I was in the process of scanning a subset of my old film photos and slides (mostly on a flatbed) and was about 400 photos into that exercise when I found a carton of another 800 pictures. I have never needed to digitize photos but all of a sudden I needed over 100 photos in digital format for a photo compilation. I called two other places around the Greenville area and Scan To Digital was the only place that had a quick turnaround - another place quoted 2-3 weeks. The total amount was $17 for 117 photos scanned 600 dpi. I paid $10 for a USB drive because I wanted them on there instead of a DVD. However, if you have a USB drive already you just have to drop it off with the pictures. One note -- you have to go inside UPS and say you're dropping off photos for Scan To Digital. You'll be in via email once your pictures are done. Communication was easy and I'm very happy with my end product. Highly recommend (although I do wish there were more locations)! read more

Lots of Googling and searching to find a good price on scanning a large volume of images to digital format, I came across Scan To Digital and they offered the best price out of anything I saw. Granted, you have to include the cost of mailing everything and run the risk of it getting lost in the mail, but to be honest, it's *well* worth it for the cost and the quality! I sent in a box of photos, separated by dividers and within envelopes, each labeled according to what they were. I received email communication indicating it had arrived and about a week and a half after they were received, I was emailed an invoice from the company for a very reasonable price (to give you an idea, it was at least $100 less than I'd budgeted/estimated for the project). They mailed out my box of pictures upon receiving my payment and sent me a tracking number in email so I could keep an eye on it. A few days later, I picked up my big box of images from the post office. Everything was as I'd sent it, plus two cases containing 3 dvds. Each dvd contained a batch of folders with names that were the same as what I had on the envelopes and dividers. As an added cute bonus, each of the discs had an image from one of the pictures printed onto it! Overall, I am super happy and impressed with my order. The price was far better than I was expecting, the service was amazing, and the quality of images are perfect. Now all I need to do is sort them out a bit more and tag them in my images program! I found some great old (40 yrs old!) B & W negatives and was about to throw them out not knowing what I could do with them. So I found Scan to Digital a few weeks ago and called on a Sunday just to check if it was a current address. I have been trying for about 11 years to get my family photos scanned. I have pictures from the 1800s and have been the keeper of all the family moments. I researched several companies and came across Scan to Digital in SC I live in Austin Texas and had been getting Quotes of 0.50 to 0.65 per picture and I had about 1700 pics. Scan to Digital prices were 0.14 to 0.16 per picture and depending on whether it's a 400 or 600 dpi and I had about 1000 pictures and I kept saying oh it's only $140 I was thinking would be 1400. I called to confirm because I thought maybe Mike was putting in the calculations wrong, So I picked up the phone and called him he said no that's what it is It has been my best experience yet. I trustEd them with my family pictures. I fed exed them and received them all back the way I sent them. They also right size all the pictures the same. I wasn't charged until once they were done when they were done they sent me the PayPal invoice I paid for it soon as I paid for it they ship them off and I receive them today I am so very happy. My mom is in a nursing home so she'll be able to look at the photo frame. Everything is in an organized fashion just like you would have in folders on your computer. I also have a remote control that she can press and search through because she's paralyzed on one side. It is the perfect 84th Bday gift. I am just so happy that I have pictures of my great great grandmother from the 1800s who was a former slave and so now I have them for my children and my children's children and my family so thank you thank you thank you so very very much read more

If I could give 10000 stars I would. Just.... WOW!!!! I nervously sent them 2200+ pictures I had removed from photo albums. They came back perfectly organized in the folders I had requested. The scans are super high quality and they were all put in the proper orientation. The originals were sent back in perfect condition. The pricing was way less than other companies I had researched. So far I have sent this company three large boxes of photos with several thousand photos. They have done a great job on everything and their system of letting me organize groups of photos into baggies to have them scanned into individual folders works out perfectly. I sent sets of photos in sizes from 8x10 to 1x1 and they handled them seamlessly. They even do a great job on slides. Their customer service is outstanding with a very rapid response time and friendly, personalized service. I have not found another service on the web that can compete for price or ease of use. These people are amazing! They're professional, communicative, reasonably priced (no hidden costs), and produce great quality. After thoroughly researching local options to convert approx 500 slides and 100+ pictures to digital, I came across Scan To Digital. The price definitely beat all others but I was still hesitant to package up the only trace of my family's early years and send it clear across the country (San Diego - SC). Reviews were good though and after calling to ask a few questions, I was impressed and decided to give it a shot (on a wing and a prayer!). They didn't disappoint at any point! The quality is phenomenal and the process couldn't be easier. I've now used them twice (once for a stash of 5000+ photos, and another for a stash of a couple thousand photos plus scrapbooks plus front-and-back scans). You cannot reproduce their quality on your own, and more importantly, you know you're not actually going to do it anyway! The digital photos come back to you organized in a folder structure however you sent it to them (baggies with post-its is my go-to labeling method), in the order you sent it to them, all oriented the right way (so no more rotating photos manually), and cropped perfectly. So go into your attic, grab your entire stash of physical photos before they rot, spend an hour organizing them into baggies, put them into a USPS box, and send them to these folks. Don't worry, they'll send the physical photos back to you when they're done scanning them, so you have nothing to lose. read more

I have used this company several times now the past 3 years, and they have scanned at a minimum 3100 pictures each time. Initially, I wasn't sure what to expect from what I perceived to be a small independent company. However, it became obvious immediately that they had a great business concept, and a high degree of professionalism. They have done an outstanding job in providing high quality imaging from older pictures. Secondly, providing them with several thousands of pictures, they were able to scan and return back to me in an organized fashion separating and labeling each one into a folder on the jump drive. I've had conversations with the team over the years, and they are willing to work with you while providing a high degree of service. The turnaround time was very quick considering the quantity I provided, and I've yet to experience a mistake of mislabeling or them placing a picture in the wrong envelope that I provide them with. Recently, I decided to digitize the thousands of old print photos in shoe boxes and old albums from tens of years ago. After researching several companies on the web, I came across Scan-to-Digital. I was a little reluctant to send all my print photos, but I did. Three weeks later, I received the invoice for 4,742 photos, which I paid immediately. A few days later, I received a shipment with my old photos as well as nine DVDs. I was very impressed with their work and decided to rate them. Here are my reasons for this rating. First, many of the photos I sent were odd sizes, some large portraits, some wallet size, some odd shapes, some falling apart, etc. All were digitized correctly and very well. Second, when I sent the photos, I grouped them into many sets by year, by event, etc., and put each group in a separate plastic bag. I labeled each bag with some short descriptive text. The DVDs I received back contained folders, each folder was named the label I had written on the bag, and the photos in the folder had the corresponding photos. The photos were even named the name of the folder plus a number. Third, each DVD had an image imprinted to the DVD itself. The image was one of the photos in the DVD, making it very easy to determine what is on the DVD just by looking at the DVD. Fourth, the quality of scanned photos is excellent (all 600 DPI). Fifth, the orientation of all the digital images is correct (portrait or landscape). Sixth, the price was the best I could find. Seventh, I communicated twice with the company, and both times they were very responsive. Eighth, the company is US based and performs the work in the US. Ninth, my order was large (almost 5,000 photos), yet I did not see a single error anywhere. I am truly delighted and highly recommend their service. They are outstanding in every aspect. read more
