Mushroom truffle fettuccini
Teresa V.

Great experience! I heard about this place for well over 10 years but never got a chance to try it. Went here for a celebration and it did not disappoint! The place gives off a romantic vibe using chandeliers with dimmed lighting. The service was fast and friendly We got a Bomba fresh mozzarella - perfection! Lots of chilli's (although I wish there was more bacon), bread was perfectly toasted and buttered Mushroom truffle fettuccini - also perfection! Lots of mushrooms, strong truffle flavour! A massive portion even just a plate Pineapple mint soda - delicious and refreshing! Pistachio icecream - creamy and rich and abundant! I enjoyed the wafer that it came with!

The food was delicious and also a little different from other scaddabuches we've been to. That's a good and a bad thing though. The good is that meant I guess they must not be pulling it out of some random fridge and reheating it so I guess it really is freshly made. The bad though is that it was not what we expected so it wasn't disgusting just surprising. The service was nice bringing us extra napkins and plates and stuff. Everything thing was averagely fast. Nothing bad just average. One bad thing were the people is. This place wasn't even crowded but our poor waitress kept getting squashed by the chair because this dude kept just randomly getting out of his chair not looking behind. Also I some guy was getting out of his seat with a drink in his hand talk standing in a high traffic area. I mean it was pretty loud but just seriously. I do have to say that it was extremely loud with music to add to that noise. Also the decor wasn't as nice as the scaddabush in Guelph.i do just want to say that the people is not the restaurants fault though so that's why it's 3 stars instead of two even if it kinda rude.

We love Scaddabush. We've tried many locations, but this is our first time at the Burlington one for Taste of Burlington. They have Paix-fix menu for $20 for lunch and $30 for dinner which is a fantastic deal!! We went for lunch which is a two course meal. We each got a salad and they were bigger than we anticipated. Full of flavour and surprise to our taste buds. Their croutons were divine!!!! I loved them. I could eat a whole bag of it. I think they made it in house too!! It has to be. That soft but crunchy texture. Oh my!! Our pizzas were burnt at the bottom. No question asked, they fired up another two and it was worth the wait. Chewy crust and a great pizza overall. More sun-dried tomatoes would have been nice. Service was great. Booth seating separated each groups of people which was nice. I always like their homey atmosphere. I left feeling full and happy.

Very busy restaurant where arrival, check in and seating took some time. Overall noise level was quite high and challenging to hear anyone. This was counterbalanced by an extremely nice and pleasant waitress (Alauna). Despite being rushed around to way too many tables, she kept her cool and greeted us every time with a smile. Food portions were very generous. I had the lemon garlic shrimp pasta and it was great, although I could have used a bit more garlic. Overall well worth the trip and using the APP, scored a 15% discount.

Decor is very cute, atmosphere is lively food is insanely good. Bathrooms are very clean. Our server was VERY kind, quick to accommodate our needs. Food came out very fast I ordered a white sangria, the polenta fries and the mushroom truffle pasta i would rate it 10/10. Added to top 10 favourite restaurants. Boyfriend ordered the artichoke dip 10/10 and the butcher pizza 9/10. Crust is perfect

Had an amazing time tonight with the fam! We had Zack as a server and he was so friendly and caring. We came to celebrate my daughter graduating college and he brought us over a dessert to help us celebrate! Thank you Zack for your kindness :)

Mother's day meal

We ordered online for mother's Day. The online ordering system is amazing because you can specify any changes you want to the order as well as specify the time you want to pick up and details of your car. Because it was mother's Day we had expected potential delays but when we got there for pickup we only waited about 5 minutes. When we got home it was lovely to see how all the food was packaged. I really liked how they provided extra sauce for the meatball and salt for the cheese. Because the pasta is made fresh it did become a bit gloopy. But that's not the restaurants fault since take out is always a different quality. In total for all of us we spent about $65. Highly recommend.

Chicken parm with rose sauce

We ordered the food for pickuo and it was ready very quickly, we picked it up curbside and paid through the window of our car. The whole process was seamless, service was really good, and the food was really good as well. Four stars because the good was a little bit cold when we got there, but still overall good meal.

Buvette Restaurant & Wine Bar - Filet & lobster

Buvette Restaurant & Wine Bar

(6 reviews)

Fine Dining... casually!…read more When a restaurant delivers the best meals, with top shelf service in an intimate setting, you call that Michelin Star or at least recommended. When you do it effortlessly, you call that Buvette, a new standard in Casual Fine Dining. I had the most wonderful evening at Buvette in Burlington. Yes ... Burlington. Far away but worth the drive. Step in and friendly salutations are offered, along with overheard lively conversations of happy patrons that have been looking forward to a night out. It's been a long few years, and Buvette has spent their time setting up and after only opening 8 months ago, they are shaking up the dining scene. The home reimagined and constructed into Buvette is gorgeous. The passthrough fireplace, with Buvette proudly emblazoned on it, plays the center piece. The sunken sunroom dining area, the intimate bar, stairs to the second floor dining area all pass by warmth of the fire. And of course, opposite to the fireplace is the glass encased small collection of fine wines. Though Buvette is a Winebar, let's not forget their handcrafted cocktails. The owner was cheeky and named them after businesses around the historic Village Square of Downtown Burlington. From carpaccio to cauliflower bites, burrata to pastas, steaks to lobster, the names may be standard, but the food here is elevated to a whole new level. My fav? Obvisouly The Buvette Signature Share Platter! A mouthwatering board featuring steak, lobster, shrimps, lamb, and all the fixings. Whether you are here for vibes and drinks, spend some quality time with family, or a special someone, you really came to the right place. My night was amazing, however, take a gander at the menu before heading out. The place is casual but don't forget, it is Fine Dining. Bring your card made of metal... or someone you know that is!!! Downtown Burlington continues to impress me as a place for upscale living, and I think Buvette has given me another reason to perhaps make a move? Hmmm... CHEERS!!!

We eventually found it. Upon arrival, the door swung open and struck a seated guest -- a sign of just how small the space is. The restaurant was full except for one four-top (clearly ours), and we stood awkwardly in the entrance -- which is essentially inside the dining room -- waiting to be acknowledged. When greeted, we were asked if we had a reservation. We said yes. "Table for eight?" we were asked, which felt impossible given the size of the room. We clarified four, and were pointed to the only open table. No name was requested; we realistically could have just walked in and taken it. The space is starkly lit with aggressive bright white lighting that feels more clinical than cozy. The artwork is interesting and gives a gallery-like feel -- it seems the restaurant is aiming for a downtown Toronto wine bar aesthetic, but it doesn't quite land. Our table was missing water glasses, and the stemware was mismatched -- not in an intentional, charming way, but more in a "we ran out" way. Once seated, we weren't acknowledged or offered water for nearly 20 minutes. Not rushing guests is one thing; leaving them feeling forgotten is another. When our server finally arrived, the service set the tone for the evening. One glass of water was poured before he realized another was missing. He disappeared, returned with a glass, inspected it mid-pour, then walked away again (dirty glass). After several more trips and long gaps, everyone eventually received water -- about 15 minutes later. He was polite and friendly, just clearly untrained. He shared that the owner is also the sommelier, cook, and server, and that he liked working there because he wasn't expected to know much about wine -- an interesting admission for a wine bar. The owner greeted us warmly but asked only one guest about wine preferences -- ironically the only non-wine drinker at the table. The concept appeared to be sommelier-led, though this was never explained. If that is the intention, engaging the entire table is essential. That said, the wines themselves were enjoyable; the service surrounding them was not. The Taste of Oakville menu promised three curated 3-oz pours paired with a charcuterie board for two. The pours arrived unevenly and slowly, with little explanation of the pairings. The charcuterie boards were plain and inconsistent between tables despite containing similar items -- basic fruit, crostini, simple cured meats, small portions of brie, and two slices of truffle cheese. No crackers, spreads, or thoughtful touches elevated the experience, and presentation varied noticeably. Our second wine pour didn't arrive until our mains, and service moved so slowly we requested a wine list to order a bottle. We were told there is no wine list -- "we're not that kind of restaurant." Instead, all reds are $80 and all whites $70, and the owner selects the bottle for you after asking only red or white. The concept might work if explained upfront; without context, it was confusing. At one point, noticing my empty glass, our server poured me a random red -- which turned out to be the same wine as our first pour -- and then left without serving anyone else. We had to remind staff we were still waiting for our second curated pour. Nothing about the experience felt curated. The most surprising moment of the night came when our mains arrived. As we lifted our appetizer plates -- still holding olive pits, fruit rinds, and crumbs -- the servers told us not to worry about clearing them and proceeded to place our main dishes directly on top of the used plates. I'm still shocked. I wouldn't do that at home, let alone expect it at a Lakeshore, or quite frankly, any restaurant. Two of us ordered the tagliatelle, which was tasty but contained only two small pieces of short rib -- and was difficult to enjoy while staring at discarded rinds beneath the plate. The other two ordered brisket sliders: two sliders, no sides. They tasted good but left diners hungry. One guest joked they kept thinking the fruit rinds were fries -- unfortunately accurate. We tried to make the best of the evening, but it never delivered the cozy wine-and-charcuterie experience we had anticipated -- dim lighting, thoughtful pairings, something special. After finishing our meal, we requested our bills and reminded staff we were still waiting for the third curated pour. We were told "five minutes." Those five minutes never came. Eventually, wanting simply to leave, we paid a single combined bill and sorted it out ourselves. Dinner for four totaled $460. This was not the boutique Lakeshore dining experience we expected, and ultimately, it was deeply disappointing.

Having been back here close to a dozen times over the last decade, I can firmly say this place is the perfect combination of gastro-ingenuity and traditional staples done right. The vibe is "industrial chic," which is essentially code for "I'm feeling something fancy, but still want to be able to visit in my Kirkland shorts." The food has a heavy focus on local ingredients, with flavors that are incredibly tight and well-balanced. The steak frites are so tender I'm pretty sure they were cut with a polite suggestion rather than a knife. The scallops are meaty and perfectly cooked. And of course the burger is absolutely mouthwatering and make it the tempting default option during each visit. The appetizers are all fantastic, Kat and the Korean cauliflower takes the cake! For desert, their house cheesecake is phenomenal, and their in house amber ale is full and flavourful. They brought out bread and olive oil which was incredible. I think we went through like 6 servings. It was SO good. Along the way, the sommelier came by to introduce herself and make some wine pairing recommendations based on our orders. For appetizers we shared the arancini (a second choice since the polenta fries weren't available), the calamari with shishito peppers, and the cheese with figs I can't remember which. All were very good! My favourite was the cheese. For my entree I had the soup of the day which was a tomato bisque with some fennel, topped with croutons, tomatoes, and cheese. They pour it table side. I loved it. I also had the spicy rigatoni pasta which the server recommended. I was choosing between that and the lasagna but my partner ordered the lasagna so I could try it. It was very good but I was happier with my pasta. For dessert they brought us tiramisu and sparklers, as we were celebrating 2 birthdays. I would go back for many reasons, but the tiramisu is at the top of the list. An exceptional meal altogether. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and we had a wonderful time overall.
