They do such a great job here. I love that I can take my friends with the highest dietary needs here since they are completely peanut free, transparently disclose potential allergens in each ice cream, and offer plenty of both dairy and vegan ice creams (I believe half are dairy, half are vegan, and I want to say there are about 6-7 options of each). I also love that they are completely gluten-free even though I am able to eat gluten, again, because friends and family who cannot eat gluten can eat freely here. Even though I'm not really a cone person, the scent of the cones baking entices me to get them often. Their new location is much bigger and has a much better flow with a dedicated section for the line, and they have a nice outdoor space to enjoy the ice cream outdoors as well. I am always really excited to see their new monthly rotating flavors even though I most frequently get my usual, which is a mini scoop that is half caramel and half coffee, which I think is the perfect pairing. I think for what they offer, their prices are completely reasonable. Just the other day I got two mini scoops (personally I think that volume is plenty!) and a cone, and my total came to $9. Finally, they just do customer service right and have a lot of cute little touches: the little gold spoons for samples or their flight of four ice creams, allowing you to purchase said little gold spoons for $3 (I may or may not have purchased two for myself), the employees are super friendly and on it and maintain a good flow (the line moves fast, even though it's super long usually!), the list goes on! Now, if I were to be completely nitpicky about making it a *seamless* customer servive experience, I personally love when that awkward tip screen does *not* come up when I am getting counter service, but I also acknowledge that that may just be a hot take. Not that I don't think they deserve it because they absolutely do, but I just find obligatory tipping pretty dystopian and would rather have faith that everyone is getting a living wage without having to "perform," and the prices are the true prices making it possible to do so. But again, overall this is an amazing place and I am so happy this local business exists in Chico. A cute little sidenote: one day the spouse of the owner was kinda helping out in the front, and he was just gushing about how proud he was of his wife and the work they're doing, and it was such a sweet endearing moment. read more

Ice cream aside (it's hella good btw). The almond frangipane is delicious. Oh, and if you don't like ice cream in a cone, you're missing out. Those cones! read more

Visited June 18 2026...see my receipt as always. This is a newer place that opened about 2 years ago. It's right around the corner from Farmer's Brewing in Chico. You would never know the difference if you ordered from the vegan menu! Good options in a pristine atmosphere. They have outdoor seating which is pet friendly! Love this more relaxing part of town ( but growing rapidly). I got the mint chip and I think a salted caramel flavored ice cream. The mint chip was awesome! Whatever I ordered for myself was a bit too sweet for me ( not a big ice cream lover) Quality organic ingredients and very popular! Great addition to this area! A must go for HEALTHIER Ice cream! read more

There was a long line when I went, but they moved people along quickly. I was surprised how fast they helped customers. What's more impressive is I didn't feel rushed when they were helping me. Their ice cream is so good, and I love that they have gluten-free, vegan, and dairy-free options. I had the salted caramel, it was delicious. I can't wait to come back and try their other flavors. read more

Insanely good ice cream with great vegan and traditional options! Savor is located in a new-ish shopping center in Chico. We had lunch nearby and strolled around, only to stumble into Savor for an after-lunch treat. Boy, am I glad we did! Two mini scoops of vegan birthday cake ice cream are all we needed to know that Savor is the real deal. I am always a bit skeptical of vegan ice cream, but this stuff was legit. The texture was great, and the chunks of birthday cake were insanely delicious. There is a great selection of indoor and outdoor seating, and the boho decor was nice. We ended up visiting again in the evening, where the line was out the door! Clearly, Savor has a reputation in Chico. We picked up a pistachio chip cheesecake and an almond frangipane blondie to enjoy at our hotel. The blondie was absolutely to die for. The cake-like texture was amazing, and the almond flavor was perfect. Warmed up with ice cream? Yes please! The cheesecake was very good and had a mild pistachio flavor. The chocolate chunks were a great addition. Savor Ice Cream is truly special. Give it a go! read more

Great customer service, great ice cream options, short wait in line, sampled 3 flavors before making a decision. Lots of vegan options, I was thinking it was going to be all sorbet flavors before going but wrong was I! The vegan flavors were less sweet too which worked out perfect for my partner. read more

This is the best ice cream period! Each flavor is very unique, and excellent. We were at the Lost Dutchman in Chico and Savor Ice cream was there. Complete blast!! We had our nine month old lab that Ridgeside K9 in Chico trained and Savor ice cream was on site! Our dog Doc was in luck!! He received his first special treat that he consumed in a few minutes was French vanilla!! Thank you Savor for being dog friendly and having such delicious ice cream!! We love you!! read more

Wish I could give more than 5 stars!! Not only is it the best vegan ice cream I've ever had, but it's adorable inside and the service was efficient and friendly. I'm recently diagnosed celiac and to have such a great option in Chico is incredible :) can't recommend this place enough! read more

I can't recommend this business enough!! They have the most creative and delicious ice cream flavors- try the daycamp coffee and balsamic strawberry... while you're at it, try an ice cream flight, SO good. They have dairy free options and everything is GF, including the BEST waffle cones. The staff is so kind and the owners are so generous and care a lot about the community! The shop is adorable too! read more

Savor in my opinion is by far the BEST ICE CREAM STORE IN CALIFORNIA, MAYBE EVEN THE USA! The service is friendly and welcoming! The store is immaculately clean. I have allergies to dairy, gluten, almonds, & oats. At most ice cream stores, all I can have is some type of sorbet, because their base for their vegan ice cream is almond or oat milk. There is only one other ice cream store I have found that uses coconut cream as the base where I can get ice cream. But the selection of flavors is usually three. And because of my other allergies I usually am restricted to 1 choice. At Savor, I even had a waffle cone! I LOVED IT! read more

I recommend the coffee ice cream. The lemon tart is also really good. The rocky road cookie is meh.

We stopped by after hiking and had a hard time choosing because all the flavors are so tasty! We ended up going with the ice cream flight which let you pick 4 different flavors. We had daycamp coffee, earl grey and honey, vegan matcha, and maple bacon ice cream. The ladies there were so helpful and the decor is super cute. Will be back! read more

Don't believe the hype in these 5 star reviews. Went all the way here for soft ice cream that didn't really melt. I question the ingredients. I didn't even want to finish nor did my daughter. The only thing that saves it was the freshly made waffle cone. read more

Savor This is an absolute gem! The flavors are incredible--half of them are vegan and made with coconut milk, which is such a thoughtful option. Honestly, I'd do a scoop of each one if I could. The atmosphere is just as sweet as the ice cream: big smiles, friendly staff, and zero rush. I love that you can sample as many flavors as you'd like without anyone acting annoyed--it makes the experience fun instead of stressful. This shop is perfect if you want unique flavors, plant-based options, and a genuinely welcoming vibe. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area! read more

Savor is such a gem. It's rare to find a dedicated gluten free ice cream shop that also has non-dairy ice cream. Very tasty. I will be going back. Good portions and good ingredients. Seems like good quality ingredients.

I love Savor Ice Cream! I tell everyone about your ice cream shop. I've recommended that over 10 of my friends try it out; they all have loved it. Everyone is always surprised when I tell them you've been open for a year! "How did I not know this place existed?!" That is the answer I always get. I always go in with a friend and sit outside on the patio, enjoying the slight breeze and ice cream. I love supporting our local businesses. Thank you, guys, for opening and having a fantastic range of flavors! I absolutely adore your house-made waffle cone. It always smells amazing once you open that door. It gives me such a nostalgic feeling. I always get a generous scoop . I love the aesthetic of the shop--simple but classy . read more
