Great pasta and wine! Bar vendetta serves up classics without the frills. We ordered the focaccia and 2 pastas to share. Both were delicious and very filling. This casual spot is quite popular in the neighbourhood so make sure to book in advanced. They're also quite strict on the allotted dining time as they're usually fully booked for the full night.

This trendy retro-inspired Italian restaurant packs a mighty punch, with its 70s infused decor and savoury plates. We ordered the bruschetta, the meatballs, the cacio e pepe, the cheesy pull apart garlic bread and the lemon torte for dessert. Everything was very good, and the standout item was the lemon torte; it was spectacular; the interplay of flavours was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Service was attentive and prompt. The only small snafu was that the door to the back patio was left open, and it made the inside of the restaurant cold & drafty, as it wasn't the most warm night outside.

Anyone who loves ravioli will love this!

It's usually hard to get a reservation here, but we were able to snag a table at the bar! The place is a tight squeeze, but they have a beautiful covered back patio-- will definitely aim for that next time. Tried everything the bartender recommended, and thought it was all excellent, especially the Crown Cacio e Pepe and the garlic bread. Meanwhile, she also said we should check out Cocktail Bar, their sister restaurant across the street, and Rhum Corner, their Haitian restaurant next door! So cool that Jen Agg brought all of this good food to the same block!

Crown Cacio e Pepe

Back exactly one year after visiting for our anniversary. Food is just as beautiful and high quality as last time. We ordered the bruschetta with smoked ricotta, crown cacio e Pepe and rapini. Perfect portion sizes. We regretted not getting the olives. Service was spectacular, we even got free passion fruit sorbet for dessert! Only small complaint - the noise level was quite loud as the dining space is small. You will have to lean in to hear each other but that's a minor detail. One of the best places in the City!

Went there as a walk-in after Fourth Man in the Fire ran out of dough. A perfect place for a date or a catch-up. Small but well executed menu, as it should be. Cozy lighting and adorable patio in the back. Music was a bit loud, but that's just a preference. Will definetly go back!

Cacio e pepe

It's an open kitchen next to the bar which makes the restaurant smells so good. The focaccia bread was very soft and paired great with the burrata. I was most surprised by the bitter greens salad which was really yummy and flavourful. It was not very bitter, just a hint. The two pastas we got were delicious and I thought the crown shape of their signature cacio e pepe was interesting.

Cheesy Garlic Bread 10/10 but small portion

Overall, the food, service and ambiance was excellent. I would definitely return and recommend. The cheesy garlic bread is a must have as it was the best I've ever had. The pasta was cooked well and very flavourful - no shortage of sauce. The Crown Cacio e Pepe pasta was really good, portion was small yet filling. Rapini was cut very small which i enjoyed and it had parmesan cheese on top which was a nice additional touch of flavour on top. I also tried the special pasta of the day - ricotta filled ravioli with truffle oil sauce - it was excellent. Constructive feedback: They should have complementary bread to soak up the left over sauce from the pasta. It's a cute small restaurant with vintage decor, a unique and enjoyable ambiance. The server was very friendly and prompt. The food took a while (about 25 minutes) to come out although it wasn't a problem for us.

Another banger brought to you by Jen Agg. This cozy little spot is filled with vintage decor and transports you to a time long ago. The bar is beautiful, and the small open kitchen fills the room with delectable aromas. The food was overall very good, no misses, and most having a small twist on classic dishes. Here's the rundown: - Farro salad: loved the mushrooms, rest of the dish was a bit average for me - Garlic bread was delicious, perfectly melty and filled with cheese, and drizzled with honey which made for a deliciously sticky bite - Trecce: pesto pasta which had some really nicely smoked veggies, the cheesy pesto sauce was lovely - Rigatoni: the sauce was warm and cozy and the ultimate comfort food. The fried potatoes on top were too dominant of a texture but made for a nice bite separately. - Cacio e pepe crown: personally I'm not a fan of ricotta cheese so I didn't love this one, but the idea was excellent and the lemony cacio e pepe sauce was delicious - Gelato was pistachio, the flavour was light but the crushed pistachios throughout made for a nice crunchy bite Overall really enjoyed this spot and would love to come back to try more items on the menu. It would be perfect for a more intimate evening such as date night.

The back patio was aesthetic. It felt like we were eating in a log cabin and very cozy. The service was very quick and the food was tasty. I would recommend the potatoes and meatballs. Portions were a good size, we barely finished the 4 dishes. Will be back soon!

This bottle shop has a unique variety of natural, organic, and biodynamic wines that may rotate depending on the season. The space also has a wine bar where you can try different wines by the glass or treat yourself in a wine flight or a whole bottle. The by the glass menu changes weekly where you get to have a chance to try new and exciting wines from different regions. I've been to Grape Witches several times but I was able to sit down at their wine bar this time and enjoy a wine flight (three 1oz pours featuring wines from Germany) and a glass of wine. Having the wine flight, I was able to find a new rose that I really enjoyed that I ended up getting a glass of it afterwards. Staff are extremely friendly, personable, and knowledgeable about wine where they can give you suggestions based on your preferences without being pretentious. You are also able to taste any wines you're interested in on the menu to see if you like them as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Grape Witches enjoying the delicious selections where I even found new favourites. Overall, a great new wine shop and bar at Waterworks Food Hall. If you love all things wine this is the place to go. They have unique bottles you can purchase and friendly staff to help you with selecting your wines. Will definitely be back to try other glasses of wine in the future!

We arrived around 3:30 pm when it was fairly occupied; they feature 'Happy Sour Hour' from 4 to 7 pm, during which all of their sour beers are reduced in price to $7.00. We ordered and shared two beers, the first a lager, the second a sour beer in order to take advantage of the discounted price. The venue is long and narrow, with two floors and a distinctive looking back patio. Our service was fairly prompt and they are located in a quite convenient location, literally across the street from the subway and the historic, flagship LCBO location. So I can recommend a visit if you're in the area and desire a drink and/or snack.

This must be the place!…read more Our first trip to Toronto and boy did we have fun. From delicious food to sipping wine, and everything in between, Toronto was a city to explore. Ladybug Wine Bar is a cute but also sophisticated wine bar located on King Street, steps away from shopping and restaurants. We stopped in here on a snowy Sunday before our flight home. They also serve Sunday Brunch. We grabbed a few open seats at the comfy bar. They do not offer wine flights, which made this experience pretty darn expensive but SOOOO worth it. We had such a fun time and the people working were so nice, we honeslty did not want to leave. They were willing to help with our selections. We actually ordered all their Reds by the glass. I know, but there were only about 6 and we had to try them all. I like to say "go big or go home" LOL! We loved almost all except for maybe a few. We ended up also ordering a charcuterie while we sip. And of course I brought a bottle home with me. If you are ever in Toronto, please check out Ladybug wine bar, it is fantastic, you won't want to leave. Cheers!

Service was nice and the place was cozy/bright. Highly recommend this spot for a girls' brunch or casual date.

The artichokes were mediocre (loved the sauce they came with). Worst of all was the "Ontario peaches" with the burrata were totally canned peaches - could've even been dole brand! This place has amazing potential with the location and vibe - but the food just was not it. Small portions and the price didn't match what was served. The service was friendly but nothing too crazy. Our server was great at helping us pick our wine, he mentioned that their wines are all on the dry side which is perfect for me, I'm not one for sweet wines. We also had two of their small plates the mussels and the burrata. The mussels tasted great with the sauce, a little garlicky which I prefer. The combination of the peach and mint went really well with the burrata. Light and easy to eat. The patio at night is one of the highlights. The only small complaint was it did take a while to get our wine after we ordered it and a little while to get our check. Otherwise cute spot.

No cover, no lineups, just a nice local neighbourhood bar near the bridge and a bunch of other autoshops. Was walking back from an art gallery and we just literally stumbled upon it and sat down for a catch up drink. I feel like Toronto needs more places like this. Quiet neighborhood bars with a nice selection of music, quality cocktails, not too expensive, no lines ups. Nice slightly mature place for people to catch up and have a drink without having to venture heavily into the Dundas West bar scene where it's way more hectic.
