The first time I ever went to Frandeka's I was absolutely blown away by the selection. There were meats and cuts that I've never heard of. No matter what you're looking for, they probably have it. From linked meats like cajun brats to hand crafted lunch meats, you won't have to make multiple stops thanks to Frandeka's. And all the prices are incredibly reasonable as well. The customer service at Frandeka's was also stellar! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They offered suggestions and also guidance on what would work best for the gumbo I was cooking. You can tell that they are accustomed to serving a high volume of traffic as they worked efficiently to help.

We do an annual summer road trip with our family and several of our friends and their families. I…read morealways like to find a local butcher offering bulk meat packs that we can pick up to grill for a night. I found G&W through Yelp and scheduled a pick up for a Biergarten Box (8-10 people) and a Backyard Box (4-6). Picking up was a breeze, I just showed up at the scheduled time and they had most of the meat ready. It ended up being a lot of brats, some franks, and some dried beef sticks. I will note this is a lot of sausages and no burgers, so we picked some of those up elsewhere. I also got a jar of mustard which turned out amazing. And yes, my wife and I were offered a couple beers when we walked in. Since we were driving back to our AirBNB right away, we saved them to boil the meat in. And wow, these were some excellent sausages. Super juicy and flavorful, and while I think there was some hesitation on the brats they were hits. The kids had no idea they were eating natural franks (which were gigantic) and they ate them up as well. The value was excellent too. By ordering online it knocked off 15%, so I paid around $90 to feed 5 families dinner and lunch the next day, and still took some leftover meat home. Highly recommend for anyone doing a bbq in the STL!

But once in the store you immediately begin look to see what they have. I found some turkey chop and some turkey ribs. The turkey chops were more affordable than other places. Soon someone was there offering their assistance. There is parking in front. It in a little strip mall. I will definitely be back to get a case of turkey ribs for the grill.

I was looking for Tuna, but when I saw the selection, I couldn't remember which type I needed so that just means I will have to go back! I bought a large jar of capers because I can never have enough of them and I happened upon a frozen Seafood Mix Mediterranean PanaPesca. This looks really good and I think it is for a pasta dish, I will try it and see. I wish I had known when we were there that we were going to have winter weather this weekend! I would have purchased a lot more and if you need to know this, they have fresh yeast cakes. I would have purchased it to make St. Louis school cafeteria rolls.

Order at the counter weather you are getting butcher items or ordering food from the menu. Don't forget to look in the cold cases for any number of items from eggs, bone broth, their delicious frozen biscuits, and many other items. Lots to choose from. I don't usually stray from my usual order of seasonal hash but I was eyeing a couple of new items I hadn't seen on the brunch menu before. A breakfast sandwich and hash browns. I was going back and forth and one of the employees encouraged me to go with something different. I asked if I could get it on a biscuit and would be sold. They checked and said yes, I was excited because I LOVE the biscuit. I decided to try the hash browns, too. You take a number and pick your seat, counter with stools line the windows to the outside as well as section that looks into the butcher cutting area. Food came out quickly and was thrilled at the hash browns, they looked so good. Shredded potatoes fried crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside - very good and I would definitely order them again. I am usually very picky about cheese, but I love pimento and the biscuit sandwich was amazing. So it came out as a split biscuit with the house ham and pimento spread, pepper jelly, arugula, heirloom tomato, and a fried egg. I cut the egg in half so I could take half home but it turned out to be nonsense as I couldn't stop eating the sandwich and finished the whole thing! Now I will have a hard decision next time I stop in! Staff is always great, super friendly, and always helpful answering any questions. Food is amazing!

Just go by direct from the farmers, the markup isn't worth it here anymore. As others have…read morementioned, they do over salt their prepared food fairly often but that's just the chef's palate. Everything's high-quality and poor value after accounting for the price. I stopped in to pick up a pork loin because I was around the corner, looking for ~3-4lbs of meat. They only had a 1 1/2 pound in the case (order taker weighed it to confirm before going to the back, which should've been my first warning) so I asked if they had any larger ones. They were nice enough to check and offer to cut one. That's where things went downhill. After waiting 5 or 10 minutes, my order taker came back out to ask how I wanted it prepped (bone or boneless, skin on or off). I said skin off and ambivalent on the bones. This was my mistake, leaving my fate to the hands of someone profit motivated. I walked out with just about a 3 pound bone in roast, which is maybe half a pound more meat than the one and a half pound I turned down - not enough for my guests and I. Had I gotten a roast closer to 4lbs, I would've been unhappy with the price but not enough to write a review. Additionally, they only charged a dollar less for bone in. At $15/lb, I effectively paid the price of their beef for the meat after accounting for the bone. I felt tricked. In hindsight, I should've just turned it down when I saw the price, but I was a bit too shocked to say anything. So I paid my bill and swore that I wouldn't be coming back for anything but (maybe) sausage or a snack again.
