If you need good, honest, knowledgeable, REAL wood floor install/maintenance/care -- call Marcus at…read moreGreen Life Floors. He is seriously the bomb. He SAVED my renovation from a contractor that ordered the wrong species of wood - it was literally sitting in my living room acclimating when he came out and looked at it and immediately knew it was the wrong species. He sourced and ordered the correct product, and then refinished my old floors and installed the new hardwood to the point where I have no clue where the floors meet. Now - a more than a YEAR later - I am THRILLED with my choice to use natural oil on my floors vs Poly that all the other contractors were pushing. Someone spilled something in the kitchen that had a tannic reaction (i.e. - big black blob spot smack in the middle of the floor). Marcus came out with his knife and 3 dabs of Monocoat oil and I can't even tell where it was. SO happy and SO relieved that it was a 2 minute (literally!) fix and not $1,000s to refinish my brand new floors. I am SUPER SUPER hard to please, crazy OCD, and can be quite hard on service companies. This one is OUTSTANDING. A++

Our main request was for the new flooring to match our current stair treads which was solid oak, English Chestnut stain, and oil-based polyurethane wood finish (a meticulous lengthy process but leads to superior results). Their bid matched the market rate, and with the other reviews, we decided to go with Joes Hardwood. The team delivered and we are happy with the result. The current team managing Joe's is young and hardworking. My only feedback is to improve on their time-management especially when arrival time is different from the confirmed/scheduled time. A final suggestion that the team review the bid as it includes specifics about the project and type of finish. Overall, happy with their work and if need be in 20 years will hire them again to refinish.

Melissa is always very prompt in communication, and the paperwork to get things going is as straightforward as I've ever seen it. The terms are very clear, expectations are very well laid-out. Ruben himself is a very detail-oriented guy, striving for excellence; even the slightest bump in the subfloor bothers him, and he takes the time to make sure things are flat and well-prepared before the planks go down. His team is very courteous and hard-working...they worked past dinnertime just to meet the deadline, and I really appreciate their willingness to push hard to get things done. Melissa his wife was very prompt to return emails as we had questions about our estimate. When we decided to have them install our floors, they were able to schedule us sooner than expected. The job did take longer than expected, however this was due the fact that our home had uneven floors that Ruben worked on tirelessly to make sure the install lived up to our expectations. We did compare a few other places and their prices were competitive. There was one place that seemed cheaper, but they were not as helpful and kept changing the details of the job. I am very happy we chose Five Panels - friendly people, excellent service, and professional job.
