Buonissimo! Savini was one of our chosen restaurant to visit during our trip to Milan. The ambiance is amazing great. I think it's probably due to the coordinated table cloth and uniform of the waiters and waitresses. It's the first thing I noticed and it's what set it apart from the other restaurants. I love the fresh flowers that every table had. From the moment we entered, we were warmly greeted with two staffs and beautiful smiles. I ordered the Risotto with escapee courgettes, mussels. This is the best risotto I've ever had. The taste lingers in my mouth even till today. I would go back to have this again and again. The creamy taste and perfectly cooked risotto is just flawless! The mussels were a nice touch. My daughter had the Spaghetti cavalier cocco with tomato, basil and cows milk stracciatella. It looks simple but oooh so amazingly delicious!!! With the fresh creamy cheese. It was a delightful treat in our mouth. The gelato didn't make it to the photo but it was a perfectly finishing touch. It was an amazing experience dining with Savini. We decided to find dinner while waiting out a torrential rain storm. Wandered into Savini in the Galleria next to Duomo. Being in Milan, we had to get the risotto Milanese. Paired it with a Nebbiolo wine. It did not disappoint. Good food. Good wine. Nice atmosphere. read more

Our food and service was outstanding. As others have complained, there was no mention of a cover charge if 8 euros per person on anything until we got the bill. We just considered it out tip whether it was or was not. The bread they served was nice and crusty. Only olive oil salt and pepper on the table, some balsamic would have been nice to add. My wife had the risotto which had the nice flavor of saffron. I had the osseboco with the risotto. I enjoyed. It. Sine have complained mostly about the prices and the non transparency. The location service food and comfortable chairs made it a pleasant experience. read more

We really like this place. It's the kind of restaurant that you go with the intention of spending a lot of time there. The food is delicious so you should take your time eating Knapp and the opportunity for people watching is amazing. There was something relaxing about it, and I thought that the people and the service were delightful. read more

**This review is based on a tour meal This restaurant is a Michelin recommended restaurant and I came here with a tour so the menu was prix fixe menu. They printed out a menu for each person which was actually pretty cool because at every other place I went to on this tour I had no idea what to expect. The first two courses were really good: Steamed veggies and mushroom and taleggio cheese risotto. Every risotto and pasta I've had in Italy had perfectly al dente noods so no complaint there. Now...the couple of issues I had began with the entree. I didn't really know what the entree would be off the menu..I just knew it was beef. It ended up being filet...but the thing is..they never asked what temp any of us wanted. So I ended up getting a medium well, the lady next to me got rare, my mom got medium... I eat my steaks black and blue or rare so it was a good thing the lady next to me was terrified at her red steak and traded with me. But I would've expected them to all have been the same temp or have someone ask. I had to ask 2 different waiters for a water refill and their dessert was too sweet (lemon tart). I don't really know what I'm supposed to expect from a Michelin recommended restaurant but just the steak kind of ruined the whole meal for me. read more

I will make this short. I have been in many 4 and 5 star restaurants. I have also been in tourist trap restaurants. Savini is a tourist trap restaurant. The service is good. Ambiance is plesant. The food was below par. Mind you if you order typical Italian dishes such as pasta, risotto or veal plates. They are well cooked. But if you order out of their range. The food is poorly prepared. I ordered Foie Gras antipasta. It was a moose. Very dry and tasteless. I ordered breast of duck for the main dish. It was overcooked and also tasteless. It is obvious that Savini does not have a chef on staff. They have 2nd grade cooks on staff. Again, if you visit order only pasta dishes or risotto or veal. read more

Must have seen from other negative reviews . Warning for tourists. Although the food is not bad, they take advantage of the tourist. Being or atleast looking like a classy restaurant we thought we will step in . Obviously the prices are higher then other places and we were ok with it . What we did not realize is the extent they rip you off on certain charges and small items . Even though we ordered 2 drinks snd salad and two mains , they charged us a cover charge of 16 euros ! Thats a lot . They also charged us 20 euros for a non alcohol virgin cocktail. 10 euros for water . And for the drinks they did not even bring those olives and nuts set that others had . 2 people 151 euros for just water , 1 virgin drink one glass of wine and 2 mains . Generally restaurants here do cover charge for either many people who just order drinks and snacks only or 2 people who don't order main courses . But they knew that we wouldn't know snd dispute. We were running late so we only saw the cover charge snd insane mocktail charge after the fact that night . Also the service is 2 star service . Nobody even cared much to check from time to time . We have been traveling in Italy for the last two weeks . We had wonderful experiences. Unfortunately this restaurant has an attitude problem. We feel that we are annoying the servers when asking for anything . People that came much later than us got their food first . Very disappointed with the bad service and bad attitude. read more

Just had their gelato. One very small cup for €3.50 with cherry flavor but still pretty good. Very milky and creamy. And you can tell those are fresh made daily compare with so called gelato stands back in calif. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE! Totally Ignored by server. We have been on a 45 day European holiday so we've experienced a fairly broad pallet of dining experiences and flavors, so we're accustomed the different dining paces throughout Europe. While in Milan (Saturday 27 April, 21:31, table 11, chk 16663 as stamped on my receipt so they should have no problem associating this review and our experiences) we looked to the "Milan City Guide Where" for suggestions for an evening of fine dining. In the magazine is a full page advertisement about SAVINI and its traditions since 1867...blah blah blah. We bite so we hop the Metro and 15 minutes we're there. Granted we've been traveling out of suitcases for 6 weeks. We didn't pack our New York pinstripes or Ralph Lauren chic but we're clean and respectably attired. NEVER had we experienced such TERRIBLE SERVICE and it started with the woman who "greeted" us with disdain cold contempt which seems to be the SERVICE STYLE at Savini as well; COLD, DISDAIN and CONTEMPTIBLE. They all wear nice suits and ties however IT's NOTHING MORE THAN LIPSTICK ON A PIG.. There was a group of 6 next to us and much more lively so they garnered all the attention. (3 wait staff) Our waiter was arrogant and the least interested in us, he did ask if we wanted water when he finally approached our table. My wife declined but I wanted a glass but he turned his back and walked away without acknowledging my request. We said we would be ordering wine with dinner, he said he would get us the wine list. He walked past our table several times empty handed until finally he "dropped" the wine menu on the table without a word uttered. 15 minutes later he returned to take our order, (we were seated at 19:00 it is now 19:25). I inquired about a side order of grilled seasoned vegetables & what veggies they were? Our waiter's reply was "in season vegetables". The food arrived, my wife's main course however I only received the side order of vegetables. 10 minutes later a food runner came out wandering table to table with my main course. Our waiter never followed up with us during the course of the dinner to see how our food was or if we needed anything else. The other tables around us go this service but we did not. After our dinner was finished, we sat with dirty empty dinner plates on our table for 40 minutes, our waiter finally approached to ask if we wanted desert or coffee. We graciously declined and asked for the check, 15 minutes later with dirty dishes still on our table they sat a couple at the table next to us. Our waiter glibly socialized with them for several moments then left to get their dinnerware. Again I asked for the check upon his return, it was as if I was a huge inconvenience to him, he just looked down at me to say yeah. 10 minutes later our host who sat us, I assume she is also the manager finally approached our waiter with the bill and he tossed it on the table. Several minutes later the manager walked back over with the card scanner to finally release us from this Hellish dinning experience. I was not going to leave any gratuity as I tip according to service not the balance of my bill BUT they included 2 @ 6 Euro so they tipped themselves 12 Euro for the WORST SERVICE IN EUROPE. Oh yeah, food quality is only fair, the quantity for the price is ridiculously small. There are better options for your time and money, just walk past Savini. I've had better dinning experiences on a dinning car of a train. read more

A wonderful spot for afternoon tea or lunch (we went twice in one trip). It's located in the Galleria which is outdoors but covered. Sit outside, even if it's cold. They have blanks to keep your warm. Warning: it's expensive but worth it! read more

We were handed over between four different waiters, needed some time to force them to bring the menu, they served desert for some before bringing the main course, ... Do not come to this place if you want to eat good food. We had our worst meal ever in Italy. The food is much much worse than any other restaurant that we tried in Italy, and the price was ridiculous (30 euros for very dry veal). Service was terrible.
