My husband and I have been to Scaddabush several times since my last review, sometimes with friends/family and sometimes just the two of us. We went last night, so I figured it was time for an update. We arrived at around 6:30 last night (Saturday) with no reservation. We were told it would be around 45 minutes until a table would be available, so we chose to sit at the bar and have a cocktail. We were greeted immediately by Vivian who was so friendly and had a huge smile for us. We ordered 2 barrel-aged negronis and had them within about 30 seconds (we noticed the had them pre-mixed, so must be popular). The drinks were delicious, with a nice big twist of frehs orange. After about 20 minutes or so, our table wasn't ready yet so we ordered another couple of Negronis. About ten minutes later, Vivian (without being prompted) went and checked on the progress of our table (so kind). After her prompting, the table was ready in about 5 minutes. We were seated at a high-top in the bar area. Kayla came right over to greet us and took our order straight away since we had peeked at the menu while waiting. I ordered the Diavolo pizza and my husband ordered the NY striploin with mushrooms, gnocchi and arugula salad. Everything arrived quickly and was very good. The steak was a little chewy, but still very tasty. I would have preferred the pizza a little crisper, but it tasted very good. My only complaint is that I asked if I could have some raw onions added to my pizza and Kayla came back to say that the kitchen didn't have any raw onions. That seemed a little strange for a busy, Italian kitchen. We had a lovely time and were more than happy with the service. Both Vivian and Kayla were wonderful! We will be back. read more

When I made the booking, as I always do, via Open Table. I had specified that we were celebrating a birthday. Then when we arrived, we were asked if we were celebrating a birthday and I responded in the affirmative After we were done with our meal, Amanda came up and asked if we were ready for the bill, when I told her that we were celebrating a birthday. After a day at Wonderland, my wife and I decided to skip the overpriced park food and come here for dinner--and we had no regrets. It was a fantastic meal from start to finish! Our server, Frank, looked after us wonderfully--helpful, accommodating, and genuinely kind. The food spoke for itself. The Spinach and Ricotta Dumplings were packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. The pasta dishes were incredible: my Carbonara was perfectly creamy and smoky, and my wife's Mushroom Truffle Madeli was rich, indulgent, and bursting with flavor. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to relax after a long day and really enjoy your meal. We're dying to come back for another visit--it was that good. I don't usually go to chain restaurants, but Scaddabush really deserves a few gold stars. I went with my family of 4 on National Spaghetri Day. Specific spaghetti dishes are 50% off from open til 5pm and then again after 9pm. Hubby ordered spaghetti with meatballs (lots of fresh basil, one huge meatball in the center of the dish) and I ordered spaghetti carbonara (Highly Recommend!). I've been to other Italian restos (Old Spaghetti Factory, Terroni, Goodfellas, Vivo Bloor, etc) and Scaddabush consistently serves up delicious meals in a quaint atmosphere (though it is on the pricier side). Our 2 spaghetti dishes were $26 each, but at 50% off, they were a steal! The spaghetti carbonara had pieces of smoke bacon, poached egg (not sure why the egg was cold) and crunchy pieces of breadcrumbs baked on top. My husband didn't like the texture of his spaghetti, but that's a personal preference thing, and his dish did have lots of fresh pieces of tomatoes. My kids ordered the $12 kids meals, which included a drink, entrée and dessert. My kids ordered the pepperoni pizza and the pasta with tomato meat sauce. The portions were just right for the 8- and 10 year-old. To top off the meal the kids created their own sundae. They got to put syrup, sprinkles and whipped cream on the ice cream as they wished. Scaddabush is a great place to meet up with friends and family. The menu is big enough that everyone will be able to find something they like. read more

Scaddabush had their Spaghetti Day today on January 4. The place was packed for lunch. We had 4 spaghetti dishes to pick from that were half off today. Yeah!! The service was decent and the meals came out promptly even though it wasn't hot. I felt the meatballs were not the same size for everyone on the table. I still enjoy my pasta as always. Came here for a company lunch w/ some colleagues on a wednesday. Parking lot is huge and there's no trouble at all finding parking. The waiter got us started w/ drinks right away and asked if there were any dietary restrictions (there were quite a few in our group). Bruschetta fresca: Nothing special about this. The tomatoes were really sweet which was nice but I've never been a big fan of bruschetta in the first place. Calamari fritti: Generous portion of squid but the batter wasn't crispy on a lot of the pieces (kinda soggy actually). The seasoning was good and it came w/ TWO dips as opposed to one which was nice. Spinach & artichoke dip: The dip was FIRE but we ordered gluten-free bread which again was on the dry side. The waiter sensed this and gave us some regular toasted crostini to go w/ the dip. The crostini was wayyy better and not as dry. Margherita pizza: The pizzas are done in a flatbread long style rather than a traditional round pie. The margherita to me didn't look that great as the crust seemed undercooked. My colleague said it tasted good to him though lol. Spicy smoked bacon & egg pizza: This one looked a lot more appetizing and interesting. The crust was a lot more well-cooked than the margherita we had. Egg on pizza is actually kinda interesting and sort of worked! Sausage & fennel fettuccine: Probably the best dish out of the bunch if I'm picking one. The portion was very decent, the noodles were coated well in sauce and the noodles were al dente. If I ever go back to a scaddabush I'm most likely gonna stick to ordering pasta as it's the safe bet. Haven't visited Scaddabush in a while but I always had a good experience. So, tonight we decided to visit the Oakville branch to have dinner. Booked a reservation just in case since it's a Friday night. Place was busy but got seated promptly. I always love the atmosphere. The lighting is just right not too dark or bright. The music not too loud that you can still carry on a conversation. We started off with drinks- got the peach and mango Bellini and the hubby got mango basil smash and drinks were lovely. 10/10 For Appetizer we got the charity bread and no complaints there too 8/10 For mains we ordered truffle steak ( 6/10), spaghetti carbonara( 9/10) and smoked bacon and egg pizza ( 8/10) We ordered the steak medium rare and it was more of med/well done. I ordered the steak bec of the truffles but it was non existent, plus steak too well done for my liking. Like my son said, it was more of muffle than a truffle . Can't leave without trying desserts so ordered tiramisu. I am picky with tiramisu bec it's one of my fave desserts and I must say they did this right. 10/10 read more

Came here on a Wednesday night for a dinner with friends. Made a reservation through their site, which was easy to do and got in quickly. The food tasted really good and was warm when they came out, but the service took a long time. Although it wasn't very busy in the restaurant, I felt that the service was quite slow and the servers were managing too many tables in their area. I would recommend coming if you have extra time to spend, but not if you're in a rush. read more

Used to absolutely love Scaddabush but recently it has gone majorly down hill. In the two times I've been this year I've been very underwhelmed by the food. First trip this year I had the bolognese and it lacked flavour and dry. This last trip a couple days ago I had the carbonara; the "egg yolk" as basically an over easy egg and the yolk was completely cooked. The sauce also lacked flavour as well. The prices have also gone up quite a bit. I understand that everything is going up, but they can't be charging what they are for subpar food. If you want Italian food in Halton region, support smaller restaurants like Ritorno who's food is actually good. read more

Man, I'm not usually a fan of chain restaurants but Scaddabush is (or was) one of those chains where I could turn a blind eye every now and then. Sure, it's not authentic Italian, but the ambiance is nice, the food is made fresh, and they have something for everyone. But of the 3 locations I've been too, this was by far the worst. The fresh mozzarella, typically served lukewarm-warm, was cold. And my pasta, typically dressed in a rich, meaty sauce was on the verge of watery. read more

Went to this restaurant for the first time last night. the waitress was very welcoming, polite and Covid appropriate. Menu's were off of a barcode on your phone (which was kinda cool but also very appropriate for the time we re in). Waitress helped us pick our appetizers and entrees. The food tasted delicious. My husband took me with him for a supper meal with several work people in town for a conference. There were 17-18 people in attendance and our server did a great job handling everything. We started with a variety of appetizers---fresh mozzarella with crusty toast, spinach dip, calamari---all of them yummy. Being an Italian restaurant, there weren't many options for me as a diabetic. I opted for the chicken avocado blt sandwich and just took the thick bun off. I got it with the Caesar salad for the side. Most everyone else had pasta dishes and everyone really liked theirs. My husband's carbonara was great. They had some gluten free options for a couple of people with allergies. One person ordered the cheesecake and let us try it. It was delicious, very rich and creamy. I had a late lunch this afternoon at Scaddabush. It's been open since last April. I'd had lunch there a few times when it was an Alice Fazooli's so I experienced a bit of déjà vu. I ordered what I usually get at a Scaddabush ... an Americano pizza. I love love love pizza and they make good pizzas. Today mine was delicious ... cheesy and loaded with pepperoni. The chef had neglected to put the Scaddabush spice on it and I was okay with that as I sometimes request it without it. The service was just okay, though. My server was pleasant but I felt a bit neglected. Once my pizza was dropped off at my table, I didn't see her again until it was time to pay, even though there were only a few tables of people. I could have used another pop but she didn't check up on me to see if I needed one. I could hear a few of the servers chatting and laughing so I knew they were around. read more

Went there for a corporate lunch when my boss was leaving our company last month. The food was amazing and I highly recommend it. First experience at this chain and overall, just OK. It's one of those pretentious wanna-be Italian chains and those really aren't my type of vibe and I definitely prefer the small mom and pop places. I wanted to give it a fair shake however. Atmosphere was a bit too loud to my taste but it may be due where we were seated (in a central location). Our waitress was attentive and did reasonably well for a group of our size (14+). I requested an amaretto sour and it was just awful. Not sure if the mixologist behind a counter had an idea how to make one but wow, someone forgot the "sweet" on the sweet and sour part. As a main, I went with one of their pizzas and it's was surprisingly quite decent! More of a flatbread style with a thin crust. Decent size. Well prepped and garnished to my taste. Yummy. This is my relative's favorite restaurant. We really enjoyed it too. Very nice comfy decor, loved the chandelier and the old pictures on the wall. Everything is made in house including the mozzarella. Make sure to check out the little show on how they make the mozzarella. The 1 pound meatball, bruschetta, gnocchi and zucchini frites were all very good. They get extra points for being super careful with allergies. read more

(From 2020-Apr-09 during COVID-19) Tried switching up the household meal for my birthday so tried ordering online from Scaddabush Oakville at first but for some reason, the website would not allow me to do so. I ended up calling the restaurant and placed an order pretty quickly. Online it would've been about a 30 minute wait and I found that it was around the same timeframe from the beginning of the call to the time (around 4:37pm) to the time I drove away (around 5:07pm). Sammy who greeted us by curbside pickup was really nice, friendly and professional and it was a breeze making the payment via the module he brought out. I did not want the food getting too cold so I did not check to make sure my entire order was in the bags. Unfortunately when I got home, I realized that the extra order of Charity Bread that we had ordered was not in the bag. I called the restaurant back right away and got Sammy on the phone again. Sammy was really apologetic and tried to find a solution. As I did not want to drive 50 min roundtrip to pick up just the bread, he said he could try to do a refund or if I was going to come back and do another order, he could place a note on my phone number that the next time I came back through, I could get the charity bread I paid for and did not get along with a free dessert as an apology. I told Sammy the credit card was from someone who paid for the meal because it was for my birthday and asked if he could put it under my name instead as next time I place an order, it would not be to that person's credit card. Sammy was again really apologetic when he found it was my birthday and promptly put a note under my name and number. The meal was still delicious though obviously not as good as someone getting the meal piping hot in restaurant (vs the 20 min it had to cool down). Overall, despite missing a part of the order, the experience was positive between the customer service from Sammy and the food and I look forward to not only doing another takout order as well as visiting the restaurant again when things get back to normal and dine in is allowed again. read more

Solid food chain in Canada . I came here for a work trip and wanted something quick and easy to enjoy. I wasn't super hungry but wanted to get out of the hotel and check out the scenery. This Scaddabush is located in a strip mall with plenty of activities to do for young, old, single, couples and the family. Now about the food, I order a Shrimp Caesar salad which was decent but the dessert that I order was incredible! I would definitely come back and order more off the menu! read more

My wife and I went for a late lunch/early dinner at the Oakville location. We had a great time, we were not in a rush so asked our server Monica if we could have our drinks and appetizers first, and then order our dinner. She obliged and was very attentive to our needs which we appreciated very much. Our food: spinach dip, truffle gnocchi and sausage gorgonzola pizza were all made well and very tasty. We had the gnocchi without truffle (our preference) and it came out as we wanted it. All in all the ambience was great from being greeted and seated all the way through our meal and payment, we had an excellent experience! read more

I'm a big fan of Scaddabush, but there is a small variation between locations. While I enjoy the square one Mississauga location the most, this Oakville one is fairly decent. We came here with a very big group, and they don't take reservations but still was able to accommodate a table of 15 in reasonable time on a Saturday evening no less. That was great, Scaddabush always has great service. We ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and roasted fennel and sausage fettuccine, both in standard size. They seemed a tad smaller than I'm used to seeing. The Spaghetti was good, the were excellently al-dente and the sauce here was really superb as well. Slightly chunky, and a good balance of acidity and sweetness. The meatball was slightly on the dry side but sufficed. The fettuccine was really good but I did notice the tomato cream sauce a bit thick which made it a tad difficult to swallow. There was quite a bit of red chilies here too so if you can handle spicy you can probably request it with less chilies. The Berkshire sausage was excellent and they were plentiful. But overall, I loved the flavours here! The roasted fennel and red peppers added a nice depth, combined with spiciness, and a smooth cream is a wonderful combination. read more

Consistency isn't their forte. I've been to the Scaddabush near Square one and this is my second time at this location. My latest visit was short of impressive. Their water bottle seems to have seen weeks without proper cleaning; the inside of the bottle was covered with a film of hard water scum. The fresh mozzarella was left too long in ice cold water - cheese was too hard. We got charged twice for an entree and for a salad we did not order. The Italian burger bun was burned while the burger could use some seasoning. Payment process took a good 15 mins. read more

Scaddabush is a great restaurant to meet up with friends because the environment is nice and there's something for everyone. The staff was very accommodating, we booked a table for 5 but arrived and asked if they had a table for 7 instead and they were able to arrange that for us even though we went at a very busy time. The waitress was really nice and came to our table often to check and gave suggestions. We all shared a few dishes - the mozzarella, margherita pizza, ravioli and lemon shrimp pasta. The mozzarella was overhyped by the staff in my opinion, not as good as they described. The pizza was underwhelming but the 2 pasta dishes were quite good. I was at the Scaddabush restaurant in Mississauga and I had such a good experience- the food there was excellent and looked like from the food magazine. So that was the reason why we chose Scaddabush in Oakville. But it was such a disappointment. I give them 2 stars only because one salad dish with grilled chicken was very good and the manager was nice when he came to apologize about the mix up and offered my friend to change her dish. But other than that the dishes could not compare to the dishes in Mississauga! Tomato-Fennel soup was very oily - it had a thick layer of oil swimming on top, it was so ugly and greasy. My friend said it was also a little bit too bland. I guess the oil was from too much melted cheese, we couldn't figure out. We also ordered Zucchini Butternut Squash Ravioli because I had this dish before (in Mississauga location they came beautifully arranged with lots of hazelnut cream sauce all around) and they were so good but not here in Oakville. Looked like somebody just threw few ravioli on the plate and even forgot the best part - their delicious hazelnut sauce. We mentioned this to the waitres who did not apologize about it but was more like "Oh, you wanted the sauce? Ok." Like really?! (We did not take a photo of this bland looking sad ravioli dish.) At the end they brought back the dish with very small amount of sauce (that looked like regular cream sauce compared to other location where the sauce was a generous amount with lots of hazelnut pieces). So I asked the waitress where are the hazelnuts; we can't see even one, and she said "They are infused inside the sauce", so basically can't be seen- haha! The good part was that the manager came out to apologize and offered another dish because my friend did not know that this dish is spicy (on the menu it does not mention that there are chilli flakes). She got another dish "Goat Cheese & Beet Salad" that was also my choice - only her dish looked 100% better as it was brought from the manager. My salads dressing was mostly oil, not the balsamic vinegar, it was pretty bland. After all, I like Scaddabush restaurant but I would choose another location where they pay attention. read more
