were out here in about two weeks (which was very fast) The Man and Women who came where very nice and professional. They did a great accurate job. It was a pleasure to leave a real, positive and sincere review. So about three months ago my neighbor and I started a "land swap/boundary line adjustment" We needed our properties surveyed for this boundary line adjustment. I knew exactly who to call. I called and spoke with the owner (Mr Burke) he informed me how busy all surveyors were at that time. About 3 weeks later he was here. He himself and the lady who did my first survey started surveying. While he was following our planned survey land swap plans he would kindly point out some things/give a little gentle advice from his massive experience from being a surveyor and dealing with the county. (Point being we probably had 3 or 4 stupid ass things in our land swap plans, and instead of saying "hey dumb ass this won't work" He gently steered me and correct things. Mr Burke accurately completed his survey marking everything perfectly. The county had a lot of comments restrictions and denials of my land swap plans. Mr Burke hung in there with us through all the changes, adjustments and questions from the county. I personally felt like he was part of our team the whole way. (And that meant a lot) I felt bad when I had to forward to him: letters, questions and or more changes that the county ordered. He clearly read my emails. And wrote back 10-4. Then I received the adjusted new plat very soon after. I would highly recommend Mr Burke/Piedmont surveyors. They are very good, professional and nice. (A rare combo now a days)

Mr. Smith exceeded my expectations with his turnaround time that I didn't mind going to pick up the survey myself. All that being said, I recommend future clients ask him what could cause an up charge or let him know specifically what is in your backyard (like if you have a shed because we weren't asked). The initial sales person was a classic over-seller and promised the world while simultaneously doing a very surface-level review of the situation, ultimately concluding that we were in need of an indoor water mitigation system and sump pump. The sales process was tortured, over-the-top, and ended with the classic "same-day-only discount" proposal (red flag number 1). The scheduling process and lead-up to the project was radio-silent with no preparation on what to do or what to expect from the project manager or the sales person until I reached out proactively. I had to call the morning the project was set to begin to even know if they were coming or not (red flag number 2). The project itself eventually began and within less than an hour it became obvious the source of the leak was in fact a burst pipe and not ground water coming in through the basement. I called the office and put a stop order on the work at which point they immediately became very cagey about what options were available to me and from this point on once again went radio silent (red flag number 3). Upon reaching out to the office multiple times (via both email and phone) to address the issue and seek at least a partial refund of our deposit for the issue, they took 3+ days to even respond, and when they did, claimed that despite obvious pictures pointing to the pipe being the issue, it could have been ground water at the same time and they were unable to provide any refund of any kind (red flag number 4). I get that I signed a contract. I get that they planned and scheduled the work. I also now have learned an expensive lesson about trusting my gut and being more proactive about my concerns. But they're supposed to be the experts! And the fact that they took absolutely no responsibility for having done a poor assessment of the situation up-front and then pretended like they were actually still right about it was disappointing and embarrassing. Several masonry companies had quoted me ridiculous prices and insisted that the veneer stone would have to be replaced. Mr. Avelar came out to quote the job and was positive that he could get off the efflorescence and would also repair the flagstone. He also quoted me less than half of what the other masonry companies quoted me. He did the job efficiently and in under two days. He removed the efflorescence completely, thereby avoiding the extra cost of replacing the veneer. I highly recommend Avellan Masonry LLC for any stonework that you require.
