I went months and months of applying endlessly, and the only interviews I seem to get were the ones where I had a connection (and I'm not particularly good with networking to begin with, so they were far and few). I searched for 'top recruiters in Boston' and let's just say they all disappointed. I won't mention them by name, but they wasted my time, gave me false hope and had little follow-through on their part, with no contact for months, and I would get pathetic, measly replies after hounding them. After being burnt several times by useless recruiting agencies (you know who you are), I decided that I will try the next one down the list, with no expectations whatsoever. I worked primarily with Dave, and he was so caring and kind, and I finally felt I had my own cheerleader in this dreadful job hunting process. Within a week, he had 3 interviews lined up for me. Within 2.5 weeks, from first contact, I started my new job! I would've started sooner if it weren't for the holidays. They really follow-through, and when they say they're looking for openings for you, they mean it! Before every interview, I had a call with Dave to prep me for what's to come. I didn't even ask for it -- he just did it! They went above and beyond, and they continue to keep in touch with me to make sure all is good in the new place. I met several former Manning candidates in this job and other places I interviewed, and they all have nothing but amazing things to say, and it's no surprise there. I know at this point I am sounding like I get commission for endorsements lol, but the truth is, I was in a difficult spot, mentally, financially, and I would want anyone else in a similar situation to find the same help that I did. Vocational rehabilitation, if you will. Save yourself the frustration, and start with them first.

It was so refreshing to have people in your corner who are dedicated to getting you placed in a role. Ellie is an absolute sweetheart and she and Kelly worked around the clock to get me into a position. I'm genuinely a little sad that I won't get my daily (yes, you read that correctly DAILY) updates from my girls at Manning. Thank you so much to the Manning team! Work with them, you will not regret it!

She also didn't restrict the options to what I specifically asked for, but also included roles she thought I'd succeed at - really expanded my horizons! She even touched base with me a few times during her time off. I ended up at a company I can (for the first time) say I love and I appreciated Erica's partnership and advocacy every step of the way. She has also done a great job following up with me to make sure I'm happy with the role and offering her assistance if there was anything else I needed. Beacon Hill sounds like a great place to work - I heard coworkers cheering in the background once for a coworker who completed a milestone! They also have an annual gratitude week and Erica advocated for a charity where I volunteer, and won them a big donation!!!

While I…read moreappreciated her willingness to discuss my background and her offer to meet virtually to review my résumé and help identify opportunities that may be a good fit, I found the overall communication style during the screening to be unnecessarily blunt and, at times, discourteous. I completely understand the need for recruiters to ask direct questions and provide constructive feedback, and I genuinely value that perspective as someone who also interviews and hires people. However, I felt that some of the feedback was delivered in a way that came across as condescending, particularly given that this was my first interaction with the recruiter and we had no prior relationship. As someone who is potentially looking to transition into a new industry, I was hoping to feel encouraged and supported in understanding how my transferable skills could translate into other opportunities. Unfortunately, this interaction did not leave me feeling particularly confident about continuing to work with Beacon Hill or using the agency as a resource in my job search. I believe constructive feedback can be extremely valuable, but the delivery and overall candidate experience matter, especially when someone is navigating a career transition.

I can't exactly remember what the job was, but there was some interest in one job I wanted and I physically interviewed at their Chicago office. (I'm not sure the downtown location is there anymore.) Shortly after, I ended up getting a full-time editing job with another company that I applied to on my own, so I never got to find out what the company was like. Fast forward several years (maybe a decade?) later. A couple of clients came and went in my full-time freelancing career. I'd randomly applied for jobs with this organization but never held my breath because I always seemed to be getting rejection notifications. (I don't take those personally. I realize there are hundreds of other people all applying for the same jobs.) But I'd been completing freelance work for about eight years and just had no desire to sit in an office again. I have had a handful of remote clients since the pandemic and LOVE(D) working with them. I decided to sign up for Creative Circle again after I stopped for years because of the rejection notifications. I found it was much easier waiting for invites than to apply on my own because the recruiters (obviously) knew what their clients were looking for. I accepted one job invite (along with a few more), and BOY, DID THAT MAKE ME LOVE CREATIVE CIRCLE! The recruiter (Liz) who I briefly talked to was nice. The HR and Payroll team are pleasant. Cesar (who I completed the interview with) and Paula Jean (Engagement Specialist) have been amazing to work with. And best of all, I really like the job and the duo from that company that I work for via CC. I don't know if I would've had this great of an experience a decade ago. All I know is it came "right on time" this year, and maybe THIS TIME was the right time. Even if the project is just for this year, I can easily recommend and compliment Creative Circle for how they treat their contractors. I have zero complaints with CC or the external client. I'd recommend them to anybody.

I chose this location after bumping into a pal who was on a long term assignment that he loved. He spoke highly of the company and he really liked his recruiter. I called up, and made an appointment to see her. She WAS indeed, really cool. After about 4 days, she called to send me to interview with a company. I started the next day, and have been on the assignment for over 8 months now. Everything is centralized and automated with Office Team. I've never had a pay issue, never had ANY issues actually, and I've only been to the office that first time. Perfect! Staff is super responsive to email and phone calls, with follow-up in less than 2 hours. If you go, ask to see Jessica or Allison- they will get you on a good, solid assignment with a reputable company. ***YELP TIP: you really NEED direct deposit BEFORE you start working. if you do a paper check, it has to be processed out of Yugoslavia, and it takes about 3 weeks (no joke) for you to get your first check. it's painful.

So I already know that you…read morehave to dress in business professional attire, have an upbeat can-do attitude, and that the relationship between you and the company is a collaboration (you don't sit around and wait to be called, you check in weekly to see what positions have opened up). With that said...this place was alright. My initial interview was interesting to say the least. The gentleman/recruiter named Gus P. who spoke with me told me he had the perfect job lined up for me. He told me that based on my resume and phone screen I would have the job-he gave me a start date, I just had to come in and fill out paperwork. When I arrived he stepped into the reception area and called my name (which is an Irish name-I'm not Irish though), then approached a Caucasian woman and shook her hand. I said "no I'm _________". He looked me up and down with disgust and told me to follow him. Then he told me that I was not a good match for the job and that he would look for other work for me...after already telling me I had the job and had given me a start date. He never called me back. I called the office weekly. Three weeks later a different recruiter called me Valerie C. I told her that I only wanted temp to perm work. I guess I let her convince me to take a temp job because I was desperate for work. The company I worked for was amazing. Although they never told me when my last day was, just that they weren't going to keep me. I advised my new recruiter of this because I wanted to find a new job ASAP. She never replied. I started working with a new agency and found placement. I informed her of that via phone and e-mail...no response. They only got 2 stars because the job I got was great and I made great contacts there. Plus the payroll department is amazing. You get paid direct deposit the same week you start working. Oh and no one helped me with my resume. The new temp agency gave me great feedback on it, and now it looks even better. That company is Hollister. I am going to give them a few more weeks to see how they do before leaving them a review.

I loved this agency because they found me work the same day I went in for an interview…read more I'm trying to think of how to say this without offending anyone, but I really think the reason I got work so fast was because I was a little more, hm, classy, than the usual clients. I wore a suit to my interview and came with my resume. Apparently this was not the norm here. They were thrilled I had a resume ready to go, and commented on my attire and how amazing it was. After sitting in the lobby (it was pay day, and many people were passing through to pick up checks on their lunch break), I can see why. I saw people wearing jeans, stained clothing, shorts, trashy skirts, and other office no-no's. I mean, I am sure some jobs have relaxed dress codes, but this was a little much. No one who came in was dressed remotely professional. Anyway, I got an assignment at a fancy law firm for a few months. The pay was decent, the hours were constant and I had no real complaints. However about 3 weeks into it, another job came up for me, and I had to take it, and cut my stay here short. I know that is not the most professional thing to do, but I had bills to pay and the other job had insurance, paid more and was closer to home. When I called in to give my very short notice, my agent, Victor was extremely understanding and genuinely happy for me. He was always very friendly when I went into the office, and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend him. However his boss, whose name I cannot recall (Mike? he was a large Italian dude.), was nothing short of an a-hole to me. After I had cleared everything with Victor and gone out with some friends, I got a phone call from this guy. He basically called to harass me about leaving. He wanted to know all the details on my new job, and then tried to pick apart my choice. He was VERY rude about it. Who calls up someone to yell at them after they quit?? This guy, that's who. He wouldn't listen to what I said in response and was just so rude I hung up on him. The following week I went in to collect my last paycheck (very needed so i could pay rent that weekend). The woman at the front desk could not find it in the box of held checks. She searched around, asked a few people, then said sorry, it must have been mailed by accident. i was quite upset by this and asked her to keep looking around. Somehow she ended up calling the tool who yelled at me the other day, and it turns out he was holding it. So he came out to the front with it, handed it to me and gave me a dirty look. LIke a 5 year old who is sulking! What was the point of that? He really had to give me my check in person just for that? And what if I had just given up and accepted that it had been mailed by mistake? Would he have mailed it or held onto it in anger? It was just so unprofessional, it blew my mind. After all this, I would still give them 4 stars, on the basis of getting good work so fast and more importantly, the great experience I had working with Victor.

All you must do is fill out an idiot test as I like to call it ( they're basically just making sure you don't show up to work on drugs and won't steal) and then boom just show up early when they open and there's a job to do. Yes, they're not ideal jobs (construction, factory work, minimum wage, no benefits, etc) but it's money! And you get paid same day in cash!! I remember when I lost my job because my car broke down and I had no way of getting there. Now yes, I can just go get another job but it's a timely process of applications, interviews, follow up interviews, training, and then waiting usually 2-3 weeks to get your first real pay check. I didn't have time to wait to have money. Rent was due, my car needed to be fixed and paid, phone needed to stay turned on, fridge needed food, I couldn't afford to wait even if it was just 3-4 weeks to get paid. One day, after telling a friend about my situation, they suggested labor ready. I had never even heard of it! I thought they were exaggerating at how simple and quick it was. So I woke up at 4am the next morning, called, and walked my behind an hour to the middle of the city there. I took the test and showed up the next day for work. At the time I lived in Taunton so this was the Taunton location. They were rude, mean, disrespectful, judge mental, but I had work and just like that I had cash in my hand same day. The work sucked. It was cold, early, repetitive, factory work with a short break and no benefits at minimum wage. But I was just so blessed I had an instant opportunity for income until I found a job. I found a job and started working 3 weeks later at a great job but that month at labor ready saved my apartment, car, everything! A year later I moved to east Boston, got a great job, was Finishing up at Umass Boston, and had my own place. I lost my job a year later and in fear of losing out on continuous pay with out any pauses I looked for a labor ready near me. I found the one in Chelsea and even though I was dreading doing this all over again, I went in. They were so nice, helpful, non judge mental, kind, respectful, professional, personal, and accommodating!! Unlike Taunton, this labor ready was clean, warm, comfortable, organized, and welcoming. They found out about my past and knowing I had degrees, a license, car, and past labor ready experience and set me up with a job that was fit for me. They have me a driving job that paid over $20/hr and was great! I worked there for a few month until I could find another job. I'll never forget how they were so great! They still call me to this day to see if I'm in need of any work, etc. they really supported me and treated me like a friend until I could get on my feet. It meant a lot especially knowing they don't have to. Great labor ready location!! John and junior were the best!!!!
