Delicious ice cream. Love the Chico mint flavor! Cute and clean little ice cream shop and candy store, friendly staff!

Nice service. Was expecting a glass display but just counter with covered bins. Ice cream flavors were decent but not ice cream was a bit mushy and not at all photo worthy. No seating inside but tables and chairs outside but was eaten alive by mosquitoes which seems to be in abundance around Chico from what I've heard from locals. read more

Root beer float was one of a kind, used to making my own and I was definitely making it wrong this whole time lol, staff was really helpful and great read more

We decided to try Schubert's since we were staying across the street at the Quality Inn. I got the huckleberry sundae with sweet cream ice-cream and Hubby got a brown cow (root beer and vanilla ice-cream milkshake). The ice-cream was delicious! The staff was all very helpful and super friendly. They were making sure everyone received attention as soon as they walked in, answering any questions and filling requests for samples. They have a variety of ice-cream flavors, chocolates, candies, and ice-cream sandwiches. For sure a must try in Chico. The space itself is small, but there is seating outside, to enjoy your treats. read more

This is the best ice cream you will ever have and try that house made root beer... hand made chocolate... just amazing

Too small to eat the ice cream inside but really delicious. I had mocha chip and was very pleased.

Great ice cream! Busy and still the line moved quickly with many servers. Excellent quality of ice cream!!

Quant ice cream store with nice variety of flavors-I've only tried Chico Mint because why mess with perfection?! Creamy chocolate ice cream base encasing smooth green mint chips. Reminds me of homemade after dinner mints. Hubby enjoyed the mocha ice cream. Always stop by when in town! read more

This was the best ice cream store I've been to in a long time. The ambience is nice, the staff was very friendly. They had so many choices of ice cream, and also cones to choose from. And it turned out to be the best pistachio ice cream I've ever had! read more

After watching the Oscar nominated short films at a local nearby theater, my dad and I made our way to Shubert's for a late night sweet treat. He ordered two scoops of mint chip in a waffle cone while I ordered two scoops in a cup. I decided to try their Rocky Road and their salted caramel. The flavors were decent, but there were several large pieces of ice in my scoops which really messed with the texture. With all the rave reviews, I had higher expectations as to the quality of this ice cream. read more

Service was excellent! Rocky road ice cream and there mocha chip was the best I ever had

Love this place! Amazing service and quality of their treats are amazing! Took my son to the Easter event they do and we love going! Honestly such a Chico Staple! I was helped by a gal there and she was so sweet!!! She took time out to help me find a baseball easter egg for my son! Will forever cherish her kindness! read more

I want to like this place but they use corn syrup instead of sugar in both their ice cream and candy. Low quality.

I Scream, U scream, We all scream for ICE CREAM!!! When in Chico, CA you must stop by and try the seasonal flavor. I love a good homemade ice cream. I was trying to look for places that make small batch ice cream that is local. They have some great flavors for fall, including a pumpkin and an apple flavor. That ice cream was extra creamy, and a very smooth consistency. It did say that the extra churn it, which gave it that silky smooth taste. I had the pumpkin pie and let me tell you it tasted like a pumpkin pie. Got it in the homemade waffle cone and it almost tasted like a crust. Highly suggested that you check this place out and get you some ice cream. read more

We love Schubert's!! It's an iconic Chico spot. We've been getting ice cream here for years.

Just had their black raspberry ice cream. It is great! I'm coming back and bringing friends. It is really good.

Really was hoping this was going to be good. Visiting from out of the area and was disappointed in the service and the ice cream was very average. It was very bland and we didn't even finish it. I would not recommend read more

My husband was in the hospital and couldn't have solid food so I thought bringing him a milkshake would be a nice treat and he loved it!!

Wonderful ice cream and candy shop! Homemade ice cream and candies made on the premises. Serving customers for 87 years. Local ingredients used for the ice cream and you can tell! Fresh ingredients with a clean taste! Lines can get long but the friendly employees work fast and efficient! There are a few places and tables to sit outside and enjoy your treat! One of my favorites is the Country Vanilla malt! read more

I love that they serve oatmilk ice cream. Always clean, and the staff is usually very nice.

Spectacular place for ice cream! And chocolates! And other little goodies! This business is a quaint, little shop, but there seems to be an endless array of sweet treats inside. You'll feel overwhelmed, if you've never been here before, I'd say. But the staff is always helpful! They'll go above and beyond to make sure you leave feeling like all your sweet requests were fulfilled. The ice cream is always delicious. Cold, creamy, light and refreshing. How ice cream should be! It's the main reason why I come here often during the hot weather, but even when the weather's pretty cool, I'll come because their ice cream leaves you wanting more. If you're looking for some good ice cream in Chico, look no further. You won't be disappointed. read more

Shubert's Ice Cream & Candy - Double scoop of chocolate and cookie dough in a waffle cone. - Candy Stores Near Me - Chico, California

I love the nostalgia that Schuberts brings. It begins from the moment you step in and see the displayed candies, chocolates, and ice cream, and ends when you leave the store after you have finished your treat. We always order the one and only: + Brown Cow. It's a must when we come to visit Chico! It's so thick yet I am able to drink it with a straw. Although they do provide you with a spoon if that is your preferred way to enjoy it. Perhaps I should go beyond my comfort zone and try some of their ice creams! read more

Lots of inexpensive brands of ice cream out there, but I encourage everyone to treat themselves to the best - Shubert's. When I lived in Los Angeles for 25 years, I would frequently visit Chico and return with a cooler full of half-gallons. Friends and co-workers absolutely loved the variety and Shubert's quality. Oh and pick up a sleeve of their thin-mint wafers. Careful as they are habit forming read more

Shuberts is a cute little local ice cream and candy shop in Chico. They have a ton of flavors of homemade ice cream and various chocolate treats to choose from. After sampling a few flavors, I opted for the cookies and creme ice cream in a cup. It was delicious and a great way to cool off from the heat. Parking is easy as they have their own lot and it's within walking distance to great shops. Lots of places to sit out front to eat too if you'd like. But the only down side is there is no inside seating. read more

Shubert's Ice Cream & Candy - Menu - Candy Stores Near Me - Chico, California

Hidden gem off side street and edge of downtown and across from Quality Inns. Was in Chico a few months back and tried their Root beer and black cherry ice creams. Both were delicious! They also sell their own chocolates but I did not get the chance to try any. Next time for sure! Love the retro posters of past local events inside! Friendly service and operating safely under Covid guidelines and restrictions. They do have a few tables outside along the sidewalk if you want to sit but most people took their ice cream to go and walked off into downtown. read more

Shubert's has been a Chico staple for decades. I've been coming here for 40 years and it's still the same amazing ice cream and candy it's always been. Whether you're looking for a seasonal treat like a fudge egg for Easter, box of chocolates for Valentine's Day or you're just wanting an excellent scoop on a hot day, Shubert's is the place to go! You're always met with a friendly face and a great service. The store is small but outside seating is available. read more

A family business for eighty years now. Best homemade ice cream in town along with a GREAT staff. I live an hour away but make sure every visit to Chico includes a stop at Shubert's Ice Cream Parlor. They also carry really cute Holiday Decorations. Many that adorn my house. read more

Delightful and delicious and amazingly friendly service. The fruit flavored ice cream has actual fruit pieces which is so refreshing.

How could you not like Shubert's. Clearly one of the best ice creams around - better than Fenton's!!!
