Spicy Egg & Bacon I Am

Absolutely incredible! We tried the "Spicy Egg & Bacon I Am" and the "Brie Baby", both were so good and awesome flavor combinations!!! Very friendly and great service, love the location as well. Would 100% recommend to everyone!

    Sweet & savory

The absolute most bangin grilled cheese sandwiches I've ever had!! Loved it so much that I made the drive from Asheville two more times (three total in October) before they closed for the season on Oct 31. I will definitely be back in 2024 when they reopen!! I think I met the whole family that owns the place through the course of my various visits, and they were all extremely welcoming and personable. I definitely recommend supporting this excellent local business!!

Another Sister Trip to Blowing Rock has come and gone. It's hard to believe there were shoppes that were new to us. Let's start with SAY CHEESE. This might sound like a photography shop but it's not. It is the BEST gourmet grilled cheese eatery. This is owned by a husband and wife team. She was so sweet and informative. She also said if we wanted to alter an item or order something special, she would do it, if she had the ingredients. We both ordered the Sweet & Savory. It was crisp bacon, peach jalapeño jam, smoked Gouda and provolone all held together with perfectly buttered and grilled sourdough bread. It was perfect golden crispness meets ooey gooey cheese, meets sweet hot jam and bacon. This combination cannot be beat. My sister will challenge that statement because she subbed the peach jalapeño jam for fig jam and it was delicious too. They are to go only but they have a lovely patio area to enjoy your sandwich. They are in the heart of downtown BR. Don't miss this delectable spot.

love this place! We ordered Brie baby (best selling sandwich and it's true!) and spicy egg and bacon. Both are so good. Brie baby is sweet and savory. Spicy egg and bacon is fabulous if you're a bacon fan.

What an amazing spot! Spent the day touring Main Street and stopped for lunch at Say Cheese. Beautiful, relaxing setting with unbelievably delicious grilled cheese!! Had the Brie Baby and Brie Momma - the best! Quick service and super friendly owners. Will be back every time we come through Blowing Rock!

Pictures do not do these sandwiches justice. So freaking tasty.

Social on Main is my husband's and my favorite place for breakfast while visiting Blowing Rock…read more They are even better than our now-closed old favorite, Sunny Rock Eggs & Things. On this last trip, we went twice. I got the Beth Ann Clark both times. I just love their cheesy scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, fruit, and french toast. My husband tried two different entrees this time--the Butch Triplett (corned beef and eggs) and their breakfast burrito. Their corned beef is likely from a can, but it's so good because they cook it so it's very crispy. I always steal some of his corned beef to add to my eggs! Their breakfast burrito is amazing. It's simply filled, with just scrambled eggs, cheese, small bits of ham, and hash browns. It's topped with an enchilada sauce that is similar to a ranchero sauce, and is served with sour cream and guacamole. It's a massive burrito, and SO GOOD! My husband said it's his new favorite. Social on Main is popular, and so we always go early (before 8am). After 8am, there is usually a wait--especially on Saturdays. Their servers are always friendly, and the food is delivered fast. Their coffee is nice and strong, too. I wish we had a Social on Main near our house, because we'd visit them weekly. Give them a try if you are in Blowing Rock for a visit and want a great breakfast!

Social on Main was the perfect way to start our weekend in the area…read more We drove into the area for breakfast and exploring and upon arrival the spot was packed. After looking at the menu and dining there I can see why. The portions are huge, and the pricing is so great. They also have a full bar including breakfast martinis - which I did not opt for but went with a bloody mary instead. It was huge and delicious. They have a lot of breakfast options, but when I saw corn beef hash I knew I had to try that. They have a bunch of different breakfast options and the one I ordered came with eggs, ham, hash browns and I can't remember what else but it was huge. If breakfast isn't your thing and you want lunch - you can choose from their lunch specials which are a main and three sides for under $14 - wowza that is literally crazy! It is a cozy, charming spot with friendly service and I would definitely recommend if you are in Blowing Rock.

It's definitely a bit of a drive from Charlotte, but well worth it if you're exploring the mountain towns and scenery in the area. The restaurant has a really cool upscale mountain vibe that feels relaxed and comfortable without being stuffy. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and the whole place just had that quality mountain town feel to it. My wife and I both ordered trout, which felt like the right move here. I had the almond crusted trout with basil potatoes and garlicky grits, and it was excellent. Everything tasted fresh, balanced, and thoughtfully prepared. The garlicky grits were especially good. My wife ordered the smoked trout, and let's just say they do not mess around with the smoke flavor here. It was seriously smoky. A couple hours later she was still burping little smoke rings on the drive home If you love strong smoky flavor, you'll probably love it. They also had a really solid craft beer selection that fit the mountain atmosphere perfectly. Overall, high quality food, great service, fun atmosphere, and absolutely worth the drive. Easy five stars from us.

Their cocktails are crafted with homemade syrups, and change seasonally. I had the Garden in Tibet--a delicious drink with gin, Prosecco, sugar snap pea syrup (!), green elixir syrup, elderflower liquor, and lemon. You'd think this could be a too-sweet drink, but it was PERFECT. My husband had the Which Damascus the first time, with rye whiskey, cherry basil syrup, hickory syrup, Amaro Montenegro, Tiki bitters, Peychaud bitters, and orange. He enjoyed it, but I thought it was definitely too sweet. He had a Garden in Tibet on our second visit, and preferred the Tibet to the Damascus drink. We love their unique smoked trout deviled eggs as an appetizer. This dish has two eggs filled with smoked trout, and three filled with a deviled egg mixture. The accompanying house hot sauce is so good! For our entrees, we both had hickory-smoked trout on the first visit Mine was definitely saltier than his. We had three sides--collard greens, smoked Gouda grits (our favorite), and corn, hominy, yellow squash & chile hash (so fresh and delicious!). On our second visit, I had the almond and cornmeal-crusted trout with the smoked Gouda grits, and my husband tried their fried chicken sandwich with slaw. He absolutely loved the sandwich--the chicken was thick, juicy, and very tender. He'll definitely get the sandwich again. Service is always good at Speckled Trout, and I love that we can pay with ApplePay at the table via the Toast handheld. We can't wait to return.

It's tucked into a great courtyard off of Main St. with plenty of outdoor seating, including umbrellas and shade on warmer days. We went with a sweet almond croissant and 2 different types of savory quiches, a bacon cheese and a broccoli cheese. Everything had fantastic flavors. The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is because the warmed up items were still a tad bit cold inside. This is the second time we've been here, and had a similar experience the first round. With proper heating time, these would have been top notch and 5 star all around. We'll be back for more bakery goodness for sure. We'll politely ask that the items get heated through next time just in case.
