One of my all time faves. The kids cup with the topping is just the right size. The prices are definitely higher, but for a sweet treat it's not a bad deal. The soft serve is always delicious and such a huge array of toppings to choose from! read more

We came for dessert after dinner at Big Tuna. Felt hesitant due to reviews but so glad we went. What a lovely shop with so many options. Our server as super friendly and kind :) We loved our frozen yogurt choices and felt they were generous portions. We will be back...thank you!!! read more

There are new owners that took over within the last few years. They raised their prices by almost double, give less yogurt and toppings and switched to paper cups. Yogurt is still the same, nothing incredibly special to warrant such a hike. Personally I'd rather go to Baskin Robbin's these days! Same price, better dessert. read more

Who doesn't love frozen yogurt? Do I even have to ask this question? This is my preferred location - close to where I live and often it's easy to get in and get out without too much hassle. I love to get the chocolate and vanilla swirl. They also have many other yogurt flavors. And you can sample them before buying. The inside is rather small. Just the counter and a couple of tables and chairs, but if you wanted to eat your sweet treat here, you could comfortably do so. Workers are never snarky and make sure you leave satisfied. Yes, the yogurt can be pricey, but it's so delicious. And I don't come here every day, usually a couple times a month at most. read more

very good customer service here, but the prices are kinda high. It was $12 for one thing of frozen yogurt used to be a lot cheaper. I just seems kind of absurd. Also tasted OK but not $12 worth. read more

Amazing service we got treated with so much kindness!! Good portion with reasonable prices! 10/10 would recommend!

I've been coming to Jon &Bon's since the 90's. I've taken my kids, family and friends here for years, as it's a Chico staple. My husband and I went to the downtown location and were extremely disappointed. Jon &Bon was always known for their generous servings of both yogurt and toppings. When we got our yogurt the cups were only filled 3/4 of the way. We got our topping on the side (as always) and the cup was 1/2 empty. We live downtown and it takes less than 3 minutes to drive home. By the time we were in our driveway my yogurt was soup. I understand we are ALL suffering with inflation and businesses need to make money, but paying full price for something and having 1/4 of the product withheld is robbery. If you need to keep up with rising costs, raise the price of your product and let the customer decide if they want to pay for it. To raise prices AND give much smaller portions is dishonest. Paying $23 for runny yogurt in 3/4 filled cups has unfortunately left a bad taste in our mouths. read more

This is some of the best frozen yogurt I have ever had. The mountain berry with yogurt chips and blackberries is to die for. The vanilla with honey oats and peanut butter cups is way too good as well. They have so many options for toppings, there really is something for everyone! Staff was nice, but you could tell she was a little overwhelmed with the line of people. I think she would have benefited from having 1 other person working with her! It looked like a lot of work for just one person. read more

I went here on July 4th, in between shifts. It was a huge heat wave and I was so happy that I could get a quick healthy frozen yogurt ( although I did have some cookie dough chunks). The staff was nice and they had a pretty big selection of ice cream and yogurt. Cute home town feel. The price isn't too bad as long as you don't go crazy with toppings. read more

Jon and Bons has always been a favorite for my family because they are one of the only yogurt shops that consistently carry Euro Tart Frozen Yogurt. Now they have a birthday cake ice cream that just might be the BEST ice cream I have ever had. Highly Recommend! read more

Waited so long in line while worker sealed with phone line with a full line going out the door just for us to get to the front of the line. Order a shaved ice for the machine to start working then stop due to workers inexperience of working with the machine. Didn't attempt to solve the problem but to simple say sorry it's not working and give us no type of compensation of understanding as i'm lactose and and only do the shaved ice. read more

I'm really disappointed with the Jon & Bon's experience since the recent ownership change. I usually go to the Mangrove location, but sometimes visit the Broadway location as well. Lately, not even half of the frozen yogurt machines are running, meaning there are 3-4 flavors at most, sometimes less at Broadway. Topping are routinely out of stock for extended periods of time. The website is never updated, so you can't check flavors in advance... they should just remove that feature altogether if they're not going to keep it up to date. And lastly, they switched their white styrofoam cups to cardboard paper cups - at least at Mangrove. The frozen yogurt melts much more quickly, and getting yogurt to-go is not really an option anymore since it will be soup by the time you get home. Oh, and on top of all of that, the new owners have upped the prices and gotten rid of the beloved "special" size which was petite & came with a free half-topping. This ain't it, Jon & Bon's! read more

Sad to see the end of an era. Have been a Chico local loyal J &B fan for the last 30+ years which has also turned into our family favorite. Went to the Mangrove one. Only three flavors. They were ice tasting like they switched yogurt production. Higher prices. Way less yogurt. Thought it was maybe a fluke so tried the Skyway one with a friend from high school. We were both disappointed and I'm sad because I won't be going back. Should not have tried to fix what was not broken. read more

Usually LOVE Jon N Bons. Went in a full hour before close and the boy that was working, rushed our order as if it was super inconvenient to serve us. He was going so fast, not listening and rolled his eyes when we corrected the icecream flavor after he misheard. Appreciate the attempt at efficiency but it led to a lack of customer service and the wrong icecream and toppings. read more

We recently visited the downtown location and were disappointed. To start off the prices have increased and sizes changed. No more special size. Cups are not styrofoam and yogurt was melting so fast while we paid. From other reviews looks like this is the same at other locations. We won't be going back. read more

This place has delicious yogurt, but the topping prices are outrageous considering they scrimp on the portions. I would think the small cup would be full for $2.15. Here's what $4.30 for 2 servings gets you: read more

My family and I have been loyal Jon and bon's customers we where there every night. Since the new owners have tried fixing something that never needed to be fixed we have stopped going. The "special" size that was perfect is now gone for a smaller size that cost more and doesn't come with a free half topping. My family and I are no longer able to enjoy our yogurt at home because it turns to a soup since they changed their cups to paper. Also the Hawaiian snow sizes are the not the same and you only get a few bites. We will no longer support Jon and bon and will be spending our money at better places like shubert's. read more

After being a faithful customer since 1995, it's sad to know that a new owner from the Bay Area has pretty much ruined this business. I will no longer be able to afford it. All the abrupt changes in Yogurt and flavors and prices are unfortunate. read more

Unfortunately, this place has gone downhill fast. It used to be a staple, a Chico favorite, but now they have barely any flavors and the ones they do have don't taste the same quality as they used to. read more

Good froyo and ice cream but employees lowk really rude and hostile if you come in within an hour of close. They are always trying to close early and by the end of the night they only have chocolate and vanilla froyo. Ice cream is delicious however the service has been far below par recently. The past few months of visiting the staff seen extremely aggravated that they have customers. Not only do they start to close at least an hour early, their customer service skills make the customers feel like a burden when giving them service. It would be nice to see some more uplifting people who look like they enjoy their jobs than be rude to the customers and roll their eyes at any request. read more

They still use styrofoam and the costs are over double what they were a couple years ago. The quality is good, but the markup is INSANE. Why are they still using foam? With all the information that is out there on foam, it's just pure ignorance. read more

The young woman that helped us today around 8:00 was UNBELIEVABLY RUDE for no reason. Yikes. Yogurt was fine.

Ice cream is incredibly expensive. Decor or rather lack there of is sad given how much they charge. Seating looks like they bought it from a garage sale or side of the road. When my children were sitting outside eating because there was no seating inside and employee decided to come out and start spraying the windows with Windex. Needless to say we got windex in both our ice creams and ourselves. Wow... where is the common sense? Won't be back. How could you sell something target at two children, yet make it such an on child friendly environment? This business obviously does not care about his patrons, It doesn't try to mask that either. read more

Not terribly impressed with this particular location. Look, I am not expecting it to look like Restaurant: Impossible swooped in and made everything awesome, but the place was drab and needed a wipedown... actually a coat of paint would help too. All of the tables were dirty and the place was empty. So instead of zoning out behind the counter, people need to take a little pride in where they work and maintain it to some standard. Yogurt was good, but left the house without cash... of course I had to pay 75 cents extra to use my debit, great. I understand why businesses pass this penalty on to the customers, it just stings a little. Won't really be going out of my way to head back. read more

This is by far our fav froyo in Chico and it has been for over 25 years. Tonight we were treated so rudely by the curly/dark haired girl helping us with our $30 YOGURT ORDER that I'm here giving a two star review. After making us feel as though we were bitterly inconveniencing her by coming in at 8pm to order yogurt & toppings to-go, she literally said to my 74 year old father (who moves slowly as he walks with a cane) "CAN YOU GET OUT OF THE WAY so I can ring her (pointing to the next person in line) up?" So Rude! Made me want to snatch the TIP HE JUST GAVE HER out of the jar. I didn't...he and Jesus would have been horrified and I don't like to let either of them down. I walked my dad out and my husband graciously thanked her and wished her a good night. Boo though...it harshed the mellow of an otherwise happy family evening. read more

Jon n bons is by far my favorite yogurt shop in the world. I've bragged about the one in down town but wanted to give this one just as much credit as it deserves. It's got the low fat yogurt, ice cream, shaved ice along with numerous delectable toppings you just can't go wrong. This location is perfect for a quick grab n go or a small place to sneak away to. This location is perfect if you don't want to drive down town and pay for parking n all that stuff. Keep up the great work Jon n bons. I'll be back for more delicious treats :) read more

payed 14 dollars for a terrible, straight milk milkshake and a single scoop of ice cream that was the size of my testing spoon.

Truly honest staff! Let's face it, the yogurt is great. But after I accidentally left my purse under the table and left, I panicked. I called the shop right away and the young man behind the counter had already found it and put it away for me, knowing I'd be back for it. There are still great people in the world and some of them work at Jon and Bon's. Thank you! read more

Always great yogurt and great service. Always super clean inside and the people are really nice and helpful.

I got a medium yogurt and they only filled the cup less than half full for $6 plus. A major, big, fat rip off. We will never go there again.

I was born and raised in Chico and have never known a Summer without Jon and Bons. I love all of their locations, the downtown one is the best, but that is because I just love the Phoenix building. Back to this location... I actually like the long lines, people getting froyo are happy, I don't mind spending a few minutes with happy people. The paint on the wall is a little dreary, but maybe they had to do something to dampen the mood to keep all those happy people in line from pooping rainbows and belting out a show tune or two. Five stars for happy people singing show tunes while pooping rainbows. minus one star for the temporary sadness when they discontinued my favorite flavor... and plus one start for child hood memories, consistently good froyo, service, and awesomeness. read more

Okay, yes, Jon & Bon's overpriced, but is it never not good? No. It's delicious every time and I am never sad when I finish eating my yogurt. I love that they have late night hours and that I can flavor-hop to one of their three locations. My favorites are peppermint stick, egg nog, pumpkin pie, and banana custard, and when all else fails, chocolate overload will always be waiting for you. Their peanut butter granola topping is life-changing, and if you're a weirdo who goes to a yogurt place to get shave ice, you can do that, too! They also serve ice cream and can make shakes, and have a pretty great rewards program that keeps customers coming back. read more

My husband and I have been going here for years and years. Loyal customers. But the last few times we've been to the Mangrove location the service has been...odd. I went in with my kids and mother-in-law. There was a younger man working behind the counter. And two other workers in the corner chatting about "Something, something sluts." My son said he wanted on scoop and since we were driving I asked if we could have that in a cup. He said if we got one scoop we could only get it in a cone. He seemed very put-out to be helping us. He rolled his eyes and let out long sighs with his arms crossed (there was nobody else in line and we were there in the middle of the day, so not before closing). I said if it was a price difference for a cup, I didn't mind paying it. He said it wouldn't be possible at all, no exceptions to put it into a cup. And I was so confused, but I don't want to get anyone into trouble so I went with it. Okay, sure, we can take it on a cone. Then for my MILs order and mine he got really fussy. I asked if I could have whatever size would work for putting a lid on it, because I'd be transporting it home. And he got really angry at my request and said people get mad at them when they put lids on because they want the ice cream piled high. I said I didn't mind at all about losing ice cream from the top. I just needed a lid and a larger size so I could eat it over several days and transport it. He said he didn't feel comfortable with our request and stomped over to the machine to fill it. I didn't know if he was going to give us a lid or not and he'd been so emotionally charged we were afraid to say or ask anything more. Look, I bet people have treated them terrible. I've been in service work and people can be very weird and take out their bad day on you. But one thing I learned was to not turn around and do the same. Especially if someone is trying hard to be nice and make it work and willing to bend over backwards to do it in a way to make it right. It made me really sad as this was the maybe dozenth time in a row we've been treated as if us being there buying ice cream was a burden. We always leave a tip. Even this time my MIL put a tip in the jar and out in the car said "Might be time to find a new favorite ice cream place." And I had to sadly agree, so after 20 years of this being our go-to place my husband and I must vote our dollars to go elsewhere. And after we made this announcement to friends, found out others have had the same terrible customer service experience we've had. So we all vowed to break up with Jon and Bons. There is only so much emotional abuse you can take in the name of loyalty. We've been trying other places we've not tried before. We really LOVED La Flor De Michoancán Paletería y Nevería Homemade Ice Cream Shop. read more
