If we follow your logic, the promotion should've said, "Buy 15 empanadas, get 3 free". Rest assured I didn't get anything free, as you kept on insisting I should buy 1 more to make it 15. It is pointless, there is no argument if something so simple is made complicated. Rest assured too that despite this I gave a good tip ($13.80). Savory Crust is our favorite local restaurant! The food is always delicious and their customer service is amazing! They go above and beyond! Some favorites include the pork belly empanada, cauliflower wings, elotes with Takis, Bulgogi beef bowl, garlic fried rice, garlic plantain chips, and churros. That being said...we've tried many other things and everything has been good!! The food here is amazing! Everything tastes homemade. Get the hot chimichurri for dipping it's amazing. We have been twice in the past month. What a delicious, amazing hidden gem. My husband and I ordered one of each Empanada and split them in half so we were able to try each one. They were ALL so tasty that we just dived in and didn't think to take any pictures for the review. My favorites are the pork belly, chicken curry, picadillo and the chocolate-banana dessert one. The empanada dough has a very flaky and buttery flavor - very nice. Chicken Marsala - The chicken was cooked to perfection but it could be a little on the dry side unless you eat it right away. The empanadas are filled, so there are no holes or empty spots. My co-worker could not stop eating them :) Bowl: Beef Kaldereta - Beef is tender and has a rich flavor. I will order this again!! We've gotten takeout here three times. It tastes homemade, it's very good. Their apple dessert empanadas taste as good as real homemade pie. Everything we've gotten to eat here has tasted great. I recently placed an order at their Carol Stream location for a birthday party of a variety of empanadas, sides of elotes, chicken fried rice and jicama salad. Every single item was delicious. The portions for the sides are generous and I had enough sides for take home packages for guests. I have tried them on several occasions now. Orders were always correct and they seem to be very nice people. The elotes were good, maybe just not as tangy as I've has elsewhere. All I've tried are the empanadas. Argentinian, pork belly and chicken pot pie. All were tasty although I wish there was just a bit more filling in each. The crust was crispy and buttery tasting with a bit of sweetness to it. The accompanying sauces were good with the chimichurri the standout particularly with the more meaty empanadas. A decent sized appetite will require 2, for a snack or smaller appetite 1 should suffice. Will be definitely be going back for more and to try some others. Just not a lot of choices in the area except for the same ol' franchises so this is a good change of pace. Need more independently owned food providers like this in the area.
